Set around pretty landscaped gardens the complex was carefully crafted to combine traditional design elements with imposing arches and stonework yet built with modern and innovative architecture that give the property a welcoming sense of warm and depth. Guests are ensured a comfortable stay with the elegant apartment that offers plenty of space along with a private balcony and there is a great range of facilities available to all guests that will help make your stay a relaxing one. You can enjoy the use of 2 outdoor swimming pools, a great way to enjoy the sun or alternatively you can use the great spa and fitness facilities with a gym and a steam bath, jacuzzi and massage treatments perfect to help you unwind.

About Maurice Dowling

I live in Manchester with my wife Caroline. We have 2 children who have both left home now, our son lives in Manchester and our daughter lives in London.

Caroline works in the local hospital in the oral surgery department. I worked for many years as a HGV driver before being made redundant, I was offered the chance to stay with the same company but in manufacturing which I jumped at it thinking I would only do it temporarily until something else popped up, well 20 years later I`m still there.

Why Maurice Dowling chose Mandria

We adore this apartment and all my guests have emailed me after there stay saying how delighted they have been with the apartment. The setting is beautiful quite and idyllic with lovely views of the gardens and pools. We get the sun in the afternoon on the balcony from 3pm depending on the time of year, which makes it lovely to sit there with a apparative before going out for your evening meal.

What makes this apartment unique

We have fly screens fitted to all doors and windows which allows you to have them open without flies and bugs getting in. We have had ceiling fans fitted to the bedrooms for those hot nights along with floor fans. Air conditioning is also fitted to the bedrooms and lounge. I have free WiFi fitted, the code will be sent in the information pack I send out.

We arrived back safe and sound after a fantastic holiday. You certainly have a lovely holiday home and I have no objection to passing on any information. I am sure you will get lots of visitors when word gets around as I have to be honest I thought it was a too good to be true when I saw the pictures. Usually the pictures are fab and reality is rather more shabby. Certainly not this case. The staff running the place were so friendly and helpful and do there best to make sure everything runs smoothly. I will be in touch when we decide to come back to Cyprus.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment boasts full air-conditioning/heating, separate electric radiator. Also includes iron/ironing board. Hairdryer, TV/DVD/iPod dock. We have provided a good selection of DVDs and books. All the patio doors and windows are space saving easy slide to open, all have tinted glass which helps keep cooler in the heat of summer and all fitted with fly screens. All the details and information you need regarding the accommodation in the apartment and for Aphrodite Sands resort will be sent to you on receipt of your deposit. Outside: The apartment has a generous sized private balcony with views over the pools and gardens. We have furnished the area to take full advantage of the wonderful year round climate Cyprus offers. With rattan style sofa and 2 chairs at one end and a large table and 6 chairs for outside dining the other end. The balcony has outside lighting, The resort has two wonderful pools separated by a large water feature, there are sun terraces with sunbeds and parasols for you to soak up the sun. An exceptional benefit is the superb Health and Fitness Spa available to both owners and visitors. The Spa offers exceptional health and beauty treatments, including a fitness room with state of the art equipment, sauna and steam room, Jacuzzi, showers, air-conditioned studio space for classes and a selection of beauty treatments for both men and women, including a variety of massage styles, facials, body wraps and scrubs, Reiki hot stones and reflexology. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen and towels are included, the apartment can be cleaned mid stay if required, this would incur a small charge. Spare towels and bed linen are also included and can be found in each of the wardrobes.

Lovely luxury apartment had a great family holiday

We stayed with our 2 boys and had a great holiday. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. The swimming pools were clean and found the resort to be very peaceful and relaxing. There are eating places a few minutes walk away as well as local supermarket. The owner was great at communicating and we would definitely recommend and return.

Special interest holidays:

There is so much more to Cyprus than just the fantastic climate, and if you are looking for other interests you may be surprised at what you can get up to. For serious walking you can explore the European long distance path E4 which covers most of the island. Cyprus is also perfect for Diving having one of the longest dive seasons in the Med due to the high sea temperatures. If you have a car for your trip you may wish to follow the many designated wine routes a great way to see the rural areas and of course taste some of the local product. How about something on 2 wheels, you can hire mountain and road bikes at reasonable rates supplied with all the equipment you need. You may just fancy exploring the local area which is not too strenuous or go for something extreme you can book a professional tour which will again take you through some great locations not accessible by other means. Add to the list skiing in the winter months in the mountains there really is something for everyone.

Coast/Beach:

A short walk of 800m will enable you to enjoy the golden shingle sands and warm turquoise waters of the Aphrodite Sands local beach. Mandria being a village doesn't suffer from hordes of tourists. Consequently the secluded beach coves at Mandria are often empty or very quiet.

Travel:

The new Paphos international airport is only ten minutes by car/taxi from the resort so car hire is not essential, but would recommend if you want to explore the Island. The local bus runs everyday except Sunday from Mandria into Paphos. Larnaca airport is approx 90 minutes drive. Taxi transfer can be arranged at preferential rates for our guests,details will be sent once booked.

Distances:

Paphos Airport 6kms (10 minutes) Paphos town 9kms. Nicosia (Lefkosia) approx 140kms. Limassol (lemesos) approx 65kms. Larnaka approx 130kms.

Further Details:

Less than 10km east of Paphos town centre, the Aphrodite Sands resort is located in the delightful rural village of Mandria, where as one would expect, the charm of the traditional Cypriot culture thrives among the locals and their rustic way of life. Surrounded by lush green fields and agricultural plains, the site offers residents the perfect environment for peaceful relaxation, whilst being easily accessible to Paphos and all the amenities and resources offered by the town.

Access to the resort could not be easier with Paphos International Airport less than 10 mins away.

A 10 min drive takes you to Paphos Water Park, Go-Karting track & Paint balling all very close to each other. Horse riding can be done in the next town to Mandria or for those who want to hire a bike can have them delivered to your apartment, you can either explore yourself or go on many of the trails with a guide.

Within the village there is a bank, small supermarket, a gift shop, coffee shop, bakery, home made ice-cream shop.

Within the village square there are three tavernas , Fish & Chip restaurant which is excellent and well known throughout Paphos.

Yiannis Taverna is a traditional taverna where you can sit outside under a vine with grapes hanging. George's Taverna on the other side of the square is slightly better equipped for eating inside. On a Friday night during summer months there is Cypriot entertainment at George's. Both Tavernas are exceptional value.

A 5 minute drive from Mandria is Petra Tou Romiou, the birthplace of Aphrodite.

Booking Notes:
To book the apartment we require a £200 deposit to secure your dates. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to your arrival. We also require a breakage deposit of £100 with your balance which will of course be returned after the property has been checked following your departure and found to be in order. Payments can be made by cheque, bank transfer or PayPal. All the info you need will be sent once deposit has been received.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is flexible, we usually allow guests to stay until it`s time to leave for the airport, but may need to set a time if other guests are due in the same day.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
