Beautiful and comfortable villa

We had a wonderful time here, location is pretty convenient for nearby towns and beaches although best if you have a car, and views, particularly from the pool and main terrace, are fantastic. The villa was really attractive, spacious, comfortable and well appointed - plenty of cooking facilities for serious self-catering if that's what you are into, although as good for throwing some bits together from local shops. Was possible to keep cool enough even though in the week we went temperatures shot up to 40+. The owner provides a comprehensive and very helpful guide to the property and suggestions for restaurants (local and further afield), cafes and places to visit that we found to be spot on.

Thought this was great value for money and it would be my first choice when returning to this part of Crete (which I hope to!).

Beautiful Modern Villa in Quiet Location

Highly recommended. Villa is very modern, spacious & well equipped & the owners could not have been more helpful. The location has glorious views to the mountains from the balcony & swimming pool side & from the roof terrace you can also see the sea in the distance.

The location is very quiet & for sure a pleasant & relaxing holiday is assured.

It is only a short distance to drive to Almyrida which has some great Tavernas & is a nice place to swim or chill out on the beach. Or you can take a longer drive to Frangokastello or to walk the Imbros Gorge enjoying a fantastic drive through the mountains en-route.

A car is essential for this property.

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes drive to sandy beaches at Almyrida/Kalyves. 30 minutes secluded valley track to Almyrida. Spectacular beaches of Stavros and Phalasarna about 45 mins easy drive. Boat trips to Balos Bay from Kissamos (50 mins to Kissamos, regular boats from marina).

Travel:

Chania airport 35 mins easy drive. Heraklion 2 hours by car.

Distances:

10 minutes walk to Douliana village. Market town of Vamos 5 minutes drive. Picturesque Gavalochori village 5 minutes drive. Fishing villages of Kalyves/Almyrida 5 minutes drive. Venetian port of Chania 25 minutes drive. Venetian port of Rethymnon (with castle) 35 minutes drive.

  • Notes on accommodation: Children aged from age four upwards are welcome at Villa Adrasteia, though the sloping location makes Villa Adrasteia unsuitable for those of unsure footing (young or old). Free WiFi is available in the main living (mobile broadband at about 2.5Mbps). Outside: Large pool (8.5m x 4.5 max depth 1.6m) surrounded by private pool terrace with parasols, loungers and tables, main terrace overlooking pool and roof terrace with parasol, lounger and panoramic 360 degree views of mountains and distant sea (Souda bay). The house is surrounded by a secluded grove of mature olive trees. Utility Room: Washing machine in main bathroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning/towels/linen included, maid service once per week, pool service twice per week. Other: Large mezzanine with double day-bed and electric fan, access to roof terrace.
