Cottage in Herne Bay, Kent, England, UK - Conveniently Situated, 2 Minutes Walk To The Beach

The newly refurbished cottage is centrally heated and on 2 floors. It is adjacent to the owners property. The accommodation consists of a living room with T.V and sofa bed., dining room and Kitchen. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with T.V , a twin bedded room with dining terrace and family bathroom. An on street parking permit is issued for 1 car. The cottage is fully equipped for holiday living including a washing machine, oven and micro wave cooker in the kitchen.

We moved to Herne Bay in 2010.Doug was a designer and Liz was college lecturer, we are now both retired. We have joined several organisations in the town and we enjoy the opportunity to walk to the many restaurants and the cinema We have very friendly neighbours.

Herne Bay

A lovely comfortable hideaway

My sister and three nephews spent a week in this lovely cottage over christmas and had a wonderful time.

The owners live in the house behind the cottage and share a gate so are on hand should you need anything but they did not intrude upon my sisters stay in any way. Upon her arrival she was given a friendly welcome and parking instructions then left to enjoy a week of comfort in a comfortable and warm cottage (complete with christmas tree and decorations) near to shops, restaurants, pubs, beach and everything Herne Bay has to offer.

Dorothy cottage is a special little hideaway in the heart of Herne Bay.

From the Owner

We fell in love with our beautiful Georgian house with sea views as soon as we viewed it. The cottage was on the market at the same time and we were able to purchase them both. The cottage became our home for three months whilst the house was improved to our liking. The nearness of the town centre was an added bonus, reducing the use of the car.

2 minutes walk to a pebble beach with safe bathing. There is a long flat promenade suitable for walking & cycling. Cycle hire is available in the town.


Herne Bay Train Station 1 mile London 1 hr 40 mins.

Dover Ferry Port 19 miles.

Ramsgate Ferry Port 13 miles.

Gatwick Airport 1 hour 20 mins.

Manston Airport 10 miles.


Canterbury Historic City 7 miles (bus or car). Whitstable an attractive fishing town 5 miles (bus or car). Howletts Wild Life Park 13.4 miles. Dover Castle 25 1 mile.

4 Banks, chemist, 2 supermarkets, 2 butchers shops, 2 greengrocers shops, a Band stand for Summer entertainment, numerous cafes, pubs and eateries including our favourite The Ship Inn. All of these within 6 minutes walk. Mortimer Street where the majority of shops are to be found is mainly pedestrianised.
