14C hilltop Restored Farmhouse and outbuildings set in 10 Acres of private land, accessed by 1/4 Mile drive through surrounding fields & forests. Stunning 360 degree views to the Pyrenees mountains and 2Km from Condom for local amenities. The house is set out over 450sqm & has 5 large bedrooms & en-suite bathrooms, sleeps 10-12. It also has a salt water pool, wifi, SKY HD TV, Blu-ray/DVD, Table Tennis, Pool Table, outside eating and for winter rentals the house is fully underfloor heated with open/stove fires.

Richard & Caroline are the proud owners of this superb family home and we share it with our three boys and our two Labradors.

Why Richard and Caroline chose Condom

Back in 2003, whilst on holiday in the Gers, we came across a run down and derelict set of farm buildings. Sad and neglected, not more than a pile of rocks, with trees growing inside as well as out, we were smitten. Several stressful but ultimately satisfying years later, the house is now fully restored to modern standards. We have retained much of the very old stone work, including 14C mullion windows and cut stone doorways and now have a house that should stand for a few more years.

We have spent several glorious summers (and winters) at the house and always come away sad that we have to leave and return to the UK but we hope that if you decide to spend time at the house, you will enjoy it as much as we have and look forward to answering any questions you may have!

What makes this farmhouse unique

With stunning views and surrounded by sunflower & wheat fields, with an abundance of wildlife this really is a place to unwind. Thankfully the location of the house, although incredibly private is still only minutes away from the old Armagnac capital - Condom - with all its shops, bars, restaurants, sports facilities and banks.

Further afield you have a wealth of activities and beautiful towns and markets to visit, but if it's tranquillity, modern accommodation and space you seek then look no further.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking inside the house at any time. Use of the pool is at you're own risk - the pool has an electric cover which needs to be fully deployed when the pool is not in use - as per French Law All bedrooms are on the first and second floor, so sadly unsuitable for wheelchair access. Outside: The house is surrounded by both gravel and tiled patios, has a private 6 x 12m Salt Pool with childproof electric cover, with sun loungers, parasols, outside table and chairs. There is a covered area to use as you wish (eating, lounging) with Gas BBQ. Wildlife: on any given day you will see deer, wild boar, hares, rabbits, red squirrels and in the air; soaring buzzards & eagles with everything in between, including our very own pair of partridges. On our land: Walk down to the field below the house and you will find our spring, with well and pond teaming with wildlife and surrounded by wild flowers. Please note; the pond is unfenced. Further on, walking through a couple of fields and forest will bring you down to the Baise river and nearby watermill. Other walks from the house through the surrounding countryside will take you to a nearby lake, as well as a hidden valley with waterfall. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, hanging rails, iron, ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels for house and pool included, so is cotton bed linen. There is no cleaning service as standard during your stay but this can be arranged as can catering. Other: Separate reading/working area, with wifi, books, desk. Separate hall area with table tennis & pool table. Outside covered area for eating or relaxing with gas bbq. Separate pool house with changing room/shower/wc.

Gorgeous holiday in a gorgeous home

our return visit was every bit as perfect as the first time we came. Stunning house in the most peaceful location overlooking a sea of fields and Condom in the distance.... the kids spent every waking hour in the pool or playing table tennis or pool! Thank you for a great holiday.

Stunning house

We had an amazing week in this beautiful house which has been stylishly renovated with every attention to detail. It's incredibly peaceful, spacious and has great views of surrounding countryside. Pool is perfect location - right next to the house. Housekeeper prepared delicious food. Lots of fun things to do in local area. Thoroughly recommend for a family holiday.

Blissful stay

Arriving at the farmhouse was like climbing up onto a world of calm and stability. The property was flanked by fields of golden statuesque sun flowers on one side with the landscape falling away towards Condom and beyond on the other. The building sits handsomely blending into the surroundings, unpretentious but solid and the cars get discreetly parked into an adjacent structure. The interiors are spacious, welcoming and elegant. The walls are hung with numerous paintings of charming landscapes and there is ample space for all to coexist. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated often with high ceilings and linen curtains with en suite, clean, perfectly equipped bathrooms. One bedroom is up in the tower - with a fairy tale feel. You can dine outside under a sheltered roof area with a perfect view out to the landscape beyond and starry skies at a night. We came with our teenage boys and had a lovely stay - visiting neighbouring markets, antique fairs, kayaking, walking the dogs, lounging around the pool, cooking together in the kitchen, and generally having a perfect, restorative holiday. Highly recommend.

Idyllic french farmhouse

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week in this perfectly restored farmhouse tucked away in a beautifully sleepy corner of the Gers. Attention to detail throughout the house in terms of decoration, furnishings & comfort was second to none. Definitely the best equipped holiday home we've ever rented, everything had been thought out -down to the last teaspoon. Top marks all round. The only problem was that a week wasn't nearly long enough!

Magical Stay

With our first sighting of this beautiful property we knew we had finally found our dream holiday destination. The house is beautiful, inside and out - the views breathtaking - and the pool fabulous. A fantastic, well equipped kitchen and a gorgeous open-plan sitting room - and stunning bedrooms. The weather for us was incredibly sunny and warm from start to finish - and we had lunch and dinner in the outside eating area every day. The location is perfect - just a short drive out of Condom. We'll certainly be back!

Caen/Le Havre approx 8hrs drive

Channel Tunnel is approximately 10-11hrs drive from the house.


The local medieval "city" of Condom (2KM) with its UNESCO listed cathedral offers numerous restaurants and bars to suit all tastes including a Michelin starred restaurant set in 12C cloisters. There is a weekly market which sells a vast array of gourmet local produce including Armagnac and Foie Gras as well as the local Floc (careful!). Condom also boasts several supermarkets, numerous banks and shops, a hospital and just about everything you might need on holiday.

Further Details:

There are numerous other beautiful towns and sites within easy distance of the house, as well as a number of fabulous châteaux offering tastings & selling both local wines and Armagnac. The area is renowned for its old bastide fortified towns, sumptuous rolling landscapes and peaceful atmosphere. Often referred to as the Tuscany of France and one of the least populated areas, it enjoys mild winters and hot summers, perfect for horse riding, walking and cycling, as well as forming part of the pilgrims route to Santiago. Further out you can easily access both the Mediterranean coast and the Atlantic coast as well as the National Parks of the Pyrenees, all within 2hrs drive.

Change over days are Saturdays. Arrival no earlier than 4PM and Departure no later than 10.00AM. Minimum stay is 7 days. Bookings require a 50% deposit at time of booking and full payment no later than 6 weeks before the start of booking. Bookings within the 6 weeks of your arrival must be paid in full. There will be a £500 refundable deposit taken at the time of booking to cover damages. All payments are in Sterling unless otherwise agreed prior to booking.
