Bumblers is a comfortable holiday home that has been in our family since it was built in 1970. It is perfect for family bucket and spade holidays as well as being a fantastic base from which to explore North Cornwall at any time of year. Its proximity to Trevose Golf Club, Constantine Bay and Padstow makes it the perfect house for all visitors, whether golfers, families or foodies! The house has an open plan kitchen/dining area, and a large sitting room which opens up on the enclosed patio. There are 4 bedrooms, one double, one twin, one set of bunks and a large room that can be either a double or twin. There is a bath/shower room upstairs and separate WC, and a second shower downstairs with separate WC.

About Penny Gibson

Bumblers has been in our family from new when the property was built in 1970. It has been the scene of happy family holidays ever since. We have never tired of everything that Cornwall has to offer, whether the beaches, surfing, rock-pooling, golf, water-skiing, cycling, coastal walks, pasties, mackerel fishing. Having holidayed here every year as children, we now bring our own children and they love it just as much as us, for exactly the same reasons. We hope that you get as much pleasure from it as we have.

Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 30 minutes by car.

Coast/Beach:

Bumblers is within a 5 minute drive by car from 7 beautiful beaches. Constantine Bay is a 10 minute walk and Boobys Bay (tidal) a 15 minute walk. It is also possible to drive to these beaches as they have car parks. Life guards operate at most of the beaches from late May to late September. There are stunning coastal walks from the house along the headlands of these beaches.

Travel:

To maximise the potential of the area a car is recommended.

Newquay Airport is at St Mawgan (8 miles)

Bodmin Parkway train station (20 miles)

Local bus service to Padstow and Newquay

Distances:

St Merryn - 2 miles

Padstow - 5 miles

Wadebridge - 10 miles

Newquay - 11 miles

Bodmin - 18 miles

Further Details:

Very good local store at Constantine Bay.

Supermarkets at Padstow, Wadebridge, Newquay and Bodmin.

There are many restaurants to choose from such as Rosel & Co in St Merryn, Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant in Padstow (and many others) and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen at Watergate Bay.

There are banks and chemists in Padstow.

Activities: Surfing on many of the beaches, golf and tennis at the golf club, sailing, windsurfing and waterskiiing from Rock (across the estuary from Padstow), cycling along the Camel Trail from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow, fishing trips and speedboat rides from Padstow.

The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about an hour away.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The rental includes oil fired central heating and hot water and electricity. Pets are allowed at the owner's discretion, but are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. The house is strictly non smoking. The house does now have internet access. Outside: There is a lawn to the front of the house surrounded by hedges, and a secluded patio to the rear of the house with a picnic table and barbeque. Sun loungers and deck chairs are available. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for use at the beach. There is no linen for the travel cot.

Booking Notes:
Please telephone or email to check availability. We ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the booking, and then ask for the remainder to be paid 2 weeks before the booking upon receipt of which the key and directions will be sent. We ask that the property is left in the condition in which it is found.

Changeover Day:
Our changeover day is Friday, however this is flexible out of season.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds (£). Minimum length of stay is 3 nights but we charge no less than 5/7ths of the weekly rate.
