Cottage in Ufford near Woodbridge, Suffolk, England - Quiet Location, Close To Many Local Attractions

The cottage, close to the church and water meadows, is situated on the owner's property and has good facilities and parking. It is on one level and suitable for people with walking difficulties. It has one bedroom, a shower room and an open plan living, kitchen and dining area, as well as a private outdoor patio with table and chairs and a barbecue. Ufford has two very good pubs in the village, The Ufford White Lion and The Ufford Crown, both only a few minutes' walk away from the cottage. There are also some lovely countryside walks to be found on the doorstep. Only 3 miles from the market town of Woodbridge which has a large choice of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as riverside walks.The archaeological site of Sutton Hoo is also on the doorstep. About 30 minutes' drive to the beaches, shops and restaurants in Southwold and Aldeburgh. Close to golf courses, fishing lakes and popular bird watching spots, Ufford is perfectly situated to be able to explore Suffolk.

About Ann Spear

My name is Ann Spear and I live next door to Potts Cottage. My daughter, Christina, her husband, James and their three children, Sam, Jack and Madeleine also live on the site in the main house. We also have 2 Labrador x called Lottie and Milo.

In 2011 we renovated the barns alongside the main house to provide me with a granny annex and at the same time updated the living area of Potts Cottage and built a new bedroom and shower room.

Ann Spear purchased this cottage in 1983

Why Ann Spear chose Suffolk

I bought the house in 1983 as I fell in love with the village of Lower Ufford and it was closer to my children's school and friends than I had previously lived. The house itself is set within a large garden which is where I spend the majority of my time and it is right at the heart of the village but on a no-through road so it is very quiet.

The village has a rural and friendly feel to it but at the same time it is close to local towns and amenities.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is well placed for some lovely walks by the sea or rivers or in the local forests and also within reach of many of East Anglia's attractions.

The property is close to main roads which makes it easy to access airports and train stations to be able to travel in this country and abroad - a pastime I enjoy immensely.

We have two excellent pubs in the village both providing good local food and there are several restaurants in the local towns and surrounding villages which will provide takeaways.

I always provide some locally sourced produce for your arrival and there are excellent butchers and farm shops close by to restock. I am always happy to help you with directions, suggestions for places to visit or shop and to make sure that your stay is relaxed and pleasurable.

Quiet Cozy Cottage

Our first visit to this part of Suffolk, what a lovely relaxing place it is, the cottage has everything you need to feel home from home and the owner and villagers are so friendly.

We would recommend this to anyone looking for a totally relaxing break.

A lovely stay for one night A warm welcome Ann and family are very nice and obliging

A quiet cottage next to a lovely church which you walk through to The White Lion very dog friendly

Every thing you need is in the cottage even a complimentary bottle of wine and fresh milk

Lovely little cottage hideaway!

Brilliant cottage, everything anyone could need for a relaxing break away "from it all". A lovely welcome pack on arrival was a nice surprise. Ideally situated for Woodbridge and the coast, as well as good walks around the local area. We hope to return some time!

Location

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Suffolk Heritage coast within easy reach. Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe 30 minutes drive away and Southwold about 40 minutes.

Travel:

Stanstead airport 1 hour 15 minutes drive away, Norwich airport 1 hour 30 minutes. Woodbridge, Melton or Wickham Market railway stations 10 minutes or less drive away. Rail network to Ipswich Station directly linked to London Liverpool Street. Cottage only 5 minutes from A12. Use of a car is ideal but not essential.

Distances:

The beautiful market towns of Woodbridge and Framlingham are both 10-15 minutes away. Both have supermarkets, banks, shops etc. There are 12th century castles to explore in Framlingham and Orford, which are 20 minutes away. Dunwich and the RSPB site at Minsmere are about 40 minutes drive. Forestry Commission area providing good walks within 10 minutes drive.
