Our six welshstone cottages are tucked away within the spectacular landscape of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Offering seaviews over Cardigan Bay and the Preseli Hills, it’s a secluded haven of peace and quiet. North of St Davids and south of Cardigan Market Town, our cottages give easy access to Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. It is a perfect location to explore South West Wales. Comfortable, bright and spacious they are fully equipped with modern amenities, complimentary quality linen and quality towels. Log stoves and open fires make for a cosy stay any time of the year. Each cottage has its own patio, most overlooking our natural gardens. These are perfect for alfresco dining and enjoying the sunset with a nice cold drink whilst wildlife spotting, especially our visiting badgers. Dogs welcome at Cwm Connell Coastal Cottages.

Bron y Felin (By The Mill) sleeps 6 adults in two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom, with an extra childs divan available on request. The large comfortable open plan living area leads out to a private patio, with dining table and chairs. It has wonderful views over the cottage gardens and off to the Preselli Hills beyond, with spectacular sunsets to be enjoyed over a glass of wine. The badger occasionally visits hoping for the odd treat or two. Inside there is an open fireplace giving a homely cosy feel on chillier evenings. The main bathroom has an over the bath shower and there is a second wc. The cottage is full of character having been built on different levels, each room in this cottage has its own characteristics.New

About the Owner

Lisa & Paul Godfrey live at Cwm Connell Coastal Cottages with their three teenage sons. "We've managed Cwm Connell Coastal Cottages for Eight years now. We can cater for up to 34 guests or just 2. When taking over in 2007 the first priority was to improve the standard and grading offered by the cottages. We're happy to say that we continue to obtain a high 4 star grading for Cwm Connell Cottages and a five star grading for Seaview Cottage, from Visit Wales. We have plenty of great reviews from our guests, many of whom return every year. We're very proud of our cottages. We know the area well and we are available, if you need us, to offer great holiday tips".

We spent many a happy holiday here as children and as parents before we moved. We love that Cwm Connell is quiet and secluded but not isolated. Being on the North Pembrokeshire border gives us a choice of exploring Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthen with ease.

We can provide details and at times book exterior activities which can include horse riding, coasteering, guided cycling and guided walking. We have a huge amount of information on local sports and activities available in the area and are happy to advise on them and help you plan your holiday with us.

Coast/Beach:

Ceibwr (a stoney beach) is about a 10 minute walk from the door of the cottages. Poppit Sands Beach is a 5 minute drive and Newport Sands is a 10 minute drive. There are a lot of other beaches nearby and we are happy to advise on which one might suit your needs.

Travel:

Cardiff airport - 2 hours drive. Bristol airport - 3 hours drive. Fishguard Train Station 20 mins drive. Fishguard Ferry Port (serving Rosslare in Ireland) - 20 minute drive. We recommend you have a car to come visit us as we are very rural. There is a local bus 'The Poppit Rocket' that serves the coast route between Cardigan and Fishguard, this bus runs daily (3 times a day) during the Summer season and twice weekly in the winter season.

Distances:

The two nearest villages are St Dogmaels and Newport Pembrokeshire both a 10 min drive. They have a variety of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The nearest small town is Cardigan which has several supermarkets and local produce stores. There are various local produce markets taking place in the area during the week that we can advise on. The nearest large town is Carmarthen which is an hours drive and the nearest city is Cardiff, a 2 hour drive.

We ask for a 30% deposit to secure your booking, with the balance payment due 8 weeks before the start date of your holiday. If you prefer we can also accept cheques and bank transfers, please call us for details.

Changeover Day:
Our changeover day is Saturday, this however is not written in stone and we are very flexible. Email us or call to test our flexibility.

A deposit of 30% is required to secure your booking. The balance payment of your holiday is due 8 weeks before arrival. If you book to arrive within 8 weeks then full payment is required to secure your booking.

Cwm Connell is a 16th century property in a secluded rural setting, hidden at the end of a quiet country lane, with no air or road traffic noise. Our gardens are a haven for nature and are visited by a vast array of birds, butterflies, and even badgers. We have direct access to the quiet cove of Ceibwr Bay which at times you can have to yourself even in peak season. Only a 15 minute drive to Cardigan Market Town so perfect for the odd trip out to buy essentials or just mooch around the array of interesting shops.

  • Notes on accommodation: We can sleep 2 to 10 people in our cottage. All of our accommodation prices are inclusive with no hidden extras. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer facilities. We have storage for bikes and kayaks etc. We also have Seaview Cottage next door which sleeps a further 10 people, you will find details of this cottage under property ID W498. In total we can accommodate 34 guests, we welcome walking clubs and large groups. We can also offer a catering service to our guests. New Mini Spa complete with Marquis Hot Tub & Sauna with views to the Preseli Hills. Available free of charge for guests to book for their own private use.
