The Owl and the Pussycat is situated in the up market suburb of Kommeno.It is located 9 km north of Corfu Town on the eastern coast of the island between the resorts of Gouvia and Dasia. Two beautifully furnished apartments are set within the gardens of a private home and offer both comfort and privacy. This central location allows for easy access to both the north and south of the island. The apartments are situated a mere 50 meters from the sea overlooking Govino Bay and Gouvia Marina. Kommeno is a peaceful and tranquil area making it perfect for unwinding and relaxing yet only minutes away from a multitude of amenities. For a home away from home The Owl and the Pussycat is a charming alternative to hotel accomodation with local tavernas, restaurants and shops all just a short walk or drive away.

About Eleni Mavrokefalou

We moved to Corfu from South Africa when we bought the property. I am a cat person, with 5 cats at home plus 2 rescued dogs and my husband collects owls which led us to choose the name, The Owl and the Pussycat, for our property. The poem was written by Edward Lear and he spent many years in Corfu.

When we first saw the property it was love at first sight. It was a plain concrete shell but the location with the view captured our hearts and the dream of running holiday apartments combined with home after much hard work became a reality. We look forward to welcoming our guests and aim to provide something special to make their Corfu holiday a memorable one. We are always available for a chat or advise needed to enjoy all that Corfu has to offer.

What makes this apartment unique

The Owl and the Pussycat is off the main arterial routes without being isolated and detached. We have found a wonderful balance of tranquility and at the same time proximity to the action in the resorts of Gouvia and Dasia when needed. The immediate area has some excellent restaurants and the peninsula of Kommeno offers lovely walks.

The Owl and the Pussycat is located 9 km from Corfu Airport and 8 km from the port connecting to Italy and Greece mainland. Transfers to and from the apartments is a service provided to all guests. There is a regular bus service to Corfu Town a few minutes away. Alternatively a car is useful to allow an extensive exploration of the island. Ample and secure parking is available on the premises.

  • Notes on accommodation: Washing machine available for the apartments with separate own washing lines. The apartments have air conditioning and central heating for cooler periods and are equipped with satellite TV and a DVD player.The apartments are serviced twice a week with linen and towel changes. There is a no smoking rule in the apartment and pets are not allowed. The Owl apartment is a ground floor unit and might be more suitable for younger children allowing easier access to the gardens. A basic starter pack of tea, coffee etc. is provided on arrival. Outside: The apartments have their own balcony and access to the gardens of the property which is securely fenced and private. The swimming pool is 6 x 4 meters and the poolside amenities include sun loungers, barbeque and a shaded pergola with table and chairs for dining or reading a book.
