Lovely Rencott

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for one week in this well equipped cottage in the lovely village of Porlock. This is a cut above the usual holiday accommodation. It has every amenity you could want including quality bed linen and what appeared to me to be new beds. The owners are generous to their guests by providing lots of little extras including tea, coffee biscuits and milk for when you first arrive, boxes of tissues in each guest room and leaving basic kitchen stuff such as washing up liquid, tea towels etc. It had been cleaned to a very high standard (something you don't always find) and I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Beautiful cottage in quiet location

  • 5 of 5

Despite the weather we had a most enjoyable stay at Rencott. Very much a home rather than a holiday cottage. It was perfect in every way. Everything you could possibly need had been thought of. We would highly recommend this cottage for extremely comfortable and relaxing stay.

Close to all amenities. Great walks from the doorstep and within easy reach of Dunster, Dulverton, and the wonderful Exmoor landscape.

Delightful cottage in peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the cottage for a weeks walking and it could not have been bettered. The setting is beautiful and peaceful with just the sound of water from the many streams in the area. The cottage is well equipped and tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and lots of little extras such as logs for the wood burning stove, biscuits and milk on arrival. There are lots of walks right on the doorstep and the 10-15 minute walk into the village is lovely, passing by beautiful cottages and a watermill. My 83 year old mother could do the walk into the village but low energy levels meant she couldn't walk back so easily (it is mostly level with a slight incline when walking back up), so a car would be good if you have older or not so able bodied people in your group. Everything you need is in the village with lots of places to eat. The bottom Ship at Porlock Weir is a great pub with friendly staff and good food. We would love to stay again as we had such a relaxing week. Thanks to Cliff, whom we didn't meet, but who made booking a seamless process, and answered all my emails promptly.

Highly Recommended.

Pre-Christmas Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Lovely comfortable house in great location, house was well maintained and clean. Plenty to do and see and great walks right on your doorstop. Easy ten minute walk to shops and restaurants. Would recommend the Castle and The Royal Oak in Porlock Village and the Ship Inn at Porlock Weir for friendly and welcoming staff and great tasting reasonably priced food. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Comfort and tranquillity in a perfect setting

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Rencott so much a few years ago , that we knew it would be a perfect place to bring our parents to this summer. It’s a stylish and very well equipped cottage in a wonderfully tranquil setting.

We love the location - ideal for some lovely walks straight from the cottage or for a wander in to the village for a cream tea. We also love the comfort and decor of the cottage – just gorgeous- and wonderful to come back to after a long day.

In our opinion it’s a perfect holiday cottage and we'd love to stay again!

We have just returned from a very relaxing stay at Rencott. Both Porlock and the cottage itself were excellent - comfortable accommodation and splendid walks from the door. Just what we needed!
