Fantastic base for cycling holiday...

This property is perfect to use as a base if planning on cycling some of the famous tour de france cols. We were a group 12 and found the house to be very spacious, with the added bonus of having a large garage to store our bikes. All the rooms were immaculate , with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen.

The house is only a few minutes drive up from the town and we found cycling up from Aiguebelle fairly easy, even after a long days cycling.

There are some decent restaurants and supermarkets a short drive away but you do need a car as nothing in walking distance.

Will definitely return!

Fantastic stay in quiet, scenic setting

Firstly, Mark's communication to arrange the stay was perfect as well as during our stay to assist us. Guy was very accommodating and helpful on arrival. It is very peaceful, set in the countryside on the edge of the mountain hamlet.

There was everything we needed, and as described. Plenty of space for us all and we really enjoyed the views and sunsets. Modern decor, furniture and appliances. Comfy beds and everything clean and tidy.

Thank you for a lovely holiday, we are glad we stayed two weeks.

Lovely Alpine Chalet

Fantastic Alpine Chalet. Great location with good road biking and walks near by (including from the door of the chalet). Spectacular views down into the valley. Spacious. Well maintained and clean. We had a great holiday and hopefully will go back at some point.

Great base for family skiing holiday

We loved this chalet and its location. It is spacious, well maintained and well equipped. The views are indeed spectacular and there are nice walks in the area. There were 12 of us including a baby and not everyone was skiing so we wanted somewhere that was within easy reach of ski stations (there are several within one hour's drive) but was comfortable and peaceful for those who were staying in. Mark's chalet in Bonvillaret worked perfectly for us. As it turned out, most of our skiing was done in Saint Francois Longchamp / Valmorel which was perfect for our grandchildren on their first skiing holiday. One of the big highlights was completing a 1500 piece jigsaw (except for the one missing piece!) which kept many of the family busy for hours on end. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to be back in the future.

Fantastic base for skiing in different resorts

Just wanted to thank you for a brilliant week at your lovely chalet. We had a great time following all of your recommendations so thank you also for all of your help. We loved Les Karellis, and the children's favourite run became Villivoue (!!!) they couldn't get up there quick enough and then found all the jumps on the way down under the chairlift! Sept Laux had amazing views and St Francois Longchamps was also good, so a varied week. The chalet was very comfortable indeed, so no doubt we will be looking to book again in the future. Modern well equipped Chalet in quiet rural setting

We had a wonderful holiday, enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, valleys and lakes. The chalet is spacious and well equipped, with lovely views in three directions from large windows and open balconies. The property is in a quiet area, but nonetheless located within easy access of the motorway network and we enjoyed walking, swimming, cycling and sightseeing in all directions around.

Special interest holidays:

In addition to skiing and ski touring in the winter, the walking, swimming, road and mountain biking are all fantastic in the summer with marked trails, wild and manned lakes and Tour de France routes/cols. Cols de Galibier, Madeleine, Glandon all in our valley. NB. large garage for bike storage and excellent well priced pizza pasta restaurant at the bottom of the hill. For walkers there are many local trails (see IGN maps in chalet) and you can also walk straight onto the Arc massif behind the chalet.

Travel:

Airports: Chambery 25mins, Grenoble or Lyon 1hr, Geneva 1hr10m. Small gliding/flying/parachuting club airfield 10 mins.

Train: TGV 15 mins St Jean De Maurienne or Chambery, or Albertville 20 mins.

Driving: 7h from Chunnel. SE from Chambery A41, left onto A43 dir Albertville, immediately right staying on A43 dir Frejus tunnel and Turin, immediately exit for Aiton at Peage 24. House 10 mins from junction, either via Aiton Le Plan or Aiguebelle/Randens.

Further Details:

Chalet is very peaceful and in a stunning location - which means nearest shops are 5+ minutes away by car (but there is a bakery delivery). Tuesday is market day in Aiguebelle.

There are 6 bedrooms with two further rooms in the basement reserved by the owner.

Booking Notes:
Our preferred option is for you to first inquire with your dates, number of guests and any questions. Once your booking is agreed we ask for a £500 deposit by bank transfer to confirm the booking, with payment for the full rental amount due 60 days prior to arrival. Subject to inspection after departure the deposit will be returned within 14 days.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is preferred as changeover day, with guests aiming to leave by 9am and new guests arriving 5pm or after - this allows adequate time for cleaning and laundry change. The property is looked after by Guy and Gisele who live locally.

Notes on prices:
Prices will be confirmed with numbers of guests and length of stay, some people book for a month, others book for a week and then stay longer the second time!
