About the Owner

I am a local woman, and my apartment is a self-contained part of my own home. I am very happy to be available to help with your holiday plans and daily needs, or to leave you in privacy to enjoy your holiday. I am always on hand to deal with any problems. I have a great deal of local knowledge and can point you in the right direction to suit your own interests, and help you to take advantage of everything this wonderful county has to offer, whatever the weather. I am happy to have well behaved dogs to stay as well as their owners! I am a great walker and spend many hours walking the coastpaths of West Penwith. You are welcome to join me. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my lovely county.

Property with brilliant views above Mousehole

  • 4 of 5

The property is at the top of a modern estate on the edge of Mousehole with brilliant views over the village and Mounts Bay. It is an easy walk into the village but a bit steep on the way back. If the weather is bad there is no need to go out, you can sit in the lounge/dinner and watch the view through the large corner windows. There is parking in the road outside the house, which is the last property in the road at the top of the hill. There are several good cafes and restaurants in the village. An excellent property.

We were very pleased to turn up at the apartment, after a long drive to Mouse hole, it was very welcoming...... bright, airy & clean & well equipped!

This made a great base to explore this lovely part of Cornwall.

You will never tire of the outstanding view..... such an asset.

Will definitely return at some point & will bring our Border Terrier next time!

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Decided to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary back to where it we spent our honeymoon and we weren't disappointed. The apartment was lovely, cosy, clean and well equipped. Being able to park right outside was an added bonus.Breakfast provided for our first morning was much appreciated. The views were fantastic and we found ourselves spending ages looking down to the harbour and looking out to sea watching the birds and boats. A really relaxing holiday and one to remember. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you Lis.

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

First time we have stayed in this apartment and it will not be the last, have already booked our 2015 holiday with Lis. The apartment has everything you need including a superb view over the harbour. Lis is easily contactable should you require anything, she is a most hospitable host you could wish for. Having stayed in various properties in Mousehole over a number of years this was the most enjoyable as even on a dull day it was pleasurable to sit and admire the views.

A great property, comfortable with superb views. Well equipped, friendly owner. Living room was well furnished and comfortable. Kitchen was adequately equipped and bedroom comfortable. Spotlessly clean as well. We had a great stay and will certainly consider this for another visit.

Location

From the Owner

I bought my house when my cottage in the village became too small for my requirements. I am locally born and bred, with family history going back as far as we can trace in this area, and have had great fun researching my family tree. I lived for several years in London when I was younger, and though I enjoyed the experience I was glad to return to this area, which is very close to my heart.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Special interest holidays can be catered for and prearranged. Guided walks, or help with self-led walks can be arranged. There are many beautiful beaches, the famous Minack Theatre, surfing and sailing lessons, and a great many galleries and studios where the local artists' work can be enjoyed, including the St. Ives Tate. The Eden Project is also within reach.

Coast/Beach:

Mousehole village has its own small, safe, sandy beach within the harbour area. There are also two pebbly beaches and a small, natural, seawater bathing pool on the rocks. Perfect for rockpooling, sunbathing, snorkelling or swimming. There are even resident seals on the island outside the harbour which often swim close to the beaches. The south west coastal path runs through the village. All these are within 5 minutes able bodied walking distance from the apartment.

Travel:

Newquay Airport is the nearest, being approximately an hours drive. The main station is at Penzance, 10 minutes drive from Mousehole, and buses run regularly from Mousehole to Penzance. Car Hire can be arranged at Penzance Station. The nearest european ferry link is Plymouth, approximately 2 hours drive.

Further Details:

In Mousehole there is a small grocers/newsagents for everyday needs. There is also a post office, pub, fish and chips, and various restaurants and galleries. In nearby Newlyn village there is a supermarket, bank, baker, butcher and greengrocer, hairdresser and flowershop. 5 miles away Penzance town provides a lovely high street with independent and high street regulars, banks and building societies, beauty salons, hairdressers, restaurants and takeaways, and caters for most requirements. Tesco and Iceland will do home deliveries.

Facilities

From the Owner

Although the house is relatively modern this means it has light and space, lovely views and plenty of parking, which many of the more traditional properties in the village can't offer. It is convenient for access to the village, but away from the traffic and crowds, so you get the best of both worlds. I can offer a fully serviced apartment, completely self-catering or something in between. As I am on-site it is easy to ask for any extras you may require, such as extra towels, a service wash, ironing or collection from walks or the station if you come by train. Dog walking and babysitting is also available. There is a welcome pack containing local produce, and tea, coffee and condiments are supplied.
