Notes on accommodation: The house is well equipped and comfortable. The thick walls and stone floors keep the house cool in summer. There is continual hot water and there are fans in the bedrooms if needed. Access to the bedroom floor is via a modern 'hanging' staircase which is very attractive but care needs to be taken as the hand rails and banisters are limited. (It is visible at the back of the photo of the sitting room.) Outside: There are summer dining areas; by the pool, adjacent to the kitchen and in the front of the house which are great places to eat outdoors and drink the wines from the local domaines, or to simply relax, unwind and enjoy the tranquillity and the ambiance. There is a portable charcoal BBQ and plenty of places to relax and partake of a siesta or a good book, including a hammock by the pool. A paved pathway leads up to the completely private, alarmed swimming pool (12 x 5m) where sun can be enjoyed from dawn to dusk. The pool has a sloping shallow end going down to 2m at the deepest point. Plenty of loungers and a hammock are provided around the pool and there is adequate shade if needed. The perfect place for a BBQ lunch and siesta! Utility Room: Washing machine, sink, further freezer, iron, ironing board and wc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (including swimming towels) and linen are provided and changed weekly. The property is cleaned weekly. A vacuum cleaner and cleaning products are provided for interim cleaning. Other: The dining area is open-plan to the kitchen and still retains some of the old mill workings. The table accommodates 8 to 10 people.

Perfect gite

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at your fabulous gite in August. The pool was great , really large and a welcome relief from the heat. Having spent many years staying in gites throughout France this has to be one of our favourites. We loved the wild garden and the outdoor space.

Inside was well equipped and all the rooms were comfortable. The area is fantastic, with plenty to see and do if you are so inclined, but equally we were happy to just lounge by the pool and soak up the sun.

I would definitely recommend this gite to anyone .We have already booked to stay again!

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in a number of properties in France and this has to be one of the best. The house and gardens were as good, if not better, than the descriptions and photos suggest. The terraced areas were ideal for eating outside. The pool area was perfect with sun all day. The large garden with a stream running through suited our dogs perfectly. We were serenaded by exotic bird noises each evening and were fortunate enough to have a hare visit along with a heron.

The service provided by the owner was excellent. The booking process was easy and useful information supplied by e-mail. She even helped us to get some much needed medical assistance while we were on holiday. On arrival the property was clean and the owners friends/agents were welcoming.

The surrounding area was also a pleasure with plenty to suit all tastes. We particularly enjoyed walking both from the door and in the Cevennes, wine tasting and the nearby delightful villages.

All in all a lovely property and a lovely area. I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone.
