Our delighful 4 bedroom millerhouse (new Heating AC - 2016) comprises on the ground floor a large lounge with open fireplace, farmhouse kitchen, dining room, bathroom. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms, main bedroom has a queen double and the other a king double, stacking twin beds in third bedroom to accommodate 2 more people and bunk beds in forth bedroom. All rooms have original beams. There is both a covered front terrace overlooking the 10 x 5 new pool (march 2016) and "beach" and rear terrace, with gazebo, running the full length of the house offering a 360 degree panoramic view. The property sits on a large, fully fenced, 5000 square meters plot with olive, almond and citrus trees with its' own double-gated entrance. Pets welcome for free. Reversible Air Conditioning (2016). NEW POOL (March 2016). Parking place and Carport

A Blissful 16 days

We decided to stay at this beautiful house as we love Cariatiz and was house hunting ourselves around the area, so glad we chose it, although there was just the two of us we didn't feel as if we were rattling around, as large as it is it felt very homely and had a relaxing feel to it.

we sat on the back terrace mostly as the wind was blowing around at the front but as it was this was my favourite spot, so much to just gaze at especially the goats wandering around, a typical rural feel.

The property has everything you could wish for and is very clean, The poolman and a very hardworking gardener pop in and do their stuff, very friendly, not intrusive at all.

would i recommend this property? Absolutely....

downside? yes.... after viewing properties nothing matched up to this place, it really spoilt us and helped us realise what we are looking for ourselves but on a slightly smaller scale. a real gem hidden in the very friendly Cariatiz .

Full of character

We stayed here for 6 days, located in a small village / hamlet. Just 20 minutes easy driving from the coast and easy access to the main motorway whilst providing a rural feel.

The property was spotlessly clean and there were no added costs unlike certain other properties we have stayed in. The owners are friendly and professional and made sure our stay was fully catered for.

The property itself is full of character and provides a flavour of 'old Spain' whilst having all modern conveniences that could be wished for. Plenty of room for everyone and we enjoyed watching the sun from the roomy and comfortable terrace.

Although we didn't utilise the swimming pool properly as we were so busy in the day, it was well sized and the water was warm, even for October.

Fantastic area for touring - especially the Cabo de Gata, fantastic wild and lonely beaches, mountains and little Spanish villages.

All in all, well recommended and we will be staying here again if available.

Idyllic, peaceful location

I spent 6 weeks at La Camarilla and didn't want to leave! The setting is perfect as it is only minutes from the A7 motorway and a short distance to the coast, yet it is set in quiet countryside. The house is spacious and the garden and pool ideal for families.

I would certainly stay there again

Special interest holidays:

Golf (of course!), Bicycle,, Motorbike (circuit in Tabernas, 40 km), Theme parks (in Tabernas: Mini-hollywood, Fort Bravo,...), Hike (a path in front of the door), dive and other water sports, natural Park, especially Cabo de Gata, Bird's watching, Sorbas caves (in the village), speleology, karting, pottery, ...Aquarium (sharks!) in Almeria

Coast/Beach:

The beautiful beaches and chiringuitos (beach bars) of Mojacar are 25 minutes drive and the stunning, award-winning beaches of Cabo de Gata Natural Park, whilst a little further away, are well worth visiting.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Almeria about 45 minutes drive, with San Javier (Murcia) 90 minutes away and Alicante Airport about 2 hours away. Some guests choose to fly into Malaga Airport which is about 3 hours away. Most of our guests do hire a car . The motorways in this part of Spain are always quiet and being just 10 minutes from the nearest motorway exit makes access easy.

Distances:

We are situated less than 10 minutes stroll from the centre of our village and 25 minutes drive from Mojacar beaches. Many of our guests take a day out to visit Granada which is only 2 hours away.

Further Details:

Our local village has a small shop and 2 bars which both serve a selection of tapas and basic meals. There are banks, a supermarket and 24-hour emergency clinic with chemist in Sorbas, which is a 10 minute drive away. The large supermarkets can be found in Vera, Mojacar and Turre, all about twenty minutes drive away. There are numerous restaurants in the area to suit all tastes and these are detailed in our informative information pack.

The Caves of Sorbas are well worth a visit and this part of Spain is renowned for its rambling routes. Indeed, our farmhouse is situated on one of these many routes, right outside our gates. If you are interested in bird-watching and other wildlife the natural park of Cabo de Gata is 30 minutes away and the Cazorla National Park is 90 minutes away. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are a "must" at only 2 hours away. Almeria is also well known for its wild-west theme parks where many of the spaghetti westerns were filmed. There is a large aquapark at Vera, about 25 minutes away. Diving lessons, boat hire, quad hire, bicycle hire and jeep safaris are all available in the area, details of which can be found in our information pack. Serious shoppers can take a day out in Murcia and Almeria cities. Whenever I am persuaded to go with Carolyn I always forget my wallet! There is a local market somewhere in the vicinity every day of the week. If you enjoy seafood we can recommend the restaurants in Garrucha and Villaricos.
