Cottage near St Davids, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Wales - Peaceful Location Within Walking Distance Of Numerous Beaches, Coastal Walks & Activities. This large 5 star detached cottage is situated on the northern edge of the unique and breath-taking pembrokeshire coast national park in the picturesque village of trefin. The property, lovingly named ‘taneilan’ after the owners' children, is within walking distance of an excellent pub, a craft shop/ café, seasonal art galleries and a historic cove, Aber Felin, which is also on the coastal path. The property sleeps six comfortably and is of exceptional quality. ‘taneilan’ is a great place to be after your busy day exploring all that pembrokeshire has to offer, or indeed if you want a more relaxing experience ‘taneilan’ can offer you that time to reflect and unwind.

About Heidi and Bruce

We live in England with our 2 children and our two cats. We both work, but spend most of our holidays at our home in Trefin, enjoying the spectacular beaches and coastal walks that are right on our doorstep. In fact Heidi was brought up in Trefin, where her parents still live and we have many friends in the village. So it really feels like home when we are there.

Why Heidi and Bruce chose St Brides Bay, St Davids & The West Coast

We chose the property with a view to moving into the village some time in the future, so we have put our heart and soul into the place.

Heidi felt privileged growing up in Trefin, surrounded by endless coastline within walking distance, as well as numerous coves and bays, she could walk or cycle to everyday. Our kids can't get enough of the place.

Even in the height of summer, it is easy to find secluded beaches and walks all to yourself.

There is a staggering amount and variety of activities to enjoy in Pembrokeshire, whether you have children, are into arts and crafts, history and archaeology, boating, fishing, extreme sports, theme parks, wildlife and marine life, or simply want to get away from it all to relax in peace and quiet.

What makes this cottage unique

Our house is recently decorated and everything, including floors, windows, kitchen and bathrooms, is brand new. It is a very spacious property with oak flooring or tiles, high ceilings and underfloor heating downstairs. Other features such as the log burner, flat screen TV, american sized fridge freezer, large induction hob stove, separate utility, chandeliers, hotel standard bathrooms and generously sized beds, plus balcony off dining room french doors, contribute to the luxury feel.

The house was also decorated with children's safety in mind. Apart from stair gates, and optional fire guard and plug covers, the spacious garden is fully enclosed and the balcony decking leading onto the lawn is as non slip as possible.

Notes on accommodation: Regrettably no pets. Strictly no smoking in house or garden. Outside: Access to the garden is possible via the back door from the utility room, or via french doors to balcony and decked path, from kitchen-dining room. There is a beautiful view of the valley and coastline from the balcony. The garden can also be accessed directly from the front via a gated pathway. The garden gate can be bolted for additional security. Garden comprises large, fully enclosed south facing lawn with barbecue, garden table and chairs, clothes drying line, small covered sandpit, large lawn and exterior taps (front and back) suitable for filling paddling pools (not supplied) and cleaning boots, wet suits etc. There is off-road parking at the front of the cottage for one car and additional vehicles may park opposite the cottage on the street. Temporary parking for more than one vehicle directly in front of the cottage is permitted for the purposes of loading and unloading. Utility Room: Utility room includes washing machine, separate tumble dryer, double sink with draining board, plenty of storage, worktop area and back door to garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning at the end of your stay is free of charge. All linen included. Linen change part-way through longer stays is free of charge and additional cleaning is available for a small additional charge. Please bring own beach towels & cot bedding. Other: Cot and high chair available (safety gates to stairs are also fitted). WiFi & telephone (local & national calls) Iron & ironing board. Cot, highchair & baby bath available on request (please bring own cot bedding).

Tanellan, Trefin

This is one of the best-appointed and most comfortable cottages we have stayed in over more than 10 years. From outside the front it looks rather unremarkable, but once through the door we were amazed and impressed by the spaciousness of every room, the massive amount of storage space, particularly in both the kitchen and the bedrooms. The layout and fittings in the kitchen, with the huge fridge and the island work-area, were to die for. Unfortunately the weather, which was fine for coast-path walking, was not sunny or warm enough for us to enjoy the garden, though we did manage evening drinks on the outside decking a couple of times. Altogether a memorable stay.

The only hitch was that neither the owners nor the agents had given us the code for the key-box by the front door, which nonplussed us a bit on arrival, until the parent of one of the owners, who lives next door, spotted our difficulty and gave us the code!

Beautiful home in a quiet corner of Pembrokeshire

A beautiful home, immaculately clean and everything one could want. Very comfortable and like one's own home rather than a typical "holiday let". We'd definitely recommend it. The surrounding area is beautiful; St David's a gem and Whitesands beach a delight.

Lovely spacious well equipped house.

We had a lovely stay in this lovely house. The log burner came in very handy on a wet day. The cottage was very homely and well equipped. The village is quiet with good coastal walks. The pub serves good food.

Amazing family home away from home

We live in a busy city.....so when we are on holiday we like to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all. This lovely home and surrounding area provided that in buckets. With 2 children to entertain there was lots for us to do within 30-40 minutes drive. We enjoyed the lovely white sands beach with its body boarding and surfing. We went to Oakwood theme park and blue lagoon water complex. As a family we would highly recommend this fantastic holiday home. We dined at the Shed and if you are a fish lover we would highly recommend this too. For the first time in many years when holidaying in England we didn't want to leave......many thanks.

Fantastic Trefin Cottage with easy access to the Pembrokeshire Coast.

The cottage is spacious, warm and well appointed. It accommodated 5 adults with ease. There are 2 bathrooms and an additional downstairs cloakroom. All areas were spotlessly clean. Great location in the village with parking. Locals very friendly.

Wonderful place to stay!

The house is extremely well kept and has everything you need. You can hike from your door. It was perfect for us. Neighboring pubs-the Shed and the Sloop Inn were great.

Coast/Beach:

This property is in the heart of the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The nearest beach is a few minutes walk away and is an attractive rocky cove full of caves and rock pools to explore as well as access to the 186 miles of coastal path.

There are numerous other beaches, from secluded sandy or rocky coves to vast sandy beaches within a short walk, cycle or drive. Popular beaches include White Sands (9 miles), Newgale (10 miles), AberEiddy (3 miles) and AberCastle (1 mile).

Travel:

The nearest airport is Cardiff airport (roughly 1 hour 40 minutes by car). Use of a car is recommended but there is a train to Haverfordwest (18 miles from Trefin) and then a bus or taxi to Trefin.

There is a port at Goodwick (8 miles from Trefin) which takes passengers and vehicles to and from Ireland. From Goodwick, one can take the bus or a taxi to Trefin.

Nearest towns include Goodwick & adjoining Fishguard (8 miles), St Davids (8 miles) and Haverfordwest (18 miles).
