Beautifully Furnished 3 bed Apartment, Walking distance from Beach and Port of Villamoura.

Situated in a peaceful quiet part of Qunita Do Romoa 500 mtrs from Vilamoura not far from Leisure Club and walk from the Marina, The apartment is spacious with large living area plus 3 large bedrooms . Well furnished and equipped throughout the apartment is very popular and early booking is highly recommended. The apartment also has the added bonus of air conditioning in the bedrooms and living area. We have recently add 4G high speed internet connection

Furnished and decorated to a luxurious finish through-out, Large open plan living room with balcony. Fully equipped luxury kitchen with all modern appliances.Large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and electric shutters fully airconditioned / heating . Second twin bedroom with electric shutters aircon and heating . Third Double Bedroom with electric shutter, aircon / heating. Both bedrooms share a 2nd bathroom with bath/shower and wc.

We often work in Portugal on projects or photo shoots we used the apartment as our base during these stays

We love Portugal and especially Villamoura, we are keen golfers who like a good meal and a lively evening out, we found the location of the apartment gave us all the above in abundance. There is also a little 50's style bar around the corner on the same block which does English breakfast and waffles with syrup etc. Which the children love!

What makes this apartment unique

There are so many things to do, within a very short distance, cafe, restaurants, bars, beaches, sea, casino's, golf courses, scuba diving, kite boarding, sea fishing, water parks, boat hire, bike hire, quad biking

Many good things, a few bad things which were very bad.

I have been reluctant to write this review for several reasons: first, because the welcome we received from the person on site who works with the owner was great. She is warm, generous, friendly and available if not a touch late in that to be expected coastal way. Secondly, the apartment is, as advertised, close to a lot of excellent attractions namely an expansive beach and the marina where everything in Vilamoura appears to be happening. It was also a good central location for golf and free on the street parking which we needed. Thirdly, the apartment was clean if not a little older appearing that one assumes by the photographs and therefore met our needs for space.

Unfortunately there were some bad things that essentially ruined the stay for me and my friend.

Firstly, the beds were very uncomfortable forcing my friend to move from one of the larger bedrooms to the little bedroom with twin beds. Even though they were smaller, they were more comfortable and actually permitted a night's sleep. Secondly, the towels that were provided with so thread bare as to be practically see through. To be honest, I have rags that were less gray and less beat up than those towels. We had to buy our own towels (so heads up: bring your own) in order to survive the week. Thirdly, during our stay the owner arranged for a potential buyer to come by while we were in the apartment. To be fair, the caretaker showed me the texts that she tried to send me, but that, I never received. It felt like an invasion for which we were not prepared.

Finally, and sadly the worst thing that has happened to me on any trip, I was devoured by bed bugs. My legs, my ears, my back, my hands, my arms. Devoured. At first I thought I must has been bitten on the golf course, but then each morning I would awaken with the tell tale signs of breakfast-lunch-dinner on another only exposed in bed part of my body.

I realize that this infestation is super hard to control and unpredictable and that the owner in no way intended for us to experience this, it was nonetheless a horrible experience. When I informed the caretaker of what was happening she immediately contacted an exterminator who treated the home and she washed and changed all the linens at which time the bites stopped.

Should the owner correct the few correctable things (buy better mattresses and proper towels) I think this property would meet the needs of a lot of people. Hopefully the intervention has fixed the bed bug problem.
