Villa With Private Pool and Stunning Uninterrupted Sea View. Sleeps 4 Kiziltas

Updated: 02-Jul-2016
Villa in Kalkan, Turkey - Approx 10-15 Minutes Walk To Beach And Town (1.3 Km)

Nestled in the hillside in a quiet location of Kiziltas, above the picturesque sophisticated fishing port of Kalkan Villa Manazara is corner, two bedroom detached villa with private pool, in an elevated position with a stunning uninterrupted sea view. Villa Manzara benefits from a larger than average terrace with the advantage of all-day sun due to central location of bay. Perfect for sunbathing and relaxing. Fabulous contemporary restaurant scene over 200 restaurants at the last count! Spend your holiday relaxing or visiting the many interesting historical sights nearby.

The villa has an airy feel enhanced by the open plan ground floor including a living room, kitchen and dining area. Bedrooms have a double bed and two singles beds and both have an ensuite shower and doors to a wrap-around balcony. The swimming pool dimensions are approximately 3 metres by 7 metres and four loungers with two umbrellas. Please note the pool does not have a shallow end so may not be suitable for small children or non-swimmers. Complimentary Wifi is provided and beach towels to save on you airport luggage allowance. The villa is air-conditioned and cleaned once a week and keys are handed over at the beginning of your holiday by our represantive. Cleaning carried out at no charge once a week, please advise if you would like more frequently and a charge can be paid locally.

There is a lively market every Thursday in Kalkan selling a wide range of goods from clothing to fruit and vegetables - enjoy haggling over your bargains! Kalkan has a pebbly beach and sun loungers can be hired. Patara beach is a sandy 18 km beach approximately 15 mins away, and a small entrance fee includes entrance to the beach and the historical Lycian site. Once again sun loungers can be hired and there is a beach cafe with showers and toilets available. The beach has nesting turtles and closes at night. Either drive catch a dolmus (little minibuses) or arrange a visit with travel companies based in Kalkan. Kaputas beach is also 15 mins away situated between Kas and Kalkan, beautiful turquoise water - accessed down many steps. There are many beach clubs in Kalkan - which include sun loungers, restaurants and platforms to access the sea. Many to choose from - Mahal, Palm, Kalkan Beachpark, Yali, Kalamar and Indigo. A pleasant way to spend a day. A boat trip is always a must - boats can be booked directly at the harbour. If you want to venture further afield a boat trip from Kevoka is well worth the hour drive toward Kas, explore the sunken lycian city! Lots of historical sights to be visited Xanthos, Tlos and Letoon. Saklikent Gorge is a also worth a visit - can be arranged through a tour company or if you hire a car and drive. A beautiful scenic 20-30 minute drive though the mountains, Saklikent is 18 km canyon. There is a small entrance fee per person. A river has to be crossed to before walking through the gorge and the water often can be waist high so take suitable clothes! Please bear in mind Saklikent is a memorable day out though if you have limited mobility or very small children please bear in mind there are lots of rocks to clamber around. For more adventurous types you can set off down the river in an inflatable rubber ring! Afterward relax in the ottoman seating style restaurants and enjoy a trout meal of cup of turkish cay (tea).

Our guests are also welcome to use the Samira De Luxe Hotel facilities, pool table and sports events on tv.

We hope a holiday spent at Villa Manzara guarantees to meet the requirements of all our guests - please contact me if you wish to discuss anything not covered, I welcome calls from potential guests to put your mind at rest you're talking to the owner.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Stayed in this Villa for 10 days and couldn't of been happier. From the time of booking, Paula the owner kept in contact with us and gave us some great restaurant ideas as well as other useful information. The Villa is in a great location, very quiet and only a 10 minute walk into the town (all downhill as Kalkan is very steep). Only £2.50-£3.00 for a taxi back. Lots of lovely restaurants to eat at and everybody makes you so welcome. Third time in Kalkan and already booked flights for next June and we will be staying in this lovely Villa again. Also very well looked after whilst out there by Cumar who comes daily to clean the pool and if any issues he comes straight away .... not that there was. Highly recommended.

Lovely villa in a stunning setting

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Villa Manzara with my husband for a week and had a lovely holiday.

The Villa is very nice. The downstairs is very spacious and we loved the electric water cooler on tap! The bedrooms are large and the bathrooms modern.

The large terrace is a perfect place to watch the wonderful sunsets and has fantastic views.

I enjoyed the hammock and found it very relaxing. Also the outside sofas are comfy and nicely placed in the shade.

The Villa is well maintained, Cuma is attentive and cleaned the pool daily. The Villa was also very clean.

The owner was very helpful and kindly allowed us to stay late as our flight wasn't until the early hours the following morning.

The highlight of our trip was a Moonlight Boat Cruise.

We loved Kalkan and will definitely be back!

Fabulous Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Villa Manzara was everything it said in the description. The view of the coast from the pool terrace and roof terrace was beautiful. We didn't tire of it at all. You can lay on a lilo in the pool and watch the activities of the boats and harbour! The villa was very clean, spacious and well maintained. Lots of kitchen equipment too. Beds and linen very comfy. Providing beach towels is a huge bonus.

We hired a car which, although not really necessary, was very useful as the Villa is situated on a fairly steep hill. But, you wouldn't get the view without it.

We had a very quiet week so didn't eat out a great deal (why would you leave the sunny terrace?). Very good quality of food in the supermarket (Yali meat counter was excellent), and the grocer just down the road a little provided us with ample food to pop onto the barbecue on the terrace when we got around to it.

We went to Palm Beach Club which was nice, but busy. Food was good and not expensive.

Baharat Restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Hasan the owner, was very friendly and genuinely seemed to want to provide good service and food. He did!

Had lunch at Kleo Café right by the public beach which, again, was excellent.

The public beach was very good too. We had no problem finding a sunbed (price for 3 with 2 umbrellas was just TL12). The sea was clean and very calm so excellent for a relaxing swim.

I would not hesitate in recommending to friends and family.

Owners very friendly and helpful with advice before we left. Cumar was there to meet us on arrival showed us around the villa and departed (it was very late at night). He then appeared first thing in the morning to clean the pool. Very good holiday all round.

Our first time in Turkey and we were not dissappointed. The Villa was perfect for our needs and was well appointed and maintained and the views over the bay are fantastic.

Cumar who maintains the pool and garden does an excellent job and was very helpful.

We found Kalkan to be an excellent base and has excellent restaurants and links to all local attractions and sites. The Villa is situated close to the bus station and meant that a hire car is not necessary.

Would stay in the Villa again if visiting Kalkan and would have no hesistation in recommending to other families

We had a great holiday again in Kalkan. The villa was the perfect home away from home. It had everything we needed to allow us to enjoy our holiday. Cuma was very helpful and ensured the pool and pool area were always clean. I would definately recommend this villa.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman Airport at 120 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Kas at 27 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Kalkan Beach at 1.2 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Lots of areas of historical interest. Kayakoy (approx one hour drive) Louis de Bernieres' novel 'Birds without wings' based here. Known as 'ghost village'.

Saklikent Gorge (approx thirty minutes drive) walk through the icy cold water!

Letoon, Unesco-designated Word Heritage site. A site of ancient greek ruins.

Xanthos- more ruins, with a fine roman theatre.

A pebble public beach 1.3 km walk from Villa Manzara, sun bed hire for a small local fee. Other beaches locally can be accessed if you use a local dolmus of hire a car.

Kaputas beach is stunning - sun loungers and restaurant facilities on site. Patara beach and well worth a visit - 12 km of gorgeous sandy coastline. Voted as one of the best beaches in the world by 'The Times' newspaper 2005. Closes at dusk due to nesting turtles. Our guests may also use the facilities of the Samira Deluxe hotel which is a short walk away.

Dalaman airport is 1 1/2 hours drive from Kalkan. If you require a recommendation for transfer/car hire companies we are happy to suggest Abitrtavel. Antayla is 2 1/2 hours drive.

Airlines - Easyjet, Thomas Cook, Monarch. Skyscanner details most competitive prices. Perhaps fly to Istanbul and use an internal carrier to Dalaman for a 2-centre holiday! Flight time from Istanbul to Dalaman just under an hour, Atlas Jet and Pegasus are very good.

Car hire is recommended but not essential.

Patara Beach is a fifteen minute car journey, a public beach with sun bed hire, shower, toilet facilities and a cafe. Islamlar is a traditional village in the mountains famous for fresh trout restaurants and highly recommended to have a dinner there to watch the sunset. Fethiye has a water park, forty five minute car journey. A boat trip makes a lovely day out - our favourite is Kekova which is past Kas. Famous as the 'sunken city'.

Further Details:

A market in Kalkan every Thursday - haggling essential! Sells clothes and fresh produce. Several supermarkets in town which deliver. Fishmonger and butchers provide high-quality selection. Five major banks in Kalkan with cash machines.Post office. Many internet cafes. Also an english speaking doctor and dentist if required. Kalkan is renowned for it's many rooftop restaurants. An extensive choice and quality is excellent!
