Villa apartment in Rayol Canadel S/Mer, Var, Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur, France - Peaceful Location, Short Walk To Beach

This charming villa apartment forms the ground floor of a modern villa set in own large private garden in a quiet area close to sea and fabulous beaches. All our beaches are well maintained, golden sand and with beautiful clear water. The villa has its own private swimming pool. It is just ten minutes gentle walk to our own beautiful Prasmousquier Beach (3 beach restaurants with bars!) and to the adjoining area of Cap Negre. Nearby Cavaliere Beach, with its hotels, club, shops and many boating and water skiing activities, is just around the headland of Cap Negre, and easily accessible walking or by bike or car (there is lots of parking). All of our local beaches (and there are ten of them) are connected by 'le petit train', a public transport system that runs frequently from our location all the way through to Le Lavandou (so no driving if you don't want to!)

The villa apartment has a large, bright living room with a dining area and a small kitchen area and with French windows to the terraces at both the front and the rear. In the summer meals are usually taken on the shaded, decked terrace at the back, with views over the hills opposite.

The living room contains two settees, one of which is a futon. There is satellite TV for all the UK channels available on Freeview and many French TV channels. The recently installed kitchen is fully equipped with a combination microwave oven, a 4 burner hob, large fridge freezer, full size dishwasher and ample cupboard space. All three double bedrooms are light and airy and two have built in wardrobes. The living room and the 3 bedrooms have separately controlled air-conditioning.

There is a separate utility room serving both apartments in the building, equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, drying racks, iron and ironing board.

The private swimming pool is surrounded by a decked area with sun loungers and looks out over the terraced garden full of orange trees, lemon trees, olive trees and others. We have off street parking for several cars.

The nearest minimarket and restaurant are only 5 minutes walk (down to the Prasmousquier 'centre'). This is also where you acces the beach, or pick up 'the petit train'. There are also good inexpensive local buses to le Lavandou, to St Tropez and to Toulon/Hyeres airport. Le Lavandou is a larger town with an attractive port, boating and tourist area, many restaurants and a huge, well-regarded Provencal market each Thursday. Ferry boats run from here to St Tropez (twice a day) and to the Porquerolles islands.

Our rental rates are quoted in euros but payment can also be made in £ sterling by prior arrangement.

Lovely apartment, awesome views

A lovely apartment, in a very convenient location, just 10 mins walk down to the local restaurants and beach (other beaches accessible by car too). We loved sitting by the pool looking out at the hilly views (the pool was chilly, but necessary in the Sept sun!).

Margaret and John, the owners were really helpful with restaurant recommendations and local area tips. We had a great time, and would definitely come back!

Epic place to relax!

We stayed for a long weekend. The apartment has decent sized clean comfortable rooms -all with their own air conditioning - and a big open kitchen/living room area with a couple of sofas and an amazing private patio/garden/pool area where you can sit and enjoy the sun. We walked down to the local beach (about 10 minutes) or took a short drive (5 mins max) to Cavaliere beach where there is windsurfing, sailing, beach bars and some nice shops/local markets. I would highly recommend it for a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Fabulous week in the sunshine

Everything was as stated. A very well equipped and clean apartment with lovely views and a great pool. The local area was fantastic with the gorgeous beach just a short walk away and lovely towns and villages to visit nearby. Local restaurants are all very good.Cycling was also very good with a cycle trail in both directions as far as Le Lavandou and Cavalaire sur Mer. This was suitable for children as the trail is very level being a disused railway line. I would recommend the tourist train to Le Lavandou on Market day, Thursday. Good selection of boats, paddle boards etc on the beach at Cavaliere. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely Apartment in a lovely location

A very clean and confortable apartment with a lovely garden and pool, and a few minutes from the beach in the car or about 10 minutes on foot (longer coming back as it is up hill).

The owners were there and were very welcoming. We had a lovely time and will be returning again very soon.

We have known this area for many years and used to bring our children here on holiday when they were small. We have fallen in love with the outstanding beauty of the coastline and the views out to the islands. There is so much to do, see, explore - days on our really fabulous beaches - so many pastimes on and off the beaches - cycling, walks and views in the hills overlooking the sea - wonderful Mediterranean food - accessibility to town and all our many beaches using the public 'le petit train' - and always a very warm welcome from the locals

Coast/Beach:

The Pramousquier beach is a 10 minute walk away. This is a lovely shallow beach with beautiful clear water and several beachside restaurants and bars. The long sandy beach at Cavaliere (where water sports and sailing are available) is a five minute drive and can also be reached using the Petit Train - a tourist 'train' which links all of the beaches between Pramousquier and Le Lavandou (10 beaches in total).

Travel:

The nearest airport is 20 minutes away at Toulon Hyeres, with daily City Jet and Air France flights. Nice and Marseille aiports are each about 1 hour 45 minutes away if a wider choise of flights is needed.

Toulon airport and train stations can be reached by bus but for the other two airports a car or train journey is necessary.

Distances:

St Tropez is about 20 kilometers away and the nearest town is Le Lavandou about ten minutes drive away.

Bormes les Mimosa is a very attractive hillside town with interesting shops and restaurants about 15 minutes drive. Away from the coast there are many smaller towns and villages in the hills with abundant Provencal charm.

The nature reserve on the Porquerelles islands can be reached by a short boat journey from Le Lavandou.

Further Details:

The nearest shop is 5 minutes walk and there are two restaurants in the same area. There are another four restaurants on the beach, within walking distance.
