About Jackie &;Bernard Andrews

\We moved to France in 2006 to retire and enjoy the french way of life culture and the people. After spending four years renovating La Chouette we now have completed it and it is our pride and joy. After a 20 year dream of moving to France we eventually found a place where we could enjoy the calmness and countryside space and freedom with all our animals. It is such a great place for walking, riding and cycling.

Jackie &;Bernard Andrews purchased this farmhouse in 2006

Why Jackie &;Bernard Andrews chose Loudeac area

Langourla is ideal for exploring the countryside on foot bike or on horseback so we decided to buy a property with over 5 hectares for the horses and with a gite to renovate. It has the best of both worlds being in the country but only 40minutes drive to the Emerald coast and important towns. The village of Langourla has a great community spirit being only 2 kms away with bars and a few shops

Guestbook comments from the owner

La Chouette is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. We were very impressed with how well equipped it is and the Welcome Pack was fantastic.

We loved being out in the countryside but was close enough to get to fantastic beaches within 40 minutes. It was perfect for us as a family with younger children with the enclosed garden and games provided and we made good use of the BBQ and patio furniture The highlight of the holiday for the kids was riding Circo who now has two major fans! La Chouette, Langourla, Brittany.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely week at the above farmhouse, guests of Jackie and Bernard Andrews. They were most welcoming and Jackie had prepared food and wine for our arrival which was an unexpected and most pleasant surprise. The accommodation was excellent, as was their hospitality and helpfulness in answering our queries. Our overall impressions were that we entered as guests for the week and left as friends.

We cannot praise them, or the accommodation highly enough!

Great Location And Fantastic Gite

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home from a weeks holiday at La Chouette, we loved it. The Gite is charming and very spacious, modern and clean. The owners Bernard and Jackie have most definitely taken a great deal of care to provide a perfect holiday home. Everything you may need is there from Board games and a large book selection, CD player, English TV and DVD's. Washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is very large, safe and secure which is ideal if you have dogs or young children. There is badminton net and table tennis as well as sun beds, patio eating area and a BBQ, all of which is private. The stables are an added bonus and our daughter had a great time with Jackie, mucking out and riding the Horses. The walks in the area are great and our dogs loved the steam in the woods. You have to try the home cooked meals, absolutely delicious. Bernard and Jackie are perfect hosts and we will definitely be back.

Fantastic Holiday Property

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful two weeks staying at La Chouette. Bernard and Jackie were fantastic hosts, and you can even order an evening meal freshly cooked to be delivered to your door after a long day out sightseeing! The horses are an added bonus and you can book riding sessions which both my teenage children took advantage of. The garden has table tennis and badminton plus a nice patio with BBQ - it is secluded and a brilliant chill out space after a hectic day at the local markets. The gite itself is so comfortable with everything you need to enjoy your stay, I can fully recommend this to anyone looking for a brilliant holiday in France.
