It is a large property,close to the seafront, and only just over an hour from Calais !
Great location !
Clean and comfortable, with all the mod cons, and the sea 200 yards away.
The house is very big and even though there is no garden there is so much to do in and around St Valery that it wasn't a problem.
There is a large car park at the rear of the house, and the double glazing reduced any noise from passing cars.
Would highly recommend this property to others, and we have already booked for next year!

Great house ! lots of space , clean and tidy on arrival , well equipped and full of charm and character! Even though there is no garden , the sea front is only a couple of minutes away as the shops and restaurants , St Valery has changed so much with lots more to do and see . The Pradelle family .
Superbe maison , beaucoup d'espace , propre quand nous sommes arrives avec plein de charme et de caractere . Bien equipee meme s'il n'y a pas de jardin . Le front de mer se trouve seulement a quelques pas , la Valerianne est bien situee , proche des magasins et restaurants . St Valery a bien changer depuis quelques annees , il y a plus d'activites a faire et a voir .
This was our second visit at Christmas to La Valerienne and it was just as good as the first. The house is warm and has the added bonus of a log burner in the main lounge. The top floor slept all the Grandchildren with the middle floor accomodating us Grandparents and two sets of Mums and Dads. The addition of a Christmas Tree was very thoughtful and just made the setting absolutely perfect. With two large fridge freezers and 3 supermarkets only 5 minutes drive away Christmas Dinner did not cause a problem. The house is full of character with easy parking right outside and only a few hundred metres from the centre of St Valery sur Somme - a really delightful little town with lovely walks along the river/estuary. Excellent restaurants and cafes abound. The owner is extremely helpful and will assist in any way he can. I would recommend this property to anyone.
Just a few words to say what a great time we had.
The house was spacious and very clean
We had friends who had recommended the property as it is close to the sea and shops/restaurants, and the house itself is truly a little gem, a little quirky in that French style that we love.
Because it is so spacious; it was peace for us girls. The children took over the top floor as their den, while the men enjoyed the table football in the cellar area, and for us a well equipped kitchen with bottle opener,
we'll be back probably in June 2015, as the owner is undertaking a revamp, which we hope still keeps that old fashioned charm.

C'est un super gîte pour des vacances en famille ! Tout est bien sans trop de chichi.
Le gîte est très confortable et à tout ce qu'il faut.
Je le recommande chaudement.
Une maison où l'on se sent bien, et qui est très bien équipée et très bien décorée, mais qui a le défaut d'être au bord d'une route fréquentée, puisqu'elle traverse Saint Valéry. Et le problème , c'est que les chambres, pour l'essentiel, donnent sur cette route.
La literie de certaines chambres est un peu fatiguée (les lits simples) et certaines lampes ne fonctionnent pas dans le salon et la salle à manger.
En dépit de ces critiques, nous avons énormément apprécié de pouvoir nous déplacer à pied jusqu'au centre ville et au bord de la baie; et d'avoir un commerce quasiment de l'autre côté de la rue.
Et nous avons aussi beaucoup aimé le caractère de cette maison!

St Valery is on the coast but for swimming the local sandy beaches of Fort mahon/Berck and Quend plage are all within 30-40 minutes away by car.
Le Touquet is the furthest at about 1 hr bt car.
