About The Owner

Hello, we are a professional English couple with three children, living in London, UK. Our London lives are very hectic and this makes time away together particularly precious. Our villa in Lunigiana allows us the "get away from it all" feeling which we so much enjoy.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2007

Why The Owner chose Aulla

We have always enjoyed holidaying in Italy and Tuscany in particular. One year we ventured into North Tuscany and into Lunigiana for a holiday with our 3 children. We were stunned by the natural beauty of this part of Tuscany and started to look for a property to buy which we could return to time and time again. In Olivola we found this very special villa with uniterrupted and breathtaking mountain views, to which the photos do little justice.

What makes this villa unique

The villa you are considering booking is very much our home from home and with the help of some good local people who take care of the detail of the bookings, and the property maintenance we are proud to offer it to others to share.

We hope you find Lunigiana as enthralling a place to visit as we still do.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hi Chris

Thank for all your help with our holiday. We had a really lovely week. The view is so beautiful it is easy to overlook how lovely the house is - so much attention to detail, well equipped & so clean. It really was a joy to be there. And I wanted to compliment you on just how professionally you managed all the administration. From the initial phone call to check that the property was suitable for us, through to the refund of the damages bond at the end you have been great. Friendly, informal but professional throughout.

Thanks once again.

Elisabeth & Diederik, Amsterdam July 2013

This is a truly wonderful place to unwind & let the stresses of modern life drift away. We have many memories to take away - the early morning mist lying across the valleys before burning off as the sun rises, basking by the pool & dinner in the evening at the best restaurant for miles - our own!

We'll be back for sure.

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is spacious, light and offers panoramic views from nearly ever corner of the property. The property sleeps up to seven, but makes the perfect romantic getaway for a couple, two pairs of friends or a small family group. The accommodation is arranged on 2 floors via internal staircases. Walking children are welcome, but will require supervision because the property sits on sloping and terraced grounds and the house has a number of balconies. The swimming pool is 11m x 4m with roman steps to access at the shallow end or to sit and cool your feet. There are quality wooden sun loungers dotted around the outdoor areas. Shade by the pool is provided by fixed umbrellas. There are also several stone benches within the walled garden areas from which you can soak up the breath taking views. Steps lead down to the pool area from where additional steps give access to wander amongst the vines, and mature olive and fig trees. Utility Room: The fridge with freezer compartment is located in a small room which adjoins the kitchen. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen/towels are included and changed after the first week (for longer stays). The house is cleaned before guests arrive and after guests leave, the cost is included. Guests staying for 2 weeks can book a mid stay clean for an additional fee. Other: Under the mezzanine of Bedroom 1 is a small reception room with a desk and PC which guests are welcome to use. WiFi available.

Stunning summer holiday

  • 5 of 5

All I want to do is gush.. This place is just the best that we have ever been to. The view is astounding.. You never tire of it and the tranquillity and freshness of the environment rejuvenates you. We did not want to leave the villa.. It's well equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay.. None of this 6 plates, 6 cups, 6 spoons deal!! We did manage to drag ourselves out for day trips to Pisa, Lerici and boat tour around Cinque Terre. Chris is full of helpful advice and tips on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. He also comes laden with the best Focaccie ever a few times a week! We cannot get over the views that this location provides. We were completely in awe and would put this villa on our list of places to revisit. A huge thanks to Chris for being so helpful.

'Stunning Views' do not do it justice....

  • 4 of 5

A fantastic villa with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Although set remotely, close enough to local towns and amenities for grocery shopping etc. Easy access to motorway links to enjoy day trips to Florence, Lucca, LeRicci etc. Weather was fantastic so lots of opportunities for lazy days at the pool. Plenty of room for two families and lots of space outside to find a wee nook for quiet reading.... Would certainly recommend to family and friends. Local caretaker, Chris couldn't do enough for us - even rescuing Alfie the Teddy Bear who had got inadvertently delivered to the laundrette by mistake among the bedsheets! Loved our stay.

It's simply great.

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful, well equipped farmhouse just half an hour from the coast with spectacular and far-reaching views of the mountains. The house is spacious and remote so you need a car to get about and to get to the nearest supermarket about 10 minutes away. But if you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect place. There are plenty of steps down to the pool which will keep you fit. But they do make the house and sloping grounds unsuitable for the less mobile. If you just want to sit in the sunshine and drink in the scenery, there's no better place. It's simply great.

Thanks Neil & Alison

Spectacular is the only word for the views. It was our second year at the villa and we as a family just love it. We need to chill and it is perfect for that - eating on the terrace, sunbathing, swimming and even the tough undulating running make us relax.

Trips to Pisa, Carrara, Lerici (we always hire a boat for the day), La Spezia etc are all within easy reach with great restaurants locally too. Chris is brilliant and the focaccia/ham/cheese he brings is delicious. We will book again if possible for next year.

Reliably good

  • 5 of 5

Our second holiday at this excellent villa, superb location with amazing views overlying wooded hills with the mountain range as a backdrop. Very private, and quiet, yet with easy access to the autostrada and supermarkets, as well as a range of charming small towns and villages.

Cool, spacious villa, well equipped and comfortable.

The pool is kept in great condition by Chris, and was very welcome. As usual he and Eva were really helpful, even sorting out a supermarket delivery for our arrival!

Very sorry to leave, but may be a third time?

A truly memorable holiday in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

The views from this property are incredible, even after staying in this property for two weeks, each morning it was marvelous to take in the stunning landscape again. The peace and quiet allowed for real relaxation and the pool is maintained to a very high standard. The house exudes charm and character, it is a real home from home with plenty of space. The 'icing on the cake' must be Chris, the property manager, who goes way beyond the call of duty to ensure that the property is well maintained, has an extensive local knowledge and ensures all needs are catered for.
