Apartment in Theoule sur Mer, Provence-Alpes-Cote DAzur, France - Minutes Away From The Beach, 10 Miles From Cannes, 26 Miles From Nice Aiport

This ground floor apartment is located in an attractive provence-style village (Rocamar) in Miramar, adjacent to the 4* Miramar beach hotel. Miramar is half-way between San Raphael and Cannes on an unspoilt and picturesque part of the coast, with red rocks and lovely views. It has its own marina and sandy beach within an easy walk. The nearest town (3 miles away) is Theoule-Sur-Mer. Rocamar is set in lovely mature landscaping. It is very secure, with electronic gates and a private car park; there is a residents’ pool, children’s play area, badminton/table tennis and boules area. This is the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. The nearby beach is safe for swimming and offers a great selection of water sports. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance. By car, the shopping and nightlife of Cannes is just 20 minutes away. There are plenty of sporting activities and many places to visit in the area.

Wonderful location

We were delighted to stay in this lovely apartment. We are a family of four with children aged 3 and almost 5. The apartment has amazing views over the sea from a beautiful and very large terrace. We were so happy when we first saw the view on the first day. The large terrace has a dining table with six chairs and four sun loungers. There is a roll out sun shade as well for very sunny times. . The terrace is fenced off and you can see the shared pool from it.

The apartment is well kitted out and has all that you need. The children loved the bunk beds. The kitchen has recently been replaced and was really good and there is also free wifi which we appreciated.

The apartment is in a secure development so safe for children and has a great swimming pool. The beach is a 5 to 10 minute walk down the hill, so not far. It is a good location to bring your family if you love to swim /play on the beach in the morning then home for lunch and a short sleep on the terrace followed by pool or beach again in the afternoon. The red rocks of this part of France make it a beautiful location.

There is plenty of car parking and a good large supermarket a few miles away. You can explore further afield eg Cannes, La Napoule, Cavalaire, St Tropez, St Raphael, Agay which we did a bit but most of the time we enjoyed the restful time, sea air and stunning views from the apartment.

From start to finish Debbie was a pleasure to deal with. She was well organised and promptly answered all our questions with honesty and really cared. When we needed to contact her during the holiday she responded promptly and efficiently. We are so grateful to her.

For the price it is good value and makes a great holiday.

We would love to go back one day if we return to this part of France. We cannot recommend it more highly.

Location

My parents owned the apartment from new and were amongst the first residents of the development; I have owned it for the past 10 years and had many happy family holidays here. This is a very picturesque area; many people comment that it is one of the most unspoilt areas of the Cote d'Azur. Time just slips away here! It's perfect if you just want a relaxing beach holiday or a base for exploring the area - there is plenty to see and do in the area.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

It is about 7 minutes’ walk (or a few minutes' drive) down to the picturesque La Figueirette marina and the beach beyond. The beach is sandy and safe for children; there are watersports, pedaloes and sunbeds to hire and a beach bar/restaurants. There are also good beaches at Théoule (less than 10 minutes drive away) and along the coast road in both directions. Agay (15 minutes drive) is a very popular small beach resort with a long sandy beach and plenty of water sports.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Nice, about 40 minutes’ drive away. It is an easy journey from the airport to the apartment, along the A8 motorway (leave at Junction 40), followed by a 20 minute drive along the coast road. Alternatively, Marseilles is around a two hour drive away.

From the UK the drive takes about 12 hours from Calais.

The nearest rail stations are Le Trayas and Theoule.

The use of a car is strongly recommended for this holiday.

Further Details:

For food shopping, there is a small general store in La Trayas (1.5k/1 mile), a small, well stocked supermarket (Petit Casino) in Theoule and a hypermarket (Geant in Mandelieu (15 minutes’ drive). In peak season, there are small local markets at La Figueriette marina and in Théoule.

There are restaurants within walking distance and along the coast road.

Théoule has good beaches, a selection of restaurants, small number of shops and tourist office, with internet access.

There is a wide range of watersports available at nearby Figueirette beach and around 10 golf courses in the area, including Cannes/Mandelieu golf course a 15 minute drive away.

For walking and picnics, the Esterel National Park is on the door step. There are plenty of pretty surrounding villages to explore. Don’t miss the many firework displays in summer!

Great family days out include visiting Cannes, boat trips from Theoule to the Iles de L’Erins, Marineland at Biot, St Tropez (by boat from San Raphael, 40 minutes drive away), the Gorges de Verdun and Monte Carlo (by car or train).

This is a tourist area, so there is plenty to do, particularly in the height of summer. A good starting point is to visit the tourist office in Theoule (which also has internet access) for information on attractions and a list of local markets.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is on the ground floor, with one apartment above. It is around 50m2. It sleeps four people comfortably. Double doors from the main bedroom and living area open on to the terrace, making the apartment very airy in summer. Fans are provided in both of the bedrooms. Pets are not allowed and the accommodation is non-smoking. Free secure parking (behind electronic gates) is available; there is always plenty of room even in peak summer. Outside: An outstanding feature is the large 70m2 tiled terrace and small garden surrounded by a mature hedge, giving great privacy. It has views of the sea and mountains and overlooks the swimming pool below. There is patio furniture - table/chairs and sun beds - and a large pull-out sun shade. This is a great place to relax, sunbathe and eat al fresco. The swimming pool (6m x 15 m) is exclusively for residents. It is surrounded by mature plants and has views of the seat. It is floodlit, for enjoying night swims up to 10.30 pm. It is not heated and can be chilly out of season. Plenty of sun loungers are provided at the pool for guests’ free use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets/pillows provided. Guests should bring their own bed linen/towels. Cleaning is arranged after each rental at a cost of 50 Euros (payable to our agent on arrival).
