Barns in Hayle, Cornwall, England - Peaceful And Tranquil Setting Yet Only 10 Minutes From Fabulous Beaches

Taskus Barns (Chestnut and Mulberry) are tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Recently refurbished and decorated in a contemporary country style, the barns are delightful cornish granite properties each with two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen/dining room and lounge. They have been thoughtfully finished with lots of little touches to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable, whatever the weather. The barns have quality linen, fluffy towels, complimentary wifi and much more. There is plenty of parking and lots of space for children to play safely. Yet we are only 10 minutes drive from fabulous beaches and close to st ives, st michael's mount, lands end and many other attractions.

Chestnut is welcoming, comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Kitchen/diner - a newly fitted shaker style kitchen with gas hob and electric oven. Dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and lots of kitchen equipment and little extras. Table seats 4. Lounge with leather sofas, coffee tables, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player and DVD library, IPod dock, books and games

Upstairs, two bedrooms, one double and one twin (hairdriers in both) and new bathroom with bath, loo, basin and power shower.

About the Owner

We bought Taskus Barns in March 2010 to make a new life for ourselves in the beautiful surroundings of Cornwall. We worked for over 20 years in the pharmaceutical events field running our own event management company and it would be true to say we know a thing or two about hospitality and making people feel welcome. Over the last 20 years we have stayed in so many hotels around the world that their good points and their shortcomings have given us a real desire to come up with what we think is a lovely place to stay giving qualty, style and value for money. In fact, somwhere we would want to stay ourselves! Mulberry and Chestnut Barns are the result of our hard work.

This is a lovely spacious cottage in a great location, very close to many beaches and places to visit. Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated with fully equipped kitchen and lots of extras. Judi the owner is lovely,really welcoming and helpful I would definitely recommend staying here, there is honestly nothing negative to say.

Location

From the Owner

We always like a challenge and Mulberry and Chestnut Barns, although very pretty, were looking very tired and in need of some TLC. So the renovating and updating began and we opened for our first guests in February 2011. We have tried to make them homely, stylish and comfortable, and the feedback from our guests seem to reflect this. You can be sure of a warm welcome, a friendly smile and a nice place to stay. Come and see us soon!

Special interest holidays:

If you're a bird lover we have two RSPB nature reserves right on our doorstep at Hayle Estuary and Marazion Marsh.

Coast/Beach:

We have beaches just a 10 minute drive away - Godrevy/Gwithian beach is superb, great for surfers yet still safe for children. If you bring your dog you can take it on the beach between October and May and in the summer after 7.00pm each evening.

Travel:

Airport: Newquay: 64 km

Railway: St Erth: 4 km

Taskus Barns are just 10 minutes from the A30 in Fraddam, just outside Hayle. Full details of how to find us can be found on our website. Although Taskus is not isolated, we would recommend that our visitors have a car to get around.

Further Details:

The quaint fishing port of St Ives is only a 20 minute drive away and is full of great restaurants and cafes, quirky, individual shops, and traditional seaside activities for families. Fames for its artistic light, St Ives boast the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and a plethora of galleries.

And don't forget St Michaels Mount in the pretty village of Marazion, only 20 minutes away.

Within 30 minutes you could be surfing at Watergate Bay (or eating at Jamie's Fifteen), wandering around Padstow (or eating fish and chips at Rick Steins) or just gazing in wonder at the view of Porthcurno beach from the Minnack Theatre - on a sunny day, even better than the mediterranean!

Booking Notes:
A deposit of 25% is payable on booking. Booking is made online at our website.
The balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival and a security deposit of £150 is also require. The security deposit is returned within a couple of days of departure assuming the property is left as it is found.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday although out of season this is flexible.
Arrival time 3.00pm and guests are asked to depart by 10.00am to allow time for cleaning before the next guests arrive.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Both barns are fully centrally heated and complimentary WiFi is included. A complimentary welcome tray awaits your arrival. White bed linen and fluffy towels are provided you just need to bring your own beach towels and cot bedding. Children are very welcome and we have travels cots, highchairs and stairgates available. We also have toys, DVDs, books and games. Dogs are welcome (subject to a just a couple of house rules) but please discuss with owner before booking. Outside: Taskus is situated in almost two acres of grounds and guests have the use of a pretty courtyard, with their own private terrace and barbeque area. Each terrace has a table and chairs, umbrella and a kettle barbeque for those balmy summer evenings. We also have a large paddock where children can play safely and families can have a campfire and cookout or just kick a football around.
