Overview

About the property

House near Porthcothan Bay, Padstow, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location,15 Min Walk To Beach & Local Pub

Combining coast and countryside, Greenacres is an excellent venue for large families or groups seeking coastal pursuits, surfing and relaxation. Avery spacious 5 bedroom house with a private and enclosed garden and a whopping 6 bathrooms, including four en-suite shower rooms, a ground floor bathroom and a walk-in shower room.

Set back from the Atlantic coast road in the hamlet of Treburrick between Padstow (4 miles) and Newquay (9 miles) with far reaching views over mellow countryside and towards the sea. Greenacres has recently been updated and redecorated throughout (winter 16/17) and caters for groups with a spacious and well-appointed interior centring on practicality, comfort and style.

It is positioned off the beaten track yet three-quarters of a mile from the coastal footpath and dog-friendly beach at Porthcothan Bay. One of the 'Seven Bays for Seven Days' , Porthcothan is a white sand beach sheltered from the Atlantic breeze by craggy headlands and backed by grassy dunes. Good for surfing( Waves Surf School operates all along this stretch of North Cornwall’s coastline) and a favourite among families with lifeguard patrol during the peak summer months and shallow rock pools which fascinate children with their window into marine life. There is a PH at Porthcothan Bay which offers a great view of the bay, perfect for a “Sun downer” at the end of a day on the beach.

About Jayne Beards

I Live in Surrey,UK,work full time. Hope to retire to Cornwall someday!

Jayne Beards purchased this house in 2011

Why Jayne Beards chose Cornwall

I have been going to Cornwall for family holidays since I was about 8 years old,40 plus years later I still love it.

Even at my age, I still enjoy the body boarding and my family think its the best holiday ever, maybe its the simplicity that children love, they never seem to get bored, which is a real plus.I hope that my future Grand children and guests will enjoy this house for many years to come.

What makes this house unique

Great walks, beaches, body boarding & local pubs, all on your doorstep. A place to really relax & unwind..

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have recently returned from a weekend trip to Greenacres as a group of friends for a birthday celebration. Such a fantastic weekend! The house was clean, warm, spacious and generally lovely! Treburrick itself was very pretty and we had a lovely evening walk to a welcoming pub nearby and porthcothan bay was beautiful. Very close to watergate bay which was great for surfing and also the camel trail to Padstow. Jayne was a brilliant host and very helpful with any questions we had. Definitely recommend!!

Great base for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were a 3 generation family group plus dogs who all had a wonderful holiday at Greenacres. The house was truly welcoming, well-equipped and provided a perfect setting for all that Cornwall has to offer. Not only is the house really well set up for a traditional family holiday but it is perfectly placed to reach many of the main attractions of the area while still enjoying a peaceful location with great views from a well-fenced garden

Warm, comfortable, clean and welcoming.

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of friends who wanted to visit Padstow Food Festival and enjoy a bit of 'me' time! Had lunch at the Scarlet and a massage at The Bedruthan Steps both of which are only a few miles away so very convenient. Some lovely coastal walks too!.

Greenacres is very clean, warm and comfortable. It is very well equipped with lots of space and in a quiet location with fabulous country views. It also looked freshly painted. Couldn't have asked for more. All in all a very lovely stay.

Great Family Holiday !

  • 5 of 5

A spacious well maintained comfortable property in a great location with easy access to local beaches and within walking distance of a popular pub. We were a group of 8 and the amount of space available meant that we could have family time and if we wanted somewhere to hide and read or watch TV in peace. I enjoyed my stay and have booked to go back next June.

Fantastic big house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We were having a 3 generation family get together this Autumn, to celebrate a 50th birthday.

Greenacres was a perfect venue for us, it offers lots of of space for entertaining, has a well equipped kitchen with all the dishes & pans you could wish for.

Great to have 6 bath/shower room as their was 12 of us staying.

Separate sitting room/ playroom for the kids, which was great - equipped with books, dvds & games. Nicely decorated- lovely and fresh

To summarize: a warm comfy house in a fantastic location, excellent value for money, highly recommend

3rd Visit for a big birthday!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd visit to Greenacres - 4 couples to celebrate a significant birthday - and were once again delighted with our stay. Well equipped kitchen for our celebration meal, warm and very clean throughout. Enjoyed lots of coastal walks - weather was great for that time of year. One of our party works in the hotel trade - and was very impressed! Until the next time.
