Our spacious cottage, originally part of Devon Longhouse, has a rustic charm enabling you to relax and slide into your holiday. Braunton village can provide you with all your food provisions during your stay (be it morning croissants, takeaway lunch or tea, dining out or fresh ingredients for a little home cooking) leaving you to concentrate on visits / trips / activities / relaxing on the beach. The log burning stove that nestles in the red brick fireplace creates a lovely evening atmosphere with which to plan the next day or curl up with a book or favourite film. The large kitchen is well equipped with the farmhouse table providing plenty of room to enjoy meals together. Upstairs, there are three comfortable bedrooms, one kingsize, a double and one twin room, with a fully tiled, family bathroom that has a power shower. There is also a garage enbloc around the corner for your use which will take an average family sized car (We fit an S-max in it).

Spacious and well equipped, a lovely place to stay

Really impressed with this property, excellent value for money. Three lovely bedrooms - the master is huge and beautifully decorated. Great location - 5 minute walk into Braunton village and a good choice of local restaurants and shops. A number of beautiful beaches within a 15 minute drive.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location

Our second visit to North Street proved to be just as lovely as the first time. The booking process went smoothly with the owners providing a friendly and efficient service. The cottage was a real treat with everything catered for. Everything was spotless and the location is perfect for exploring everything North Devon has to offer. Excellent value and once again five star accommodation!

Great house, great stay

Great stay. We always stay in Braunton as love this little village. The house was lovely and warm. Perfectly clean. Had all we needed and more to be as comfortable as we could have hoped. Will surely stay again in the future.

A very comfortable cottage in a superb location

We have had a great week at North Street, a lovely cottage very quietly situated in the heart of Braunton - so easy to get to the spectacular North Devon coast. The cottage sleeps 6 people comfortably with 3 spacious bedrooms, a large and well-equipped farmhouse kitchen and a cosy lounge with woodburner for relaxing evenings by the fire (logs provided). What made the stay extra special for us was the owner, Nic, whose helpfulness & approachability at all times were much appreciated as we did not know the area at all. Highly recommended - we did not want to leave!

Simply wonderful

North Street is a lovely cottage set in the heart of Braunton. Perfect location for enjoying the many restaurants and activities whilst only a short car journey to great beaches. The cottage itself was spotless on arrival with everything catered for. The log burner was a real treat and the cottage is furnished beautifully. The whole booking process was easy with the owners on hand for any queries. Overall a lovely place to stay and definitely the best accommodation we have stayed in in 20 years of visiting Devon. Thank you!

We love the views, beaches, sea air, coastal walks and surfing.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Closest beach Saunton sands,- 5 minutes/2 miles by car.

Additional surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough all within 15 minutes by car.

Quiet and secluded Rockham and Morthoe 20 minutes by car.

Further afield Ilfracombe, Coombe Martin approx. 30 minutes by car.

The South West Coastal path follows these beaches.

Travel:

Use of car recommended although bus service to beaches (Saunton/Croyde/Woolacombe) & Barnstaple.

Distances:

Centre of village ~ 500 yards, village pub ~ 200 yds

Barnstaple ~ 20 mins drive, Lynton & Lynmouth 45 mins drive, Exmoor 30 mins drive.

Further Details:

Braunton village has banks, gift shops, surf shops & surf hire, grocer, bakery, butcher, restaurants, cafe's, takeaways - all that you may require.

There are many gardens and houses to visit, including RHS Rosemoor, NT Arlington House, and The Broom Hill Sculpture Park.

Family entertainment can be found at the Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Exmoor Zoological Park & The Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park to name a few.

Day cruises depart regularly to tranquil Lundy Island (from Ilfracombe) as do cruises along the estuary.

Retail therapy can be found throughout Braunton, but also Barnstaple (Pannier Market & Brannam pottery) & the Dartington Crystal factory at Great Torrington.

There are karting centres, a superbowl in Barnstaple, bike hire to explore the Tarka Trail, surf schools, horseriding and many other outdoor pursuits.

This needs to be confirmed with a deposit (30% of tariff) & £100 damage deposit via cheque or bank transfer, with a signed booking form. Your balance is due 6 weeks before your holiday commences. Your damage deposit is refunded or your cheque is returned after visit pending no damage.

Changeover Day:
Friday is generally our changeover day, arriving after 4pm and departing before 10am. We try to be flexible where possible, especially outside of school holidays. For short breaks and last minute offers please get in touch with us.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The cottage has central heating and a No pet / No smoking policy. Outside: There is a courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage, which houses the log store and garden furniture - table and chairs for alfresco eating. A gate leads to steps up to a small sun deck/balcony with rockery/shrubbed area. There is a washing line, outside tap and water butt for washing wetsuits. Enbloc at the back of the house is a garage for your use during your stay. It will take an average sized familiy car (we fit an S-Max in it - just!) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen provided. Towels can be hired via our housekeeper on arrival. Changeover day is Friday, short breaks and alternative changeovers available out of season. The Housekeeper and Owner are contactable should you have any queries during your stay. Other: A cot and high chair are available. Washing line and facilities for washing out wet suits. Broadband
