I was brought up in Cannes and always dreamt of having an apartment in the magnificent “Le Californie”. I now live in England but I still I love Cannes as much now as I did then.

The situation of Le Californie is perfect: it is slightly up on a hill and therefore kept cool by the breeze and it has a magnificent view. It is just far enough away from the centre of town to be tranquil, yet the town centre and beach are within walking distance.

What makes this apartment unique

Le Californie is one of the most magnificent "Belle Epoque" buildings in Cannes. This beautiful neo-classical buildingIt is set in the middle of 4 acres of well tended exotic gardens with plenty of places to sit and have a drink while admiring the view. It still retains its unique, sculptured façade and majestic entrance hall.

We’ve visited this apartment several times now and enjoy its peaceful environment and yet its proximity to Cannes. It is set in a magnificent and romantic setting with lovely views across the gardens, to the sea beyond. There is private parking but Cannes station gives good access to the whole of the coast and the buses are inexpensive. I would highly recommend Le Californie as an excellent base to explore the area.

After a long train trip it was an oasis of calm and comfort with a view to the sea through waving palms in a manicured lawn. We aspire to living in such style the other fifty one weeks of the year if only we can give up working! For some it might be a bit of a hike to the sea and the town but we regarded it as a bonus to get fit.

This apartment exceeded expectations, and great to come back to after a long day out. We used the local train which was cheap and easy. We also took a boat to one of the islands off Cannes which was well worth doing. We will come again!

Lovely apartment in a magnificent building with spectacular views.

This was a lovely place and the views from the windows were beautifully Mediterranean.

The facilities were just right for the two of us (apart from lack of a washing machine).

The main disadvantage was the bedlinen. A simple double duvet with a duvet cover would have sufficed. We weren't fans of red bedlinen, and the mix of blankets and bedcovers of different sizes was just a little antiquated.

Altogether an excellent find.

Affordable luxury in Cannes!

The Apartment was totally as described and the attention to detail that Elizabet had given with regard to the directions and access to this lovely home was excellent.. We would highly recommend this Apartment as an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful coastline although it is not ideally situated for anyone who has difficulty in walking.

However local public transport was very good, we used the local 6b bus to the station and were pleased that we took the coastal train to Monaco as the traffic there was horrendous. We would certainly recommend this Apartment to our friends as excellent value and September as a very good time to miss the crowds in this part of the world.

Wonderful apartment, fantastic sea views.

The apartment is stylishly decorated in a beautiful historic former hotel building. The apartment is well equipped and extreemly comfortable. There are magnificent gardens that are well kept and stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea. Shops and restaurants within a 10 minute downhill walk. Cannes town and beach another 5 minutes further on. Ideal location for exploring the Cote De Azure. Highly recommended for couples.

Excellent apartment in an ideal location

We have recently returned from a week long stay, and what a great week it was. The apartment is excellent, with brilliant views, which we were able to enjoy over breakfast. With an enjoyable walk down the hill and along the coast to the centre of Cannes, the apartment is in an ideal location. The walk back up the hill takes a little more effort, but makes you feel better after your indulgences at the great restaurants in Cannes! Elisabeth, the owner, was brilliant. Always fast to reply to any messages sent, and provided a very useful document detailing nearest supermarkets/bakeries/restaurants etc. (Rue Hoche was an excellent recommendation!). Thanks for a great stay Elisabeth!

Amazing property and apartment!

The building itself is one of the most beautiful in all of Cannes you feel like you're walking into a palace! We loved every minute of our stay here. The apartment is very large by European standards and was very well equipped. The view was amazing and Elizabeth was very helpful. We will definitely return in the future!
