Beautiful 2nd floor modern apartment (stair access only) on Oasis Parque Country Club complex which has 1 large pool, 1 childrens pool, 1 paddling pool and an indoor pool (heated in winter), jacuzzi, tennis courts and young childrens play area.These facilities are free. Coffee shop/bar on site. It is close to the fishing village of Alvor with its stunning beach and Praia de Rocha, another excellent beach and there are lots of lovely places to visit all within a short distance. The new Autodomo is a 10 minute drive and there are water parks also within a short drive. The area is a golfers paradise and guests will receive a 10% discount for golf at the nearby Boa Vista. There are all kinds of trips available to keep you busy and plenty of car hire firms but its advisable to pre-book car hire in high season. There are a couple of supermarkets and a few restaurants within walking distance.

About the Owner

I am a single lady living in a beautiful part of Devon. I work full time but try to make it to Portugal 3 or 4 times a year and hope to retire there in a couple of years time. For this reason I have tried to make it a home from home and all of my visitors to date have remarked this.

I purchased the property in May 2006 never having visited Portugal before but I have no regrets - I love the Algarve. I have some friends who have an apartment on the same complex so had seen some photographs but couldn't imagine it as being as lovely as it really is.

I have just spent my first Christmas and New Year in Portugal and was very lucky to have two weeks of constant blue sky and sunshine. I cant wait for Christmas to come again!

"A wonderful couple of weeks at this "posh pad." Weather in high 20's every day. Went to the Golf Open at Vilamoura and played a lot of golf ourselves. Found some new restaurants - our No 1 favourite is Nosola Aqua Club on the beach at Marina de Portimao. Hope we are back soon.

I bought a property on Oasis Parque mainly because it's away from the crowds and seemed safe. It also had all the facilities that suited me. I had retirement in mind and I hope to go there to live at the end of 2013. I love having breakfast in the sunshine on the balcony whilst looking over the coloured rooftops to the Monchique mountains. When I made my first visit to the Algarve in May 2006 it was the last apartment I looked at and although it was still in the process of being built I fell in love with it and the area immediately. There are so many places to visit without driving too far and having travelled around the world I cant think of anywhere I would rather have bought my retirement home.

Coast/Beach:

Numerous beaches "Praias" such as Alvor, Rocha,Carvoeiro, Lagos are all within easy reach - 10/20 minutes easy.

Travel:

Faro airport is 60kms and is an easy 45 minute drive on the A22 motorway (toll charges apply) or just over an hour on the N125. These two roads run parallel so easy access from either. Car hire is recommended if you want to explore the Algarve but if your intention is to chill by the pool you would probably survive by using taxis. Airport transfers can be booked and cost approx. 55 euros each way.

Distances:

The pretty fishing village of Alvor is a 10/15 minute drive, Portimao is a 10 minute drive. Vilamoura with its beautiful marina and many deck lounges is a 40 minute drive on the N125 - well worth a visit. Places such as Lagos and Carvoeiro are a 20 minute drive. A visit to the Monchique mountains and Foia are a must on a clear sunny day - the views are stunning and it will take approx 45 minutes. Visit Caldes Monchique on the way.

A pleasant day trip is up the West coast and return inland.

Further Details:

2 supermarkets within walking distance and more in the towns. A new mall with "Jumbo" supermarket is proving popular. Spoilt for choice for restaurants and if you love fresh fish you will think you are in heaven. The beach "shacks" on Alvor beach are worth a lunchtime visit but you will find an abundance of restaurants lining the little cobbled streets. There are plenty of restaurants wherever you go in the Algarve.

There are banks in Portimao and Alvor and the nearest cash machine is in Continente supermarket on the retail park.

When I purchased the apartment I tried to make it like a home from home - both for anyone that may use it as their holiday destination and for myself and everyone that has stayed in it has remarked about this. Most people these days even when on holiday like to be able to access the internet and they can do this here. There is also a land line telephone which guests may use for local calls such as taxis, restaurants etc. The apartment is conveniently situated for restaurants,supermarkets, beaches, and the railway station is just a taxi ride away. Buses go into town frequently from the complex. The cafe/bar on site serves light bites during the day and offers a good menu in the evenings - reservations essential.

  • Notes on accommodation: The leisure area has a secure card entry system. There is a digital safe in the master bedroom. Definitely no smoking in the apartment. Ample off road parking. Reception office on site for local information. Barbecues are not permitted on the balconies. Outside: 1 large balcony at the front of the property with table and 4 chairs 1 small balcony at the back (ideal for drying washing or wet beach towels) Shared facilities include 1 large outdoor pool, numerous sunbeds, 1 childrens pool, 1 paddling pool,1 indoor pool heated in winter, jacuzzi, tennis courts, young childrens play area.
