This is our much loved family escape in stunning Salcombe. We have completely refurbished the house including adding an extra bathroom. It is ideally suited for families or friends. The house is in an elevated position with views over Snapes and The Bag to hills beyond. The property has a private garden with a large trampoline, a separate kids den/playroom with large flat screen TV and table football and off street parking and the bonus of being a minutes walk from a convenience store.

The property has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate downstairs toilet.

We are Jon and Tina Mitchell. We have two boys Jack (11) and George (9). We live in Somerset and spend a lot of time in Salcombe - a great place for family holidays by the sea and a fun and sociable place for grown ups as well!

Why Tina Mitchell chose South Hams

Tina and I have spent our holidays in Salcombe since we were little and are now having the fun of showing our boys what Salcombe has to offer.

We have had the house for 12 years and use it a lot as we are based close by in Somerset. As a result it has the feel of a real home more than a holiday home.

Salcombe is a great destination if you are looking for a holiday by the sea - fantastic sandy beaches, great pubs and restaurants, lovely coastal walks, a great sheltered estuary for swimming, sailing etc.

What makes this house unique

The property is close to the Spar shop. We also have off street parking for 2 cars which a lot of houses don't have in Salcombe - in the summer when the town is very busy it's a real bonus, as is the garden and playroom.

Parking for 2/3 cars in driveway. Utility Room: There is a large utility area under the house which has a tumble dryer and extra fridge/freezer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets and pillows on all beds. Tenants to bring all linen and towels. These can also be hired through independant companies. Other: Gas central heating and hot water

Fabulous Property

Had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful house. It's location is perfect for all that Salcombe and South Devon have to offer. Having parking on site was an absolute bonus. The kids (big and small) loved the games room. The house was clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone. Perfect Salcombe base

Very comfortable, 10 minutes walk to the middle of Salcombe. Good free parking. Mini market 2 minutes walk away. All in all very successful and enjoyable holiday.

Smashing fun for adults and children alike

We had such a lovely long weekend! Felt at home instantly in this very well thought out property. The children (aged 3-7) of which there were 4 loved the trampoline, games room and bunk beds! It felt entirely safe for them to have the run of the house and garden. The table tennis provided much fun on the chillier evenings/days.

Salcombe, North Sands and Mill Bay were beautiful as ever and would highly recommend a trip out to Bigbury-on-Sea with lunch or dinner at The Oyster Shack which was foodie heaven.

We all left, endeavouring to return again soon.

fabulous family holiday

Just back from a week in this lovely house. Its a really lovely well maintained home in a great location. There were 7 of us in total from 3 years to 89 years old perfect location for all ages, lovely beaches, good pubs lovely town. Only downside was one full bathroom but we managed well. Otherwise we would give five stars.

Location

Coast/Beach:

5 minute drive to North Sands. 5 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) into Salcombe town centre and the ferry across the estuary to a vast area of stunning sandy beaches. Also in the town centre is a delightful ferry trip to South sands, a sandy beach with numerous watersports available.

Distances:

1/2 mile to Salcombe town centre. 7 miles to Kingsbridge.

Further Details:

There is a spar convenience store 1 minute walk away aswell as a co-op petrol station in Malborough (5 min drive). Supermarkets are a 15 minute drive away in Kingsbridge, Sainsburys and tesco also deliver. Salcombe has a heated outdoor swimming pool a few minutes walk away.

Please contact me via email or phone. A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking then the balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival. I accept bank transfer or cheque. In addition we require a £200 damages deposit cheque which will be cashed and then reimbursed if everything is left in a satisfactory condition. I am afraid we cannot accept pets and the house is non-smoking.
