About the property

The lovely old Quercy stone millhouse is surrouded by its peaceful gardens, terraces and pool; yet the local village of Roquecor is only 5 mins away.

The quercy stone millhouse is approached along its 180 metre driveway which winds alongside the little millrace stream. The house is a carefully restored Napoleonic millhouse which has been greatly extended and modernised over the last couple of centuries and recently further enhanced whilst retaining all of its old world charm, including the little courtyard, old barn and outhouses. The large pool (15m x 7m x 1 – 2.2m deep) with paved sun terrace is set amongst a hectare of gardens planted with mature trees and shrubs. In addition to the large poolside terrace there is a delightful new terrace, under the trees to the side of the house, with its own outside kitchen. The mill is situated in a region of rolling fields, hills and escarpments with bastide towns built in commanding positions overlooking fertile valleys. It is 125km from Toulouse and 175km from Bordeaux. Local village shops are 5 minutes drive away with main regional towns of Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot some 25km distant.

Above all I enjoy the feeling simply of living in a Napoleonic water mill and farm - a life entirely different and remote from my life in London.
