Our apartment is fully furnished to a high standard and is the perfect base for exploring the silver coast. It is opposite the local open market offering freshly caught fish, meat, fruit & vegetables, etc. And a small arcade of shops including a butcher, two bakers, delicatessen, mini market, ironmonger and laundrette. A supermarket is 500m away. We are just 4 minutes stroll from the promenade and beach in the beautiful shell shaped bay of Sao Martinho. Sao Martinho has numerous shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with inexpensive but high quality food and friendly service. Children are made most welcome. Within easy reach by car are the larger towns of Obidos, Nazare, Alcobaca, Caldas da Reina, Batalha and Fatima offering a variety of activities and architectural delights. The coast has many secluded beaches and opportunities for watersports. For golfers, there are three championship courses within 45 minutes drive at Praia del Rey, Bom Successo and Golden Eagles.

We bought our apartment as new in 2007 and have enjoyed many lovely holidays in Sao Martinho do Porto and the surrounding area which always turns up something new to see. We would like people who love beautiful and tranquil places to enjoy our apartment and this special part of Portugal with its friendly people and high quality food and drink.

Beautiful scenery, friendly people and relaxing atmosphere. Never too hot and sticky like some places and No mozzies. Lovely, safe, clean beach and sea.

All amenities such as supermarket, local market, banks, bars, cafes, restaurants are available in Sao Martinho.

For the "culture vultures" there are many places of interest within easy reach. Lisbon, the capital has a great "small city" feel and is just one hour by car as are the nearby towns of Sintra and Cascais, just along the coast from Lisbon.

The walled town of Obidos with its shops and restaurants is 15km away - you can walk all the way around the wall and take in the breathtaking views.

The monasteries at Alcobaca and Batalha are a must see as they are central to Portugal's history and its long alliance with England. Of course Fatima is a famous Catholic place of pilgimage and well worth a visit as are the vast Roman ruins at Conimbriga near Pombal.

Peniche and Foz de Arelho offer great beaches if you can tear yourself away from Sao Martinho.

Multiples of 7 day stays preferred but we can be flexible if necessary. Payments in GBP on booking. A £100 bond is required with the payment which is returnable after satisfactory inspection by my local key holder. Utilities are inclusive in the prices. A charge of €65 per stay is payable for laundry and cleaning directly to my local key holder.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible depending on availability. Arrival after 3pm, depart by 11am, please advise on booking if this might cause a problem.

Close to local open market, and just 4 minutes walk from the beach. Supermarket within 500 metres and plenty of bars and restaurants. It reminds us of seaside holidays when we were kids.

No air con or fans as the apartment remains nice and cool even on hot days.
