Holiday Home in Porthallow, The Lizard, Cornwall, England - Less Than A 5 Minute Walk To The Beach And Pub!

A two bedroomed holiday home comprising one double & one twin bedroom, each having sea views. The living room has seating for four people and a large picture window which provides both sea and rural views. A separate dining room seats four and contains a small cloakroom/broom cupboard. To the outside, is a decked balcony providing even more spectacular views of Porthallow Cove, Falmouth Bay and the Roseland peninsular beyond. Below is a grassed picnic & children's play area, above is a private car parking space, with access to the apartment through a small garden by steps with handrail. There is also a communal coin operated laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier.

Beautifully re-furbished and newly decorated throughout, Bay View offered us, a family of four a thoroughly comfortable week away from our normal hustle and bustle. Beautiful!

Bay View is a delightfully furnished apartment, situated in a beautiful setting. The terrace offers a magnificent view over the sea, in front of the lighthouse at St. Antony and the Roseland Peninsula. Our kids had a great time at home and did not want to leave. Great little find in a beautiful location.

We had a really lovely week at this apartment. Equipped with everything you need to make life easy. Just what you need with three little ones. Ideally located to explore the lizard and beyond but away from the hustle and bustle of Cornwall. Arranging an online shop to arrive when you do is genius and saves loads of time so you can get on with your holiday. We would stay here again if we visit the lizard.

Fantastic stay in a great property. Views from the balcony were outstanding. Owner very accommodating and helpful!

Couldn't really fault it!! Porthallow was a real find for a relaxing holiday. The local pub was very friendly and served good food and ale. The weather was an absolute bonus and made relaxing on the balcony in the evenings a perfect end to perfect days. Overall great holiday!!

Lovely flat

Part of a small development of six flats up the hill from the beach, Bay View is comfortable and well appointed and David went out of his way to make it easy for us. Access is steep so I woud not recommend it for those who have difficulty with stairs. I thoroughly recommend the property.

Porthallow is a delightful village with an excellent pub, the Five Pilchards, (free house, excellent beer, serving good food) and is in a good position to explore the west of Cornwall. Fishing is good. There is a bus but a car is pretty much essential.

Wonderful time in a lovely appartment

We had a really lovely time in the Bay View appartment. The listing was really accurate and the property was very nice, clean and modern. There was a great view from the terrace to the sea and we had great fun watching the boats come and go. David was very friendly and helpful. The pub in Porthallow had great food and beer. There is so much to do within a short drive of the appartment that I can't list them all but we loved the beach at Poldhu, the Seal Sanctuary, Trebah, Fowley and Falmouth. We would be very happy to spend some more time at Bay View.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Rambling - situated at the half way point of the South West Coastal Path, Bay View is ideal for those who enjoy a good walk. Come and enjoy some of the most stunning views of the Helford river, Falmouth bay, the Manacle rocks and beyond to the most southerly point at the Lizard.

Diving - renowned amongst the diving fraternity, this stretch of the south Cornish coast is just a stone's throw away. The nearby Porthkerris Dive centre provides shore and boat diving for both new and experienced, with training and equipment all available on site.

Fishing - whether from the shore or on the water, this area probably boasts some of the best fishing marks in the south west and there are ample opportunities to land your very own catch of the day, or discuss the one that got away! If you fancy trying your hand, Bay View has rods and line provided, but for those more experienced, you'll probably want to bring your own gear.

Coast/Beach:

Porthallow beach is less than a five minute walk, which is also the mid-way point of South West Coastal Path. Helford river estuary 10 minute drive away and sandy beach at Coverack approximately 3 miles away. The Lizard village and the most southerly point about a 15 minute drive.

Travel:

Newquay airport - 40 miles; Truro train station - 30 miles; bus service from St. Keverne - 2 miles to most Cornish villages and towns.

However, it is advised that you travel independently to make the most of your holiday!

St. Keverne 2 miles, The Lizard 10 miles, Helston 12 miles, Falmouth 25 miles, Lands End 35 miles, Truro 30 miles, Eden Project 40 miles.

Further Details:

The 'local', The Five Pilchards pub a mere 5 minutes walk.

Village store, post office, Three Tuns and White Hart pubs in St. Keverne, a 5 minute drive.

Sainsbury's and Tesco hypermarkets in Helston, along with most high street banks, 20 minute drive.

Booking Notes:
A 20% deposit is required at time of booking, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.


Changeover Day:
Saturday, but flexible upon your requirements.

Access is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and we kindly request that the premises are vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Please note that the price for short breaks (min stay 3 nights) is a pro rata plus 15% to 40% depending on the length of stay. Where a short break falls over a weekend (eg, Thursday thro' Monday) there is a pro rata 50% surcharge on the weekly rate.
Preferred payment is by bank transfer, international bank transfer in GBP, or by personal cheque. PayPal is also accepted, subject to their commission. All payment details will be provided upon your reservation confirmation.
