The property is set in an acre of terraced, natural gardens, has a beautiful swimming pool, illuminated at night and to the side is a large terrace with fantastic open views across the valley, perfect for alfresco dining and star gazing. The house is on the outskirts of the historical town of Lorgues steeped in history and with numerous restaurants, cafes, vineyards and markets.

About the Owner

The property is owned by David and Debra. We have spent many wonderful family holidays in Lorgues and decided to buy our own home there in 2007.

The house is 200 years old and when we bought it was in need of renovation but we saw that it had fantastic potential and have worked with local professionals to restore it, retaining its original charm and many of the original features.

Summer 2016 Lorgues

Wow! What a stunning find this was. The pictures do not do this beautiful villa justice. We have just returned from 2 of the most relaxing weeks. The villa is finished to the highest of standards, with plenty of furniture inside and out. The pool was a very welcome escape from the glorious sunshine. We loved Lorgues, the Tuesday market was excellent, the choice of restaurants wonderful and all good. We were lucky to be there in festival season so also benefited from live evening entertainment at the weekends as well as a night market. We visited Monte Carlo, Tourtour (the village in the sky), Aix en Provence, Grand Canyon Du Verdon as well as a couple of Vineyards....Chateau De Berne a must! A perfect family holiday destination for all. Thank you Debbie & David for sharing your home and making everything so easy.

Fabulous property in a superb location!

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday and the farmhouse was perfect. The house has been renovated in a real rustic French style to a very high standard which we loved. The views from the outdoor dining area are fabulous which we enjoyed every breakfast, lunch and evening. The pool was great and much needed to cool from the beautiful Provence weather, though there was excellent protection from the sun using the many sunbeds and parasols - just relax and read a book or listen to music whilst enjoying a beer!

Finally, the property is located perfectly for excursions to Nice, Cannes, St Tropez or the Provence National Park.

Would absolutely recommend if you want to simply relax or explore Provence.

Wonderful Week in Provence

This is a really great property that has been tastefully renovated and updated by the current owners. My children are 8 and 4 so sightseeing is mostly a drag for them and so the property and especially the pool have got to be good as we will be spending a lot of time there. Both ticked all the boxes. We lazily whiled away the long, hot, Provence summer days by the side of the lovely pool. We lunched on the terrace with beautiful views over the valley and ate dinner in nearby restaurants. We didn't see any vineyards and only went to Lorgues for dinner. It was absolute bliss.

Beautifully Reatored Farmhouse

This farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and very tastefully furnished by the owners, the photo album with the before and during renovation photos were very interesting. It has everything anyone requires for a relaxing holiday. Property description is spot on, lovely pool and plenty of outdoor furniture and places to sit and relax. Very clean and well maintained. We travelled as two couples and the bedroom / bathroom facilities and layout were ideal for us. All our dining was done al fresco on the large terrace. Apart from a couple of days we didn't leave the farmhouse and made good use of the pool which was a godsend as temperatures were in the mid thirties most days. The whole process from booking to our departure was handled in a very friendly and professional manner, excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this property to others and would stay here again. Gorges du Verdon and lac de Sainte Croix are well worth a visit as well as Lorgues market on Tuesdays.

PERFECTION

This villa ticks every box and then some. It's located in a lovely, peaceful spot with plenty of well laid out outdoor space to enjoy but only a short drive into town. It has been decorated and equipped to a very high standard throughout and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. This one is a gem.

Perfection

What a wonderful old, yet beautifully renovated property to base yourself whilst visiting en Provence. I felt really quite privileged that the owners opened up their home to guests. It has all those homely luxuries, including little thoughtful gifts from the owners. Spotlessly clean, modern provincial decor/furnishing, very comfortable, everything you need. Some days we just 'stayed home' enjoying the pool, sunshine, garden and el fresco dining on the terrace.

A perfect base for visiting many of the small historic and beautiful villages/towns in the area. Lorgues itself has great dining, markets, bars, cafes, oh and not forgetting the artisan patisserie - way too many calories bought there! And only an hour to the coastal French Riviera. Perfect house, perfect location! Gets 7 stars for me - I will definately use this property for my next visit.

The beautiful Cote d’Azur with its spectacular coastline is less than an hour away, with St Raphael, St Maxime, Frejus and St Tropez all within easy reach.

Nice Airport 70 mins. Toulon Airport 50 mins. Marseille Airport 80 mins. Train station (Les Arcs) 20 mins.

Car hire is recommended.

Distances:

Lorgues 4km (5 minutes drive).

Approximately 20 minute drive from the A8 autoroute.

The property is 4km from Lorgues a town steeped in history and with numerous restaurants, cafes, vineyards and a large outdoor market. Lorgues is nestled at the bottom of a valley, surrounded by hamlets and chapels and is famous for its fine wines and food. Only an hour from Nice airport, Lorgues is a great base from which to visit the beautiful countryside of Provence, its hill top villages and medieval towns (eg Tourtour, Flayosc, Entrecasteaux, Le Thoronet (and 12th century abbey), Cotignac, Carces) as well as the famous Gorges du Verdon and Lac de Sainte Croix.

Numerous sporting activities can be enjoyed locally – including canoeing, horse riding and mountain biking. There is also Aqualand in Frejus and St Maxime.

Booking Notes:
30% non refundable deposit required at time of booking.
Balance 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. We also ask for a security deposit of £300 per week to cover damages and breakages. This is payable with the balance and is returned after your holiday and satisfactory return of the house.

Changeover Day:
Saturday.
4pm arrival and 10am departure. Changeover day may be negotiable for low season.

Cancellations:Should a cancellation be necessary by the client, then the 30% deposit will not be returned. Should a cancellation occur after the total balance has been paid, and if you confirm your cancellation to us in writing, we will seek to re-let the property. If successful, we will normally return the balance to you (excluding deposit), less an administration charge to cover re-advertising of £100. Should we be unable to re-let the property, then the full balance will be retained.

A full rental agreement is issued a the time of booking.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
