Absolutely First Class

Absolutely Spot On !

Myself, my partner & 11 year old son spent 4 lovely nights at Puddleduck. The location was perfect and the cottage was just fabulous, a true home from home, Janet & Neil have literally thought of everything. Upon arrival there was a lovely welcome basket of wine, juice & cookies with a pint of milk in the fridge - the kitchen was well stocked with anything you could possibly need. There are 2 great Italian restaurants within 5 min walk, to the bottom of the street, 1 left and 1 right. Alnwick Castle & Gardens well worth a visit as is Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnmouth....the list is endless.

Would we recommend Puddleduck........definitely!

Would we return to Puddleduck.......most certainly!

Thank you Janet & Neil, we had an amazing break xx

We have stayed in cottages before, but Puddleduck takes the prize. It is very well situated near the High Street which makes it very easy to access the shops and eateries of all kinds. The kitchen is well equipped and all the home comforts you can think of are provided. Thanks to Neil and Janet for going to so much trouble to make this an extra special place to stay when visiting this lovely part of the world.

Great little cottage

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation was clean, comfy and very well equipped. Northumbria has so much to offer, even when the weather isn't at its best, and Puddleduck Cottage made a lovely base to come home to. The only down side is that it is on a busy road and the bedrooms are on the street side so it was noisy with the window open at night. The little garden was lovely, and the welcome package, including wine, was a super touch.

Charming and clean cottage; easy & comfortable stay

  • 4 of 5

We visited to Alnwick from the US for a family wedding, and this cottage provided a perfect home base. Janet couldn't have been a more accommodating and responsive host - and was very understanding about some date changes and timing of check-in & out. Everything worked like clockwork, instructions were clear and accurate, the cottage was utterly clean and well equipped for our needs, with a very nice welcome basket. Parking easy - and location couldn't be better.

(One tip: if you need darkness for sleeping, wise to bring an eye mask, as curtains not very heavy, and rooms get plenty of light!)

We really appreciated our stay, and may well return for the next family wedding! Thank you

Pretty, well-appointed cottage in great location.

  • 5 of 5

Nicely appointed cottage with everything needed for a lovely stay in this beautiful area. We didn't expect to need to use the wood burner in June but a cold and wet day was much improved by snuggling in front of the fire.
