This large 5 star detached cottage is situated on the northern edge of the unique and breath-taking pembrokeshire coast national park in the picturesque village of trefin. The property, lovingly named ‘taneilan’ after the owners' children, is within walking distance of an excellent pub, a craft shop/ café, seasonal art galleries and a historic cove, Aber Felin, which is also on the coastal path. The property sleeps six comfortably and is of exceptional quality. ‘taneilan’ is a great place to be after your busy day exploring all that pembrokeshire has to offer, or indeed if you want a more relaxing experience ‘taneilan’ can offer you that time to reflect and unwind.

About Heidi and Bruce

We live in England with our 2 children and our two cats. We both work, but spend most of our holidays at our home in Trefin, enjoying the spectacular beaches and coastal walks that are right on our doorstep. In fact Heidi was brought up in Trefin, where her parents still live and we have many friends in the village. So it really feels like home when we are there.

Why Heidi and Bruce chose St Brides Bay, St Davids & The West Coast

We chose the property with a view to moving into the village some time in the future, so we have put our heart and soul into the place.

Heidi felt privileged growing up in Trefin, surrounded by endless coastline within walking distance, as well as numerous coves and bays, she could walk or cycle to everyday. Our kids can't get enough of the place.

Even in the height of summer, it is easy to find secluded beaches and walks all to yourself.

There is a staggering amount and variety of activities to enjoy in Pembrokeshire, whether you have children, are into arts and crafts, history and archaeology, boating, fishing, extreme sports, theme parks, wildlife and marine life, or simply want to get away from it all to relax in peace and quiet.

What makes this cottage unique

Our house is recently decorated and everything, including floors, windows, kitchen and bathrooms, is brand new. It is a very spacious property with oak flooring or tiles, high ceilings and underfloor heating downstairs. Other features such as the log burner, flat screen TV, american sized fridge freezer, large induction hob stove, separate utility, chandeliers, hotel standard bathrooms and generously sized beds, plus balcony off dining room french doors, contribute to the luxury feel.

Our children are three and six and the house was also decorated with children's safety in mind. Apart from stair gates, and optional fire guard and plug covers, the spacious garden is fully enclosed and the balcony decking leading onto the lawn is as non slip as possible.

Notes on accommodation: Regrettably no pets. Strictly no smoking in house or garden. Outside: Access to the garden is possible via the back door from the utility room, or via french doors to balcony and decked path, from kitchen-dining room. There is a beautiful view of the valley and coastline from the balcony. The garden can also be accessed directly from the front via a gated pathway. The garden gate can be bolted for additional security. Garden comprises large, fully enclosed south facing lawn with barbecue, garden table and chairs, clothes drying line, small covered sandpit, large lawn and exterior taps (front and back) suitable for filling paddling pools (not supplied) and cleaning boots, wet suits etc. There is off-road parking at the front of the cottage for one car and additional vehicles may park opposite the cottage on the street. Temporary parking for more than one vehicle directly in front of the cottage is permitted for the purposes of loading and unloading. Utility Room: Utility room includes washing machine, separate tumble dryer, double sink with draining board, plenty of storage, worktop area and back door to garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning at the end of your stay is free of charge. All linen included. Linen change part-way through longer stays is free of charge and additional cleaning is available for a small additional charge. Please bring own beach towels & cot bedding. Other: Cot and high chair available (safety gates to stairs are also fitted). WiFi & telephone (local & national calls) Iron & ironing board. Cot, highchair & baby bath available on request (please bring own cot bedding).

A lovely property

This a very nice , comfortable , well equipped house. It is large with 3 large bedrooms , 2 good bathrooms , a huge kitchen/diner and good sized lounge .

It is very well furnished, decorated and equipped. Beds were very comfortable.

The house is alsom very well positioned in village of Trefin, a few doors from pub and the very good Mill cafe. Trefin inlet/beach and the coast path are only 500yds away. Parking outside.

Porthgain ,Abercastle, Abereiddy etc all a few miles away and only 8 miles to St Davids.

The photos do not do it justice.

Easy to deal with Heidi and Bruce.

Fantastic property set in a lovely quiet location. Truly enjoyable stay.

Quite simply our favourite home rental to date. Really warm feel to the house and very well equipped for a family.

Conveniently located close to the coastal walk and small beach in a lovely quiet village.

We'd love to visit again, and base our further exploration of Pembrokeshire from Taneilan.

A winter holiday

This is a very spacious house and very well fitted out - well thought out. We were there in December, and it was nice and warm, with underfloor heating downstairs. It is also a very attractive village, with a friendly pub, and great cliffs in both directions along the coast.

Warm, comfortable, well equipped home from home

Just returned from spending most of the October half term break in Trefin with our two teenage children and a teenage friend. The house is lovely and far exceeded our expectations. It is immaculately clean, and there is everything you need for a great stay. Being about 4 doors away from The Ship Inn was great, with The Mill Café next to that - perfect! There are great coastal walks you can do from the property, or Trefin allows easy access to other towns such as St Davids and Fishguard. We found it to be the perfect base for our break.
