About Leeanda Schreiber

We share our time between our apartment in Southampton and our house in France. Our plan is to live in France once my husband retires. I spend more time in France as we have spent a few years renovating this home and it has been necessary to be on hand with buiders working, making improvements and doing the changeovers during the season.

I love living here, gardening, painting and sourcing suitable "treasures" for the house.

Leeanda Schreiber purchased this house in 2007

Why Leeanda Schreiber chose Perigord Blanc

We loved the house and as we both enjoy renovating we knew we could restore this house into a beautiful home. It is conviently situated between Bergerac and Bordeaux, in the heart of the wine region and with easy access to the 2 major airports. This was important as we frequently travel over from the UK.

Our children love outdoor life and there are plenty of activities to keep them amused.ie bike riding, canoeing, horse riding and rambling.

We enjoy the relaxed french way of living. Eating outdoors, sharing good food and good wine with family and friends.

What makes this house unique

A spacious maison de maitre sensitively restored with all the comforts of modern living. All bedrooms have en suites. The outdoor living area flows from the kitchen, dining area and makes for easy, relaxed outdoor entertaining. The pool being the focus of this area. A large covered area for outdoor eating when the sun is too hot to sit out in or, in the cooler evening having drinks and meals on the patio watching the stunning sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Really lovely house. Everything you need and spotlessly clean. Very tastefully furnished and decorated. Owners very helpful. We would come again and recommend the house to others. Blades, Northumberland.

What a beautiful home! Everything we could ask for and more. We all leave with heavy hearts and could have stayed for weeks! Innes Family, North Berwick.

A stunning house in every respect, far above and beyond our expectations. Lovely owners. We leave with very fond memories. Thankyou. Ainsworths, Whites and Mitchells: Haworth, West Yorkshire.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

On every count this stunning home cannot be beaten.

The house is impressive and totally comfortable with plenty of space for all members of the family to relax. The pool area with its outdoor covered kitchen, barbecue and dinning space is ideal. The pool was really appreciated as we had a few days of exceptionally high temperatures. It was hard to persuade our grandchildren to leave the pool and indeed to leave the property at the end of our stay.

The owner, Leeander, could not have been more helpful. She was a pleasure to deal with. The booking process was dealt with professionally and pleasantly.

Many thanks Leeander for a very enjoyable stay at your magnificent home.

Top, top quality

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at a couple of houses in France but honestly have never come across one finished to such a high standard. This is the practical stuff such as top quality bathroom fittings and fully equipped kitchen to the aesthetic; the house is beautifully decorated and full of lovely furniture and pieces. Pool is great (and heated in case the weather dips) and you have a choice of outdoor eating spots - in the sun or under the shady arbour. Bergerac is a lovely town about 45 minutes drive away and the local supermarket is about 5 minutes. Thoroughly recommend this rental.

Comfortable and spacious luxury holiday home

  • 5 of 5

We visited as a group of two adults and three teenagers and all loved the

house, the pool and the surrounding area. The house itself is beautiful and

comfortable, a real treat to stay in. Leeanda and her husband were very

welcoming and full of helpful advice and ideas. The information folder is

invaluable! We particularly enjoyed meals outdoors in the covered eating

area, which afforded cool and shade from the sun and heat. We loved our

stay, hope very much to return and thoroughly recommend this house to

others.

Couldn't be better !

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd visit to the Dordogne area and the nicest property we have stayed in , its a 45 min drive from Bergerac airport where we picked up the hire car . A clean spacious and characterful house which was well maintained and one in which we found the reality accurately reflected the web page descriptions. Althought we found Montpon town, a couple of miles away , a little too quiet for our liking , the beautiful house in the hilltop hamlet of Montignac close to the River D'Isle was still fantastic location for visiting surrounding attractions of Perigeaux , St Emillion ( not to be missed even if you are not a wine buff) , Bergerac , Bordeaux and many other small towns with markets in close proximity. Its 5 mins drive from a reasonable supermarket ( Casino) and 10 mins drive from a very good one ( Intermarche) which was better for fresh fish and meat etc . We spent many hours lazing by the pool , the tranquility only broken by occasional crowing cockerels and bells of the local monastery which only added to the lovely atmosphere. We used the bikes for some easy cycling round the virtually traffic free local area. Thanks again to Leeanda for all her help and guidance for making it a holiday to remember. Would definitely stay again.
