Overview

About the property

Peaceful location, wonderful views, heated pool, jaccuzzi & sauna

Apart from the great views and the peace and tranquility, the house is surrounded by a lovely garden with an enclosed heated swimming pool and hot tub. A dip is a must during the hot alpine days and nights. In the summer the area becomes very busy so being able to dip in and out is what makes our house special. We go to the beach in the morning when not so busy and disappear back into the seclusion of our home in the afternoon.

About Marc Trup

We are a family from London that decided in 2000 with our three young children, ages 5,4 & 2 to buy a holiday home. My wife wanted a beach resort by the sea and I wanted a ski chalet in the mountains. On one of our trips we came across Annecy. It proved to be the perfect compromise, giving us all year activities. The summer offered the lake with its many attractions, a beautiful city nearby with superb shopping and nightlife together with local village life . In the winter we could ski in many of the surrounding resorts; Spring and autumn offers cycling, walking and outdoor activities.

Marc Trup purchased this chalet in 2000

Why Marc Trup chose Annecy - Lake Annecy area

When we saw this house we knew immediately it would work for us. It was located in a beautiful corner of the lake, offering peace and tranquility, beautiful views and all day sun in the summer. All day sunshine is something that can be hard to find in an area with many of the mountains casting shadows. The house was large enough that friends could come and stay enjoying all the ammenities the house and the area had to offer. Our kids have grown up skilled and loving many of the outdoor pursuits on offer.

What makes this chalet unique

Apart from the great views and the peace and tranquility, the house is surrounded by a lovely garden with an enclosed heated swimming pool and hot tub. A dip is a must during the hot alpine days and nights. In the summer the area becomes very busy so being able to dip in and out is what makes our house special. We go to the beach in the morning when not so busy and disappear back into the seclusion of our home in the afternoon.

An amazing holiday retreat, the photos do not do it justice. The location is just stunning, we couldn't get enough of the view. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations. The pool, hot tub and grounds are very well maintained. Very friendly house manager to meet and greet etc and is on hand if needed. We had a slight problem with one of the toilets one day, which was sorted by the time we got back from the beach, very efficient! Would highly recommend Chalet Elicer, we certainly hope to go back one day. An unforgettable holiday!

Fantastic house! Amazing Views!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Well, what can I say except 'Wow!' We were in a group of 11 (3 families). After visiting Lake Annecy, I've been completely converted to Lake holidays rather than beach holidays. The first thing to note about Chalet Elicer is the outstanding position of the property with regards to the view over the Lake. The house is set far enough back from the Lake to ensure that you aren't near any main roads or busy areas, but close enough that you can get down to the Lake without too much trouble. It takes around 5-10 minutes in the car (depending on how far either way you want to go) or 30 minutes walk. The house itself is beautiful with fantastic facilities. The balance between modern and old in the house meant that we weren't constantly worried that the children in our party would accidentally trash the place (no white carpets or furniture. Phew!). There is plenty of room in the house and we never felt like we were tripping over one another, and by the same token there are plenty of communal areas to hang out in too. The pool was fantastic and just right size for the amount of guests. It being completely gated meant that we didn't have to worry about wandering youngsters falling in!! We enjoyed dinner outside every night beside the breath-taking mountain views on the opposite side of the Lake. I felt that it was almost criminal to walk past the view without stopping to admire it for a moment!!

We were met on arrival by the house manager Thierry who was friendly and answered our questions. We could contact him for any other help we might need.

There is a good selection of shops locally although for big shopping, take the car. Carfour was our favourite supermarket, although there's also a Lidl.

We had various correspondences with Marc, the owner, before our holiday and we found him extremely helpful.

I would love to return to Chalet Elicer one day, maybe for skiing in the winter, or for another fantastic summer holiday!

Amazing accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week staying at this property. The views from the house are amazing and we loved being able to eat all our meals outside surrounded by the beautiful mountains. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit with us all and there was plenty of space in the house for 2 families. The house was very clean and well equipped. It was lovely to be so near the lake for swimming and hiring pedaloes and the children loved the luge at Le Semnoz, near Annecy. A great house in an amazing location!

Brilliant holiday

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 10, 8 adults across the age groups and 2 small children, from the Peak District in Derbyshire and part time Perth, Australia,

The chalet and pool were everything we could hope for, spotlessly clean but very comfortable and family friendly. Any questions we had were answered immediately and the manager was efficient and friendly

We thought we had wonderful views where we live but the views from the house are spectacular. The lake is 5 minutes drive away with easy parking and good watersports and the ski resorts an easy day trip for more adventurous summer sports, also a paragliders paradise. We would recommend staying here for a relaxing holiday

Coast/Beach:

The chalet is situated just 5 minutes from the village and the lake beach with its sandy shore. You can take the car (or a bike) down the hill to the beach, where the shallow waters are fabulous for a toddler safe paddle. A little off the shore are great diving boards and jumping-off islands for the more adventurous too!

Travel:

Both Geneva and Chambery airports are 1hr drive.

Distances:

Saint Jorioz Situated on the western shore 10 km from Annecy. This pleasant lakeside resort is overlooked by the Semnoz mountains and enjoys beautiful views across the lake towards Menthon and Talloires. Standing out against the valley of the Laudon river in the regional parkland of the Bauges, Saint-Jorioz extends its natural beauty to the water's edge. Its sandy beach, marina and footpaths offer a special selection of delights all year round?

Further Details:

The chalet is situated just 5 minutes from the village and the lake beach. You can take the car (or a bike) down the hill to the beach.Right behind the beach is a cafe / restaurant so you can be sure of a cool drink (or a loo) and your little ones can run over to the playground and grassy areas to let off some steam. Right next door are the municipal tennis courts.

The village has all the amenities you need for your holiday, including a couple of small/medium sized supermarkets, bars and cafes and a handful of restaurants, a Chemist and doctors surgery.

If you love fitness, Lake Annecy has a path all around it for long peaceful walks, wobbly bike rides or a more strenuous jog... and the whole area will spoil you for choice for safe routes on your bike, down by the lake and all the way along into Annecy itself, via the converted old railway track 'voie verte'.

If you like watersports, this is a fabulous place to visit. Choose from learning to water-ski, driving a speed boat, para-gliding over the lake, renting a kayak or a pedalo, or learning to sailboard. There are some yacht sailing clubs too - not to mention the golf club of Annecy.

Take a trip to the parc de loisirs in Annecy and watch the kids jump on the trampolines, dive in the pools full of balls and bouncy castles or take the older kids to Alpinaventure to learn how to climb or mountain bike. How about some white water rafting? Or just some quiet mini-golf?

Annecy is just 20 minutes away by car and is full of lovely old back streets, canals and restaurants - just heaven for those that like window shopping!

And that's just for the Summer. The Winter brings you within short driving distances of these great ski resorts:
