Anstey Grove Barn is a beautifully converted timber barn which has been specifically designed to provide comfortable and relaxing accommodation with all your needs taken into account. The living accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the whole barn has underfloor heating to keep the chill out on winter days. The garden is set out to lawns and a large patio herb garden where guests can spend the evenings having a barbeque and watching the sunset. Locally there is the village of Anstey with its' rich history from the medieval meadows to the Norman church with its 15c graffitti, there are also many local pubs that serve real ale and delicious food. Anstey is situated just 30 miles north of London and only 15 miles south of Cambridge and is ideal exploring the East of England, and is available for weekend or full week getaways with family or friends.
Andrew and Alice have been at Anstey Grove Barn for over 30 years, raising a family and running a farm in the heart of rural Hertfordshire. In 1980 they bought a working pig farm with 20 acres of land and began to build a family home. Within months the house was built, and within years a broadleaf wood was planted and wildflower meadow cultivated that have now come to be protected by the Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. The working pig farm has now gone, but the wood, meadows, flock of free range hens and horses remain. In 2004 Alice and Andrew decided to convert the large Barn at the heart of the farm and create high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Their intention has always been to provide a homely base from which families, couples and those just passing through can enjoy

We just got back from an amazing hen weekend at Anstey Grove Barn. The barn is absolutely beautiful - idyllic garden, 6 lovely bedrooms and great space for entertaining up to 12 people.
Andrew and Alice could not have been more lovely or helpful.
Would really recommend this for any get-together with friends or family. The barn is really close to Cambridge. We went punting in the day with Lets Go Punting which was good value and lots of fun. We also did a Life Drawing class in the afternoon in the garden which was a very fun hen do activity (I booked through info@lifem?odeloxfords?hire.co.uk and would definitely recommend).
We could have just stayed in the barn all weekend and been perfectly happy! Thanks to Andrew and Alice for helping make a great weekend.

A large group of us visited the barn for a hen in June, staying Friday to Sunday. The barn was clean and bea
Absolutely beautiful property
Owner couldn't have been more helpful
The property was great, lovely rooms and Andrew was very helpful. We had a problem with lack of catering dishes in the kitchen, we like to cook and if the house caters for 12, there was only 10 of us and we struggled for large dishes
We stayed here for a hen do at the beginning of May and simply cannot emphasise how lovely it was. Andrew makes sure everything is just right for you, and even popped some ice in the freezer for me! The small touches such as shower gel and soap on every room is lovely. Waking up to the birds tweeting and nothing else was magical. The beds are luxurious, and the kitchen is very well stocked for whatever you may wish to cook! Cannot wait to book a return visit.
Our stay at Anstey Grove Barn was great. The barn is beautifully renovated, clean, and really comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for a large group and the large dining table means that you can all eat together. All of the rooms are en suite so all parties had their privacy. The grounds are also well kept - perfect for relaxing!
Having come across this accommodation set in Buntingford, we decided to hold a 50th Anniversary there. Andrew was the contact, who thoroughly helped us out with all questions raised and local places to dine. Not to mention his on-hand help with anything else!.
One word. 'Fantastic' and if you are reading this, don't hesitate in booking in for a stay, the Barn itself is wonderful, fixtures and fittings, room space, and with the added bonus of being situated in a quiet location. We used a local caterer called Penelope for the Saturday eat-in meal, the food and service were both first class, and would definitely use her services again!. All in all, the weekend was excellent.
Thanks again for lovely stay,
Mark
We stayed at Anstey barn over Christmas as a large family party including children. The barn is spacious, clean and very welcoming. All the rooms are beautifully decorated, with ensuite bathrooms and lovely toiletries. The underfloor heating meant we were nice and warm at all times. Andrew was very helpful and close enough to call on if any problems arose, even being so good as to drop round some last minute Amazon purchases! The Christmas decorations were lovely and festive and all in all we had a lovely, relaxing time. The only slight negative is the limited mobile wifi which was limited to 18gb and could only support a few users at once. This is worth bearing in mind if you need to keep up with any work during your break as there is also limited reception. However it does mean you are forced to really get away from it all! I would recommend this place highly for large groups.
