An apartment (45m2) on the 1st floor with breathtaking views over the mountains, close to the shops, bars and many restaurants. In the centre of the village you will find several local ski schools, including Ecole Ski Francais (ESF) and the award winning New Generation ski school, which has established itself as the ski school of choice for most British visitors to the resort.

A wonderfully light and centrally heated warm apartment with large balcony, views up and down the mountain. 1 double bedroom with shower and washbasin, 1 twin bedroom, dbl sofa bed in living area. 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower, washbasin and heated towel rail. 1 separate toilet. There is a good supply of hot water for that good soak at the end of the day. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, electric oven and halogen 4 hob. Dining table, 6 chairs, flat screen tv with Sky, DVD, CD/radio, iPhone/iPad dock. Ski locker on ground floor, table & chairs on balcony. Courchevel 1650 (Moriond) is a lovely friendly family resort, wonderful for all levels of skiing, if you want to explore more take the free ski bus (Navette) which stops just opposite the apartment to Courchevel 1850 or all the way down to Le Praz, these buses are very frequent.

Please note this apartment is ski in and ski out but obviously you do need snow, the French are very good at keeping all the main pistes covered with man made snow if weather conditions demand this, so you can ski to every main lift but you will not be able to ski the small paths if the snow conditions are bad.

Chez Moule is situated just a 5 minute walk from Courchevel Moriond [Née 650]. Sibling to the royal and celebrity-favoured resort of 1850, Moriond is packed with all the charm and character of a perennial Christmas card with plenty of eating, drinking, leisure and shopping options for all.

It has an excellent selection of supermarkets now catering to the clean eating brigade with plenty of vegetarian and dairy free alternatives, though you are better advised to do your weekly shop at the vast Super U hypermarket on your way up the mountain in Moutiers if you aren’t planning on eating out every day. In our experience, most private transfers will stop here if asked nicely!

Restaurant options are happily plentiful in Moriond, with the most recommended being La Portetta, recently acquired by Gordon Ramsey-trained Angela Hartnett. This Italian gem in the Alpine crown is surprisingly easy on the wallet, serving Italian influenced mountain food with a nod to the local Savoyard cuisine. Grab a piste-side seat or nestle inside next to the roaring open fires and enjoy sublime Italian fayre in the most resplendent of interior and exterior surroundings.

For something a little different, with the emphasis on little…book a table at La Cabane, a bijoux but perfectly formed alpine cabin restaurant smack bang in the middle of Moriond, serving up fresh oysters and seafood as well as wood-fired pizzas in a cosy setting. The cabane itself fits maximum 20 people, including the bar staff, and serves their very own home-made ‘poire’ aperitif for the

perfect post powder pick me up.

The best apres-ski bars in our opinion are the Schuss bar for that classic alpine feel of cow skin rugs and wooden beams and then onto the Funky Fox to dance into the small hours with an excellent music programme ranging from cutting edge EDM DJs to live bands.

Leisure options

No-snow days are no longer a problem in Courchevel, if you just fancy a day off or a post-slope pamper session, head to the newly opened Aquamotion – a breath-taking aquatic centre occupying 10,500 sqm, boasting 11 pools including two outdoor heated pools a salt water meditation pool as well as a spa area , restaurant [part of the Nikki Beach group] and plenty of exhilarating slides and diving pools to keep a whole family busy for hours. It’s open 7 days a week and is easily accessed via three escalators situated next to the Pain D’Antan in Moriond town centre, which lead directly to Aquamotion. Take your own towels if you can, as it’s 5 EURO to hire them, and don’t forget to enjoy a crisp glass of prosecco post-swim in the beautifully stylish bar on the first floor to complete your alpine-aquatic adventure.

Skiing in Courchevel

The newly constructed Moroind ski lift is seconds from L’Ariondaz, making it super-simple to access the pistes of 1650 and 1850 with minimal effort, it also means to can ski right to the door when you’re finished for the day. Courchevel has excellent skiing options for all abilities from the learner to the expert. Ski New gen www.skinewgen.com is a great option for lessons should you want them and conveniently meets opposite Rocky’s Bar in the town centre, for the more advanced, there are a multitude of more challenging pistes and even a large snowpark with rails, jumps and a slalom should you be feeling particularly daring.

The variety of on-piste lunch and vin-chaud options are vast, choose in 1850 from the salubrious Chalet Des Pierres to catch some glorious spring season rays relaxing outdoors on the decking complete with live DJ, jazz band and ice rink for the kids or the recent royal favourite Les Airelles for the last word in alpine opulence. These are more pricey options, but 1850 isn’t without more affordable alternatives, like the 25 euro, 3 course menu at L’Aventure and The Floor at the bottom of the Verdons piste. If you’re staying local in 1650 – The Casserole is a great option with a stunning restaurant and outdoor area for on-piste people watching, or ski down to the afore mentioned Portetta for a bit of fire-side R&R.

From December – March, night-skiing in 1850 is available and one not to miss – you’ll often catch an awe-inspiring fireworks display as you wind your way down a floodlit piste for a truly unforgettable experience.

Whatever your preference, ability and budget Courchevel has it all and Chez Moule is the perfect pad to experience it all – Bon voyage et Bon ski!

Hello we are the owners of Chez Moule Joanna and Graham, we bought this apartment in Courchevel 1650 because we fell in love with the views and the easy access to the slopes, the apartment was very dated when we bought it and we spent the best part of a year travelling back and forth refurbishing it so that we could spend family holidays in a relaxing and comfortable place. We have made many friends in Courchevel 1650 and it is now like being at home, drinking and eating in the many good restaurants and bars, we have also spent time in the summer, fishing and walking also bike riding from 1850 down to Bride Le Bains, past an old World War 2 bunker and the many lovely villages. We have watched the Tour de France from the balcony absolutely amazing and not to be missed if in this area again.

Great apartment in a great location, so easy to acess everything, apartment is well equipt and we stayed in watching films and cooked as much as we sampled the great restaurant list suggested. Comfy beds and good wifi.

Superb apartment. Spollessly clean. Really well equiped. Fantastic location and amazing views of the mountains from every window. Amazing to wake up in the morning and see those views. Ski bus stop just outside. Huge boot room and ski storage. Can ski in and out. Position superb - near enough to go up to 1850, lifts just outside back door, lovely and quiet but close to 1650 to walk down and eat, drink or shop. A gem of a find. We'll be back.

Best ski holiday so far..super location and ski slopes at the back door!! So great for those wanting an easy holiday.. no humping kit around... so would be ideal for families too. Good spacious storage on ground level. Excellent skiing overall with some fantastic bars and restaurants etc at 1650/ 1850 we usually stay in hotels but really enjoyed this apartment. Lovely balcony.. beautiful views and all so nice we stayed in couple nights and cooked. breakfast one morning included a hot air balloon sailing past the balcony.. just stunning. Would highly recommend this lovely apartment... a credit to the owners. We'll be back!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Chambery at 106 Kilometres Nearest Ski : Marquis at 0.5 Kilometres

Travel:

Flights to Chambery, Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble, car hire being a good idea but not essential, Flybe, Easy Jet, Ryan Air all fly into these resorts at certain times of the year. Transfers up the mountain by 3VT, Cool Bus Co, Altibus and ATS vary in transfer time and cost depending on which airport you fly into. Snow Train is a fun alternative, this is Eurostar from Waterloo-Paris then the Snow Train (TGV) to Moutiers (20kms from Courchevel). Driving yourself gives you the freedom for shopping.

Further Details:

There are many local shops selling typically Savoie style gifts to take home, a wonderful bakery, supermarkets, english speaking ski rental shops, superb bars and restaurants. A very plush new hotel built in traditional Savoie style with excellent restaurant and bar beneath and for the ladies some wonderful ski wear shops but leave your other half on the slopes! or at Fire & Ice (The Portetta) having a cold beer and relaxing on their comfy sofas by their amazing fire pit watching everyone come down the piste. Also superb for apres ski.

Between 1650 & 1550, the old swimming pool complex is being replaced by a brand new Aqua centre which will open in 2015 and include a luxury new pool complex, wave pool, surf pool, spa and wellness centre together with tennis courts, climbing wall, basketball court and restaurant.

In summary, Courchevel Moriond has everything. Excellent north facing ski slopes which retain the sun late into the afternoon and always seem to have the best snow conditions in the Three Valleys ... no wonder Courchevel Moriond is known locally as 'The Sunny Place' and has gained a well deserved reputation as THE PLACE to stay ...and play ....in Courchevel.

A £250 or 25% deposit will secure the booking with the full balance being paid 8 weeks prior to arrival by either cheque or bank transfer, we ask for a £250 damage deposit which will be returned via bank transfer 1 week after your departure thus allowing the cleaner to check for any damage or breakage, we ask that you tell us of any damage discovered at the apartment within 24hrs of your arrival. Our booking conditions sent on confirmation of your booking will give details of cancellation fees. We strongly advise you to have adequate travel insurance in case you have to cancel your booking with us.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is our changeover day but we can sometimes be flexible, our cleaners arrive on your day of departure at approximately 9am, we ask for your assistance in being ready to leave as they have a very busy schedule. You can leave suitcases in reception

Notes on prices:
All prices are based on 4 people sharing, there is an additional charge of £50 per extra person up to a maximum of 6 people (this is to cover the cost of bed linen/hot water etc) per week.
We also charge a Taxe de Sejour per guest over the age of 13 years and this is currently 1 euro per night, this will be collected with the final payment and based on the current exchange rate.
If you are paying via bank transfer any bank charges must be paid by you.
Sometimes we have multiple enquiries for the same week and this will be secured by a first come first served basis ie whoever pays the deposit first .

There are shutters on all the windows, this is ideal if you need to shade the rooms or have a well deserved lie in, please ensure nothing obstructs these shutters when closing them, if you do, stop the shutters by the electronic remote not by pulling out the obstacle as this will break them.
