Quaint little house in the heart of the village
About the Owner
We are an English couple who have been living on the border of the Correze and Lot for 7 years with our two young children. We are 15 minutes from Turenne and we truly love the area for it's beautiful diversity. There are the green rolling hills of the Correze, the limestone country of the Lot with its marvellous caves and canyons where villages cling to the cliff face and then there is the lush river valley of the Dordogne. It is a haven for walkers, cyclists, canoeists, horse riders and water-lovers and we are so excited for our children to grow up amongst it all. We also love the area's peace and tranquility and the weather. We have a short but cold winter, a short spring, a stunning autumn and a long summer.

"The gite and Turenne is just lovely. We have relaxed and whiled away many an hour on the terrace with a book and some wine. We have loved being here, so much in fact that we extended our stay." Sarah Scraggs, London

Quaint little house in the heart of the village
Excellent stay, house had everything needed. Up quite a steep hill - but whole village on a hill. Like to eat out locally and did do a bit of research before going. Says there are five eating places in village, unfortunately not the case especially in late May. Pizzeria was open the most very friendly with good food. Two of the establishments shut by 7, the hotel didn't seem to be open at all and the final place in the square seemed to suit self! The house has everything to cook yourself but if weather not so good and have to seat in best to bring a few DVD's if not big readers!
A recommander...
From the Owner
“We noticed this house for sale when showing visiting friends the beautiful village of Turenne. We thought it had great potential to be used as a gite due to its fantastic location and for being a house full of character. It was quite a challenge to take on an abandoned, neglected house and to restore it, but we are very pleased to have been able to help preserve part of this historic village. We have tried to keep its charm whilst adding all the comforts needed for the perfect holiday home. The viscounty of Turenne dates back to 9th century but in 15th century it ruled over 1500 villages as one of the most powerful estates in France (they even minted their own coins). We were fully booked in our first year and we had wonderful reviews from the english, french, belgium and german guests.”
