About Karen Capper

We are a professional couple with a young family. After years of holidaying abroad we decided to try holidaying closer to home and rediscover the great British holiday. We were not disappointed and have never looked back. This part of Cornwall offers everything we dream of in a holiday destination.

Why Karen Capper chose North Cornwall

We instantly fell in love with The Granary at Bude. We love the fact that it is away from the real crowds yet has easy access to the most stunning beaches, amazing coastal walks, restaurants and seaside towns. There is something for everyone, any time of year, whatever the weather.

As parents of a young family we understand how important it is to have a place where you can all relax, yet have plenty to do on the doorstep.

Fabulous holiday - booked for next year already!

  • 5 of 5

My partner & I wanted to book a few days away where we could play golf & tennis, walk, surf, sightsee & generally chill out.

The Granary at Ivyleaf near Bude is the perfect base to do all these and more.

The property is so cosy - home from home with 3 good sized bedrooms, very clean and wonderfully equipped - the coffee machine and music speaker system were excellent touches.

The patio garden at the back was bathed in sunshine in the afternoon and evening, a welcome retreat after a hard day's activities.

We played golf at Trevose, fantastic clubhouse, stunning views....but oh those pot bunkers!! We played tennis on site at Ivyleaf every afternoon on a well kept tarmac court. We visited various beaches all within a 10 minute drive and surfed/body boarded on some - all strictly life guarded. We walked across the cliffs, inland by the canals and around Bude itself with stops in coffee and tea shops to revive tired feet.

We ate out at Rosie's which is situated just off the beach in Bude - well worth a visit.....the milk shakes are out of this world!

We also had time to take in Newquay and Padstow - both packed with fascinating shops.....bacon rolls, Cornish pasties, fish & chips.....all taste even better in the fresh air.

I would thoroughly recommend this property to friends and relatives. The owner was most helpful with directions, property amenities and places of interest and things to do.......one holiday is not enough!!

Thank you for a wonderful week of sunshine and laughter. Also for tennis every evening. Loved the cottage, surprisingly spacious and well located - never enough time to do everything that you want to do.

Immaculate 5* stay

  • 5 of 5

This cottage made a perfect escape. It's the cleanest, tranqil holiday home I have ever stayed in. It's rural setting, next to a small golf course, make it a perfect escape. Amazing views of the sea from the well maintained back garden. It has all the modern cons and an impressive open plan living space. The bedrooms are well a very good size and well equiped. I would certainly reccommend this beautiful cottage and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Beautiful barn conversion !

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the barn during the easter holidays it was perfect and very spacious as we have 3 children. The sun shines on the garden and it has beautiful views. Quiet location which is what we wanted. It is within easy reach of lots of different places , we cycled the camel trail and visited lots of beautiful towns. We would definitely go back the owners were very quick to respond to any queries we had . Overall fabulous !
