About Helen McLennan

The Barn is in the grounds of our family home, so we are always around to suggest days out and deal with any questions. My husband, I, and youngest daughter, have lived here for nearly ten years and love this friendly village and beautiful countryside. We have a collection of animals along with my husbands collection of motorbikes!

Why Helen McLennan chose Wealden

This is a beautiful part of Sussex and a very friendly village. The Barn is located in our half acre of landscaped gardens. The area has lots of wildlife, watch the deer graze in the fields around you whilst you enjoy a drink. Whilst we are rural London and Brighton are very easy to reach making this the perfect spot to explore the south east of England.

Perfect location and perfect size accommodation for our family. Our son enjoyed the lovely garden and we enjoyed the patio area in the evening. We visited national trust gardens locally and the bluebell railway. Near the property there is also a lovely woodland that has been designed to intrigue the imagination, as the owners for directions as its a lovely walk after dinner, there is also a wonderful pub on the way to this walk ! Enjoy !

Beautifully converted barn with lovely owners

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights and loved it. The barn is gorgeous and is tucked away right out in the countryside. The owners are very nice, attentive and helpful. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone else. Thanks for having us, Helen!

Step Cottage Barn

  • 4 of 5

The Barn is a great place to stay, with lots of interesting places to visit in the area. We found the Barn to be roomy and very comfortable with the bonus of a wonderful country pub serving terrific food within walking distance. Helen and Andy made us feel very welcome and we're looking forward to a return visit hopefully next year.

Perfect, exactly what we hoped for.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage and the hosts are perfect. It's in a lovely location, the nearby pub can't be ignored. We eat there two nights & the food was exceptional on both occasions.

The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. There were fresh eggs & milk in the fridge & tea & coffee in the cupboard.

The bathroom is very compact & I suggest that anyone with mobility issues may need to discuss with Helen before booking.

We had a wonderful couple of days there & would definitely stay again when in the area & would recommend without hesitation.
