Four Star Gold Award Cottage In Ludham, Norfolk, England

Updated: 11-Oct-2016
Cottage in Ludham, Nr. Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk, England - Four Star Gold Award Cottage In Ludham, Norfolk, England

Ludham Hall Cottage adjoins the owners home, Ludham Hall, which dates back to the 1400's with an 19th Century façade and was originally the Bishops Palace connected to St Benets Abbey. In 1627 Bishop Harsnett built his own chapel at the Hall, which still stands today. Ludham Hall is a working family farm, with a strong environmental focus, and is the site of the Ancient Scheduled Monument St Benets Abbey. There is an abundance of wildlife, including Barn Owls, Hen Harriers and Cranes among many others. The views from the cottage are open and far reaching, the skies in daytime are big and dramatic, and perfect for star gazing at night. It is ideally located for the boating on the Broads, cycling, sandy beaches, Bewilderwood, Historic Norwich and the Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth.

Stunning !!

Wow, what a stunning place to spend your vacation. We have just returned having spent a week at Ludham Hall Cottage. The property is lovely, and it has everything you might need, including bags of character. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave e.t.c. nice bathroom with roll top bath and a separate shower, along with 2 decent sized bedrooms. The view from the cottage is just exceptional. Completely unimpeded views across the beautiful Norfolk countryside. We saw a barn owl, pied wagtails, and a host of other birds. We are not really bird enthusiasts, but it is difficult not to be impressed with the variety of birds and other wildlife on display.

Ludham itself has a couple of great pubs, with decent quality food. You can walk down to St Benet's abbey and the broads from the cottage, so it is ideally placed. Great spot for exploring the rest of what Norfolk has to offer.

Alison (the owner) made sure we had everything we might need, including Norfolk Honey Cake (which we bought in plentiful supply to bring back North). We really enjoyed our stay, and will return to the cottage for our next trip.

I cannot recommend this place enough.
