About the property

Townhouse in Kato Paphos, Paphos and Suburbs, South Cyprus - Restaurants And Market Within Easy Walking Distance. Five Minute Drive To The Sea

Aurora Villa is 20 minutes from the airport and midway between the sea and the old town. It's on a small, attractive development of 35 houses and apartments and has a large pool with sun loungers. We are within easy walking distance of local sites, restaurants and shops. We get excellent reviews from our guests and have repeat bookings. The harbour has an old fort to explore & a wonderful archeological site with great mosaics & amphitheatre. If you hire a car there is so much to see & do in Cyprus, (but because of our position, it's not essential). Driving on the left is easy & roads are not crowded. Paphos has a low crime rate and we are in a particularly low crime area, but we subscribe to a security service to give you peace of mind. We also provide a safe for your valuables and some FREEBIES - Mobile with a Cypriot Sim card for cheap calls home and washing machine liquid.

About Stephen Driscoll

We're Stephen and Tina and we live in Devon. We're semi-retired and we enjoy travelling. We have high standards and when we had a holiday cottage in the UK it was rated 'Highly Commended'. When we decided to buy our place in the sun in 2005, we were determined to provide and maintain the same standard. It's important to us that our guests are comfortable, have a good time, feel they've had value for money and want to return (which many do).

Stephen Driscoll purchased this villa in 2005

Why Stephen Driscoll chose Paphos Town

We wanted a year round resort which was warm in the winter, so we decided on Cyprus. We had a look at the other resorts, but when we saw Paphos we fell in love with it. We viewed several developments and Ilios 2 was easily the best. It's in a quiet area and not too big (35 houses and apartments), but it has a large pool. It's 20 minutes from the airport and a 5 minute drive to the sea in one direction and 5 minutes to the old town in the other. Restaurants, convenience stores and a market are within easy walking distance. The standard of the restaurants are excellent and we've yet to have a bad meal. A further bonus is that you drive on the left in Cyprus and the electricity sockets are the same as the UK. Most people speak English.

What makes this villa unique

It's ideally situated, only 20 minutes from the airport and close to restaurants, shops and amenities. It's quiet and relaxing, but near to stunning scenery and interesting visitor attractions.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Been at the villa 5 times and love it, just like home from home. Everything is provided to a high standard, location is great, shops, bars, restaurants not too far away. We will definitely be back. Mick and Liz

We stayed for 3 weeks & loved every minute of it. The Villa is really clean & well equipped & has everything in it to make your stay comfortable & a real home from home. In a quiet setting of villas & apartments formed in a square around a central swimming pool. Pool & surrounding areas are kept very clean & security is very good with patrols frequently 24/7. About 20 mins walk to the seafront & harbour with so many restaurants you are spoilt for choice. If you want to eat in, shops are within easy walking distance. Sylvie

This is our 2nd visit to Aurora Villa and we will definitely be making a third. The villa is very well situated and both the villa and the complex are immaculate. The pool is a great size and the kids loved it. Sue

Notes on accommodation: This development is ideal for children. Provided seniors can cope with stairs, it's also ideal for them as we're in a level area and it's an easy walk to restaurants and shops. It's a non smoking house, but with the warm weather, it's no problem to smoke outside. All utilities such as electricity, aircon and heating are included in the price. (some owners charge extra). We take 4 people and a baby and cots, high chairs and a welcome pack are available from our cleaning company for a small charge and we can arrange this. We have some experience in getting the best deal on flights and if you would like us to do the research, we'd be pleased to do it at no cost. Outside: There is a good sized patio facing the pool with a garden table and large sun umbrella and 4 cushioned chairs. There is a small planted area with Bird of Paradise plants. The large shared swimming pool has sun loungers and we supply two mattresses for the loungers to make them more comfortable. The master bedroom also overlooks the pool and has a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly. We also provide beach towels. The house is cleaned at the start and end of your stay. Other: There is a communal, lockable pool room/changing room with toilets and showers. If you have a later flight, you can lock your cases there and stay by the pool until it's time to leave.

Very comfortably accomodates 4 adults. Very, very well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in late June 2017 and the weather was lovely (although shade was needed for the early afternoon). Very nice warm large pool and the facility was not very busy hence fairly quiet.

Excellent direction provided by the owner coupled with good security arrangements made the holiday all the more enjoyable. We did have a problem early in our stay but that was rectified immediately by the owners to our complete satisfaction.

This villa is very well equipped and clearly loved by the owners. Maps showing personal recommendations included.

Plenty of local, well stocked shops and the Sea front (free parking) is only a 4 -5 min drive.

Only down side was having to leave at the end of our stay.

Good villa with good facilities

  • 5 of 5

Visited Paphos for the first time and stayed in Aurora Villa. It was a good villa in a good location, everything was about a 10-15 mins walk. Facilities were great within the villa and it was very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything and have helpfully provided information about loads of places to visit including restaurants in the area. I had a great holiday and would advise anyone that is interested in visiting Paphos to consider booking this property.

Fabulous Pool

  • 5 of 5

Everything was provided to ensure a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Excellent initial information meant the holiday was easy to plan, it is located very conveniently to Paphos airport and so was easy to locate. Close to all amenities so whether it is shopping, sightseeing, researching the history of the country or lazing on the beach it is a perfect location. The pool is fabulous, never crowded and just what is necessary to cool off from the August sun.

Villa Aurora - a relaxing and safe island haven.

  • 5 of 5

Villa Aurora is a delightful townhouse, situated in a quiet neighbourhood in Kato Paphos, yet within easy reach of the vibrant town of Paphos. The property is suitable for four people and is within a small, quiet, extremely well maintained complex of similar properties sharing a large swimming pool. The house was spotless, maintained to a high standard and very well equipped. The lounge area, with patio doors onto the terrace, was bright and comfortably furnished, with numerous books, DVDs and music. The kitchen, whilst compact, was kitted out with useful electrical appliances and every possible utensil and more. Sometimes on arrival at a property you're inclined to wash everything before use - not here! Cupboards and drawers were meticulous, with a place for everything and everything in its place. In our experience it was unusual that washing products were provided thus, other than stocking the fridge and freezer, there was little else we needed to buy. The weather was consistently hot, so we were grateful for efficient air conditioning and excellent ceiling fans in the lounge and bedrooms. The master bedroom has patio doors, leading onto a small balcony with table and chairs. This was our first stay in a complex, thus we were wary of possible noise levels and fellow guests. Any fears were quickly allayed as we realised that an excellent security system is in place with friendly staff regularly, though totally unobtrusively, patrolling the grounds checking that everyone and everything was fine. It's a 24-hour service and reassuring that, if any problems or emergencies arise, there are people on hand to help. Many of the similar properties appear to be owner-occupied, thus are to a high standard and the entire site is attractive and orderly, yet creating a homely and relaxed atmosphere. We met truly fine and friendly people and hadn't a single issue with anything/anyone throughout. Never a "towels on the sunbeds by dawn" moment! We had a particularly quiet week and savoured it all. Stephen, the owner, had been extremely helpful from our first contact with him and he provided a wealth of advice and information by telephone, e-mail and in written format in the villa itself. He went way beyond the call of duty and nothing was too much trouble in ensuring our holiday was perfect, including arranging our airport transfer from his UK base. We would unreservedly recommend Aurora to friends and family and hope to return ourselves to this island treasure.

Our relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely villa for two weeks at the end of August 2014. This was our first time to Cyprus and we are thoroughly hooked and will definitely return. The people and the local restaurants were wonderful. We had fourteen evening meals at fourteen different restaurants and never had a bad meal.

The villa was well equipped and comfortable. Our two children (10 & 7) loved the pool and were always reluctant to come out having made friends around the pool.

I would definitely recommend this villa to family and friends as it has been a wonderful holiday and we wish we were still there.

Thank you very much to Stephen for all the advice he gave prior to the holiday and the information book within the villa, which was very helpful.

Nearest Airport
14 Kilometres
Nearest Beach
2 Kilometres
Car: not necessary

There is a blue flag beach a 5 minute drive (20 minute walk) away. It's safe bathing behind a breakwater and you can hire loungers. There's a good cafe, the Deck, just above the beach. If you want to go further afield there are great beaches near Latchi and deserted beaches east of Polis.

Paphos Airport is 15 km away (a 20 minute drive) and if you don't want a hire car, we can arrange a taxi for €30. Larnaca Airport is 140 km (about 1 1/4 hours on the motorway). Hire a car if you want to explore, but it's not essential as grocery shops are within a 7 minute walk.

A motorway runs from Paphos to Paralimni in the east and the journey takes a couple of hours. Limassol is an hour away and Larnica 1 1/2 hours. Kourion takes about an hour to get to and the Troodos Mountains 1 1/2 hours. Polis is about 45 minutes away.

Further Details:

There is so much to see and do in Paphos and we have lots of information at the house. A World Heritage archaeological site is next to the Harbour which also has the Old Fort to explore. Entrance fees are very inexpensive. There are links for horse riding, the water park, diving and cycling below. Power boats can be hired at the Harbour and fishing trips can be booked there.

Kourion is a fantastic archaeological site about an hour's drive, in the British base at Episkopi. Take the coast road and have lunch at the restaurant on Melandra Beach - it's signposted. Other restaurants that are a must are: 7 St George's Tavern (the Sunday Times called it the best meze in the world). Ocean Basket does fabulous seafood inexpensively (€26 for a large seafood platter for 2 with chips) If you want to push the boat out, the Almond Tree serves superb food. It's relatively expensive for Cyprus, but cheaper that a UK equivalent. (Main Courses between €10 and €25). If you're on a budget, several restaurants on the front charge €10 for a perfectly acceptable 3 course meal with wine.

Tip: Bring Sterling as you can probably get a better exchange rate in Paphos than the UK. All the banks have ATM machines which take UK cards.

Horse Riding near Paphos.
