Townhouse and Apartment in Benalmadna Costa, Costa del Sol, Spain - Apartment and House (1st and 2nd Floor)

Superb town house in Benalmadna Costa, situated in a quite & well appointed location named Tambello, translated this means so beautiful we have panoramic sea and mountain views. Sleeps 6. The house is in a modern Spanish residential area & is private to the 12 residents & there guests. It is just a 10 minute walk to the beach, via the well know Avenida las Palmeros (palm tree avenue) walking the same distance inland will you bring you to the beautiful town of Arroyo de la Miel (river of honey) this is a modern town with off shoots of spanish tradition in the cobbled streets & squares, tapas bars and alfresco dining.

A true gem

We were on a playa - tapas vacation.

The house is a spacious, well kept home with two fantastic terraces each with great views down to the sea and up to the mountains. It is well equipped with comfortable bedding and furniture and has everything you need to feel at home. Joy and Jim are marvellous and very congenial hosts and made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful, without being intrusive. There is a good bakery about a five minute walk up the hill with a nice Spanish café. The walk down to the beach takes 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. However we opted for a taxi to bring us back up (5 Euros). The beaches are clean, so is the sea. An umbrella and 2 loungers (with mattresses) cost 10E/day. We found a beach we enjoyed with a typical Andalusian chiringuita (snack/restaurant) serving local and international food at very reasonable prices. There is an excellent train service running from Fuengirola to Malaga that stops in Benalmedana. Train to the airport takes about 20 minutes. I have stayed in many rentals over the past years but I have never come across such wonderful hosts. Thank you Joy and Jim. I would definitely recommend a stay at Tanbello as it was perfect.

Just fab , more like a villa than an appartment.

This property is exactly as stated only better, it's huge so much space with all you need for a fantastic holiday. Jim and joy are so helpful and can't do enough for you and are around 24/7 if needed , we stayed in no 8 and it was so clean and had all you could need , unlike most other rentals ( that get cleared of any food and necessities after each rental) jim and joy leave everything there for you to use should you need it so no need to rush to the shops and buy the usual stuff needed for cooking like salt , pepper ,olive oil tea ,coffee , etc etc I could go on and on the list is endless , and they really do provide a welcome pack as well , as previous reviews have stated . We will be so sorry to leave😩😩. But hope to return soon

Highly recommended

I have stayed here 4 times now if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay that is spotlessly clean with two of the best owners you could wish for then this is the place to go.

Jim and Joy just can't do enough to make your stay the best it could be from the minute you step into the place they always have the essentials you need ie tea milk bread beer water you name it they probably got it for you and when I asked how much they would not take a penny. The appartment is huge but so wcomfortable if we didn't go out for dinner we would make something up and just sit on the huge balcony enjoying the sunshine The main bedroom is massive as well you just get up in the morning and go outside onto the bedroom balcony and enjoy the views which are stunning,It is only 5minute walk down to the beach or 5 minute walk the other way into town there is plenty to do and see there is the railway station just 5 minutes away as well if you fancy a trip to finguerola or Malaga it costs about 3euros a great service. Back to the appartment you have a beautiful pool which we used regularly and just had a peaceful few days relaxing doing nothing but enjoying the sun.will definetly return and would recommend this appt to anyone you will not be disappointed I can assure you

lovely townhouse

spotlessly clean townhouse that is equidistant from beach (20 minute walk down the hill) and the town of arroyo de la miel (15 minute walk up the hill)

House has everything you will need, Jim and Joy are delightful owners, very helpful and informative.

Highly recommended, we are going back in 2016

Beautiful clean 5 star apartment

We come to this part of Spain every year and have stayed in all different places but this is definitely a apartment we will be returning to each year.

On arrival we were met my Jim and joy who had sorted a little welcome pack for us which included the basics like eggs, bread, cereal, milk, juice AND beer and wine!!! Such a lovely thought which saved us going straight out to the supermarket.

The location is perfect, it's out of the town but not that far out, it's quiet and peaceful and the views from the balcony are breathtaking! Walking into the apartment you feel like you should be paying a lot more than what they charge, it is clean, spacious and has all the facilities you need, it's like a home from home.

Jim and joy do a absolutely fabulous job, they are very welcoming and nothing is to much for them, they give you all the information you need and point you in the right direction of things to do and places to eat and drink. They are such a lovely couple and we can't wait to return next year and have a beer with them both. Thank you for making our holiday perfect.

Fabulous Townhouse

Just returned from a brilliant holiday with my hubby & three sons after spending 8 wonderful days in this beautiful house, it is spotlessly clean and exceptionally well furnished. It is situated in a lovely, quiet residential area with fabulous views from both terraces. The pool area is well kept and very clean and to be honest we had it to ourselves for the whole holiday. We have stayed in many private rentals in Spain & Tenerife but none of them compared to this. The owners Jim & Joy are the nicest couple and made us very welcome from day one. We will definitely be returning next summer, if not before that. Thanks Jim & Joy your house is a credit to you both, hopefully see you both soon. Colm, Judith & boys xx

Activity and Interests


Just a 10 minute walk down to the beach, where you will find miles of sandy beach in both directions, with all the water sports i.e. paragliding, jetski, banana boat etc, shower & toilet facilities, cafe"s, beach bars.


We are 15 mins from Malaga airport by car, taxi will cost €25 - 30.00, alternately the train is very reliable, every 1/2 hour, & cheap approx €1.50 each way, then you will need a taxi from the train station, €5 - 7.00, pick up maybe arranged, please ask if required.


20/25 minute car ride will take you to the very tourist village of Mijas, nestled in the foot hills of the mountain, with donkeys a beautiful church & square & one of the oldest bull rings in Spain, again stunning views, a great spot to have lunch & a glass! cheers! If you are not drivers, or choose not to drive in Spain, we can arrange these trips & excursions for you, so please ask!

Further Details:

Arroyo de la miel (train station), is 1 mile inland, a 10 minute walk from the house, it is a modern spanish town, alive with shopping, tapas bars & alfresco dinning.

The beautiful award winning Puerto marina is 1/2 hour walk, on your way there you pass our wonderful paloma park, & windmill roundabout. You can walk through the marina and on into Torromolinos, via the main roads & never see a car. In the other direction by car, you have Fingerola 15mins away (also direct train from Arroyo) Marbello is 30 mins, Puerto Banus is 35mins and finally Gibralter is approximately 1hour 20 mins.

Supermarket, mercadona is 6/8mins down hill, at the beginning of palm tree avenue (very good value and traditional foods, suggest weekly shop here) opposite is what we call tesco"s where you will find all things british, great for the odd thing, but expensive. Back on the roundabout you will find a news agents, which sells English news papers.

Benalmadena pueblo, worth a trip up to see the cobbled streets & courtyards, going on through the village, you arrive at the Buddhist temple, worth a look the largest in the western hemisphere.
