Villa in Guardamar, Costa Blanca South, Spain - Peaceful Location, 5 Minutes Drive To Beach.

Casa Francesca is a south-facing, on El Raso, fully wheelchair-friendly detached villa situated in a quiet location overlooking orange groves. There are shops and restaurants within 5 minutes walk and it is just 5 minutes drive to the beach and 7 minutes to Guardamar, an unspoilt, 'typically Spanish' town with a delightful promenade and beautiful beaches. About Frances Cunliffe

Hi. We live in the West Midlands in England but like to get over to the villa whenever we can as we enjoy the life over there. This year, however, we have decided to open it up for rental so that others may also enjoy the sunshine and the relaxing surroundings. We wouldn't ever think of selling the property as we enjoy it so much and the permanent residents on the complex make you so welcome. We really do see it as a second home!

Frances Cunliffe purchased this villa in 2004

Why Frances Cunliffe chose Guardamar del Segura

We chose this particular location because of the design of the villa itself, the high-quality surrounding infrastructure, the beautiful beach at Guardamar and the surrounding coastline, and the town of Guardamar itself, which has a real 'Spanish' feel to it.

The fact that it is less than 45 minutes drive from 2 airports means that you can always find convenient flights.

Although the immediate location is quiet, there are plenty of historic towns and scenic villages within easy driving distance for days out.

What makes this villa unique

As soon as the sales agent showed us the showhouse for the property we knew that this design was exactly what we wanted as it offers plenty of room and is very light and airy.

There are excellent restaurants within walking distance and many more a short drive away.

The communal pool is rarely used - it is almost like having your own private pool!

Loved everything about this villa

  • 5 of 5

Had an amazing holiday with my two daughters, the villa was so much better than the pictures. Very easy to book and Frances was available every time I had any questions. Colin the caretaker was waiting for me as I arrived and was on hand to call on at any point, both were very friendly and lovely people. The pool was gorgeous and very well kept, only round the corner from the villa, we had it to ourselves on most visits. All round am amazing place and would definitely recommend, would definitely go back again.

Another fabulous holiday at villa Francesca

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year on the run that we have stayed at this villa and we would definitely stay again. The villa is clean and well equipped and Colin is always helpful and friendly and on hand if we need him. The owners of the villa are always helpful prior to us travelling out to spain and are flexible and accomodating. The situation of the villa is ideal and we have explored the area locally and afar which is beautiful. I would however recommend a car to enable you to get around easier but there is local buses too. There are several bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance of the villa and it is lovely to just stroll around the area. The pool is kept lovely and clean and is a welcome assert on a lovely hot day. My children love staying at this villa and are very relaxed throughout our stay. I have and would recommend this villa to anyone who would like a home from home relaxing holiday in the sunshine . Thank you Frances, Peter and Colin for another wonderful family holiday in Spain xx

Very nice, just not quite for us.

  • 3 of 5

Six of us (3 adults, 3 children) stayed here for 7 nights in July. The villa came recommended by a friend who had previously stayed here on more than one occasion.

From the outset I found the owner Frances to be very friendly, prompt and professional in her communications and we were informed that a caretaker (colin) would be on hand to attend to any issues once we arrived.

On arrival we were met by Colin although he literally just handed us the keys and appeared keen to leave asap.

We found the villa to be clean and well presented and best of all it was extremely well stocked - loads of towels, tea/coffee, milk, sun lotion and even some alcohol.

There were a few niggles such as leaky shower heads (so easy to replace) a dodgy lamp in the kids room (again easy to sort) and a few bugs in the kitchen cuboards. To be fair i didnt contact Colin as i felt these were minor issues but netherless you'd expect these things to be checked.

As we were on a tight budget we didn't hire a car although we had been warned that one would be essential. Had we not have found Keith a local British taxi driver then it would of been a major issue, however I would still agree that your own vehicle is required in order to fully enjoy your stay.

At the top of the estate there are 2 shops and approx 7 restaurants. The 2 shops are fine for basic requirements but for anything more you'll need the supermarket - I decided to walk there one day and it took me 90 mins! We dined out at 'The Med' and found the service to be terrible - approx 1hr wait for food and they got the order wrong. The other places seemed adequate but nothing special.

The star attraction for us was the beach at Guardamar - we loved the combination of big waves and shallow waters.

The communal pool was functional and very quiet most of the time however we found it a bit soleless - no views or decoration. Also there are no sun loungers which meant lugging the ones from the villa to and fro which isn't for the faint hearted in 30 degrees!

On the whole the villa was nice and good value for money and I'm sure if you have a car you can fully appreciate what the area has to offer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review David, Was the 'dodgy' lamp in the bedroom upstairs? I will ask Colin to take it away and replace it when I am next over, I will also sort out the shower head. A car is needed to fully enjoy the area and the explore beautiful Spanish town of Guardamar and surrounding areas. Thank you again for writing your review.

villa was perfect layout for the family including my mother recovering from two knee ops.

  • 3 of 5

Villa layout was good although had a few wee tired areas which should be looked at, but it maybe because we were early visitors for the season.

Bedside lamp shades in all rooms were broken .

Towels had to be rewashed before use as they smelled damp.

Windows and balcony doors were badly needing cleaned.

Light bulbs were needing replaced on both bathroom mirrors and kitchen spotlights.

Both of the available bikes had burst tyres.

Air-con is needing looked at in main living area as if on for any length of time there was water dripping onto T.V.

Felt very unwelcome in pool area when the permanent residents used the pool, even if just reading a book at the edge.

If the small things were addressed we would definitely try another visit.

We have had a wonderful six weeks holiday, it was very disabled friendly for myself including the area as I took my scooter with me and all the pavements had dropped curbs.

We visited the local restaurants and they are faboulous the food was outstanding and hopefully will be visiting the villa again in the future.

Thank you so much for letting us use your villa.

A Fantastic Holiday had by all the family ☺☺☺

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home from the villa and from my children's mouths.....' this has been the best holiday ever!!' We have had an amazing time and the villa is truly lovely 😊 . The area is perfect and we could not of asked for more . The villa is just as described and much more and is well kept and clean and immaculate. We have been in the communal pool every day for our 2 week stay here and only several times have seen others using it so have enjoyed a private swim at some point every day.The villa is well equipped and is home from home 😊 Frances was extremely helpful prior to our arrival in Spain and the caretaker Colin was very helpful. We have visited the local bars and have had some amazing meals in a lovely friendly atmosphere 😊 Rays bar was our favourite. We were very pleased that we had hired a car as this gave us the option to explore the beautiful area close by easily 😊 we intend to book for next year as soon as we return to England and would like to express our sincere thanks to Frances and Peter for allowing us to rent their lovely Spanish home for the past 2 weeks 😊 we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definately be returning next year . Many many thanks for a wonderful holiday xxxxxxx we agree with our children......Our best holiday ever xxxx
