House in Cazouls-les-Beziers, Beziers, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

A three storey house in the centre of the picturesque village of Cazouls les Beziers which is a thirty minute drive from the beautiful Mediterranean coastline and the National Park.

Our house is in the centre of the village and is a typical village house .It has three floors with a Lanquedoc stone spiral staircase.

On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with spacious ensuite bathroom ,with large shower ,toilet and wash basin.Utility room with washing machine and fridge .Garage area

The first floor has double bedroom with ensuite ,providing shower ,toilet and wash basin,Bedroom with two single beds.Bathroom with bath ,shower over bath,toilet and wash basin.

The third floor is the main living area on an open plan basis ,with American Kitchen and breakfast bar,lounge with sofas and TV with UK satellite channels,and dining table

The kitchen is well equipped .This is our second home and is furnished accordingly .From the living area you step on to south east facing sun terrace with outside tables and chairs for outside dining and entertaining

The village amenities include three bakeries, 2 bars, 2 restaurants, a butcher/delicatessen,hairdressers ,beauty salon, and a tourist office. There are two good supermarkets just outside the village.

The river Orb is nearby offering the chance for kayaking and swimming.I

It is a thirty minute drive up into the mountains for stunning views and walks.

Beziers town with its wonderful cathedral and good shopping is a ten minute drive.

We are Peter and Jill,and have been together now for over 30 years,and during that time we have travelled alot to different parts of the world but always enjoyed our trips to France.

So much so that we decided to buy a house there.

Peter retired from his private accountancy practice in 2008 and we embarked on an adventure of travel and working in the sailing holiday market.

We always have renovated properties and our skills and experience were used on renovating this French house.

This house is our french home and is furnished and decorated to that standard

We love our French home and our grown up children have proclaimed that they wish to enjoy it aswell!

Why Jill Newbold chose Beziers area

We toured various areas of France by car and light aircraft

We fell in love with the Herault department as it provided that mixture of wonderful beaches both commercial and remote,the mountains ,wonderful walks,bike rides,exquisite restaurants in picturesque locations and local wines.

We never get bored when there whatever the season

Access is brilliant with flights to Beziers,Carcassonne and Montpellier from the UK.The autoroute is 20 minutes away and if you fancy ,you can be in Barcelona in 2 hours or skiing in Andorra in three hours !!

Living the dream

This was our 5th year at this wonderful house. A real home from home experience in a typical french village. Location is excellent for day trips to brilliant places like Carcassonne, Bezier, Sete, Montpelier, Pezenas,Nimes and the gorgeous Marseillan, Meze, Bouziques and the Etang de Thau. Only 20 minutes from the beach and then afterwards a relaxing drink under the shade of trees in Serignan then back home on the terrace to watch the swooping swifts over another vin rose. If you liked Rick Stein's s French Odyssey you will fall in love with it all and want to return.

Nearest Airport : Beziers /Cap D Agde at 28 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : in the centre of the village at 0.25 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Golf de St Thomas at 28 Kilometres Nearest Train : Beziers at 15 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A9 and A75 at 12 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Chai Bon in the village at 0.25 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Valras Plage at 31 Kilometres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Valras Beach which is approximately 25 minutes by car. It has a wide expanse of sandy beach with numerous bars and restaurants to choose from.

However there are numerous beach resorts along the coast some with welcoming beach bars. Cap d'Agde is a buzzing beach resort with many bars and restaurants, and also a water park. There is also a large marina.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Beziers/Cap d'Agde (20 minutes drive) with flights arriving from Luton,Bristol Edinburgh and Manchester.Other European counties are also included.

Carcassonne and Montpellier airports are within an hour's drive.

Distances:

Beziers - 10 minutes

Narbonne - 30 minutes

Cap d'Agde - 35 minutes

Parc National de Languedoc - 30 minutes

Beaches - 30 minutes

Further Details:

There are local shops in the village ,bakeries ,butchers and greengrocer.

Markets twice a week

Two good supermarkets just outside the village.
