I'm a bit of a wanderlust who has seen the world and decided to find some roots in those bits of the planet I enjoyed most of all. Sue is very much a home-maker and takes most things in her stride. What a Fantastic Apartment

This is a lovely apartment, clean, tidy, well equipped and a pleasure to stay at. The balcony is one of the best I have ever seen, and I have been on plenty all around the world. Fantastic views, good off road car parking, the directions and instructions were spot on, and the owner was a very helpful chap and a pleasure to deal with. Had a great break in Fowey and will definitely be returning to this balcony in the future. Thankyou

Superb apartment with breathtaking views

The apartment is situated at the mouth of the river and there is always something to see. It is spotlessly clean. There is a half mile walk into the town where there are lots of good restaurants. Don't miss the tapas restaurant on the way in!

We'd happily go back for another relaxing holiday.

The Dolphins an amazing Apartment

From the moment we arrived it was apparent we were going to have a wonderful holiday. The apartment is very well equipped and quite luxurious. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning. the sort of place you feel at home in, but with a difference.

Having a designated parking space was a real advantage due to the topography of the town. But everything is within easy walking distance even with a pushchair!!

There is no doubt we will be going back.

Fantastic property, Fantanstic location

We were so pleased to have booked this beautiful property in what has to be one of the very best locations in Fowey.

The apartment was great. The lounge/dining area was huge with a fantastic view across the river to Pulruan and out to sea. It would be best to describe the specification of the property as luxurious. Kitchen is very well equipped and the beds very comfortable. When we were not out and about or sitting on the balcony looking at the boats go by we had could watch a massive 3DTV! You don't get that in many holiday apartments!

The main shops, restaurants and pubs of Fowey are just short walk away and the small ferry to Polruan is even closer. You can spend a good few days just walking around the local area and you will have this lovely property to come back to.

wonderful break

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dolphins.

The apartment was warm and comfortable even in the most inclement weather, and the service and attention received from the owner and caretakers was excellent.

I loved the large spacious lounge and the feature marble fire place, the extraordinary spectacular views and the whole ambiance of the place.

The property was clean and well maintained and in my view excellent value for money, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it even in the height of winter when it makes an excellent spot to get away from it all.

Lovely holiday

We had a lovely family holiday in this apartment with fantastic views and a very relaxing tranquil time. The apartment was very luxurious and clean and fresh. We had everything we needed. Close by are some lovely walks and the small cove. Fowey is a pretty base to explore Cornwall from. We enjoyed being warm and cosy and watching the boats come and go. Everything was better than expected thanks for our lovely stay.

From the Owner

Having spent my early years by the sea I have always been drawn back, as we all are, to visit time and time again. When I decided to buy a permanent holiday home by the sea I explored the entire coast line of England, Scotland and Wales. I was looking for the most spectacular views I could find together with a kind climate and a handsome property. Fowey came to me almost by accident since in past years my journeys along the South Cornish coast had always been diverted on the one way system away from the town centre. But on one occasion we decided to park a few miles out of Fowey and walk back along the coast. What I saw as I rounded the final corner rooted me to the spot, and when I found the apartment sitting in just about the prime spot in Fowey my search was over. Activity and Interests

Nearest Ferry : local ferry to Polruan at 400 Metres Nearest Train : Par main line London etc at 6 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Readymoney at 200 Metres

Special interest holidays:

Fowey has always been famours for its authors, painters, celebrities and its historic interest. It is renowned for its sailing activities including clubs and instruction centres, and is a hot spot for sea and river fishermen alike. But not least walkers and ramblers and lovers of sea-scapes and the countryside.

The Apartment is just a few hundred yards from St Catherine's point (with stimulating views of the entire estuary) and the Cornish Coastal Path. In addition to the coastal paths one of my favouite walks takes me out on the car/passenger ferry - along the well known "Hall Walk" and back finally from Polruan by passenger ferry. On a Sunday I love to take lunch at the atmospheric "Fisherman's Arms" at Boddinick or one of the pubs in Polruan.

The local Readymoney cove is said to have been the inspiration for Daphne du Maurier's "Fisherman's Creek". There are many other examples in the local area which for many years was the home of this famours author.


Readymoney beach is just two or three hundred yards away and leads on to St Catherine's Head and the beginning of lovely cliff walks. And likewise on the Polruan side, which is reached via the passenger ferry, the walks continue for many miles via such famous places as Polperro and Looe and more besides.


Travel by car is well served by main artery motorways which run by the nearby Bodmin or approach via Plymouth on the southern route.

There is an excellent fast rail service which calls in at Par station approximately four or five miles away. Nearest main airport is at Newquay.


The town of Fowey with its restaurants, pubs and shops is a ten minute walk away.

To book you should email or phone the owners. A booking form can be down loaded from the owners's website and a reservation is secured by payment of one third of the booking rate. The balance is payable no later than two months prior to the holiday when access arrangements, directions and the contact details of the caretaker are provided to the guest.

Changeover Day:
Changeovers take place on Saturdays. Access is available after 4 pm and guests are asked to leave by ten am at the end of their holiday in order to give the caretakers time to prepare for the next following guests.

First and foremost the spectacular views are hypnotic and many returning guests all vouch for this fact. As you enter the lounge you are first of all stunned at the beauty and then calmed by the tranquility of the place as you position yourself in the viewing area. The apartment was formerly part of the Penlee hotel owned by the actress's Shirley Eaton family, and as we all know hotels always get the prime spots in any location. It has the enviable advantage of being just a couple of hundred yards from Readymoney beach, St Catherine's Point, and the beginning of the coastal path - yet at the same time being just ten minutes walk from the town with its pubs, restaurants and shops. WiFi in apartment Outside: There is a balcony in a very advantageous position from where the famous Red Arrows can be seen when they perform on fete days at very close range.
