About the Owner

Myself (Mike) and my wife Yvonne are now both retired and we really enjoy being able to share our home with our guests. Its been a real pleasure letting the cottage as a holiday let and we have met some wonderful people, some who return year after year. Each year we try to add something extra to the cottage to make our guests experience even more pleasurable.

Lovely house

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, well equipped, modern and stylish; the views from the balcony are wonderful and we spent many happy mealtimes out there. The owner was very helpful with any enquiries and it was a great base for outings to Brighton, Newhaven, Lewes and Worthing, as the bus services are very good.I would recommend it as a family house as the two bathrooms are very handy, but care would have to be taken with very young children as the garden has many steps.

There are plenty of shops, eating places and interesting towns nearby. Unfortunately the lido at Salt Dean is being renovated this year, but we loved Rottingdean, ten minutes walk away, which has many good pubs and tearooms, a lovely old CE church and a Catholic church.

There is also a park 5 minutes downhill from the house which is great for games for children.

Beautiful spotless house near Brighton

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in the May half term with four teenage boys and my husband and I. What first struck me was how clean it was and for me that is half the battle. All bedrooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. There was a bathroom upstairs and downstairs, a modern kitchen which supplied everything you needed for your stay and more even a cafetier, brilliant.

The garden was the wow factor. The decking with that beautiful view of the sea was heaven and was used even in our lovely British climate.

The house was in Saltdean which was about 40 minutes walk along the promenade to Brighton Marina which has a huge Asda and also bowling, cinema and many many restaurants another 40 mins will take you to Brighton.

We took our retriever Charlie and all round Brighton they accept dogs in pubs and there are too many walks to mention. Would I return absolutely it was fantastic for the boys who spent most of their time in Brighton and on the beach and for us it was so relaxing. Mike, the owner, made it easy booking from start to finish. We had a great time thank you

Location

From the Owner

The sea and countryside views from the house are what attracted us as well as its location being close to Brighton and the South Downs. We also found it to be an extremely adaptable house being able to accommodate up to 6-8 people. Also its quiet location with no hassle for parking etc yet very accessible for exploring Sussex..

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Please note that as the house is semi detatched and is situated in a quiet residential area it is not suitable for groups of young adults. The house provides flexible accommodation for up to 6-8 guests. For bookings of up to 6 guests we provide 3 bedrooms - 2 doubles and a twin, for bookings of 7-8 guests we can either provide 'Z' beds in the doubles or convert the TV room into a twin bedroom with 'Z' beds, the choice is yours at the time of booking. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom, it has a sloping ceiling with restricted head room - so we recommend this bedroom for children - there is a double bedroom next to it making it ideal for parents being close by, a bathroom is conveniently located just outside these rooms. Downstairs there is a large double and a family bathroom plus a TV room which can be used as a twin bedroom with 'Z' beds. The cottage is ideal for 2 families sharing with their own floor and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside: A truly beautiful hillside garden with a decked terrace leads straight from the house and a further decked terrace lower down in the garden, plus a nice size lawned area, makes for a real fun outside space ideal for families. Equipped with outdoor furniture. The outside areas do contain a lot of steps so this property may not be suitable for very young children or the elderly/physically restricted. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Luxury towels (bath and hand), bedlinen and tea towels are provided and changed weekly. The cottage is cleaned weekly prior to arrival of guests. The kitchen comes fully stocked with sauces, condiments, dishwashing tablets etc etc. Other: A dedicated TV room with settee and 40 inch TV, great for the kids if adults want to dine in the living room in peace! This room can be converted into a 4th bedroom as required.
