About the Owner

After working on private yachts for many years my partner and I finally settled on Mallorca after falling in love with the fabulous scenery and the scope the island has for sports and recreation. Having first done a lenthly renovation to the 19th century L'Escaleta and then run it as a small hotel for some years, we are now ready to step back and spend the summers with our children on the beach and let other people enjoy our home. We hope you enjoy the friendly village life and jasmin scented garden as much as we have.

Great house,Suzanne did all our shopping and catering, she even made us some food to have in the freezer for the kids, so it was a real holiday and we could truely relax and wait for amazing smells from the BBQ to drift over to us as we chilled under the almond trees

Great stay in Mallorca

Stayed with friends and family ,had lots of relaxing days by the pool and enjoyable evenings sitting round that big table on the terrace making the most of the big gas bbq and warm Mediterranean evenings

We bought L'Escaleta because of its its fantastic position - we are located in a traditional Mallorquian village far away from the tourist traps and yet we have everything close by.S'arraco is at the foot of the magnificent Tramuntana mountain range,we are only 10 minutes from the beach of St Elmo, 10 minutes from the chic Port Andratx and 40 minutes from Palma. So we really do have it all!

We have a walking guide and offer a package deal with catering and transfers


We are 5 km from St Elmo beach which can be reached by bus or car which takes 10 minutes .If you like treking you can take a scenic walk through the countryside which takes about 1.5 hours.

If you want to visit Port Andratx we are only 5km from there too


We are 40km from Palma airport.I recommend a car if you want to explore the island but if you just want to relax by the pool or beach there is no need to rent one as we have a bus service which you can use to get to the beach or Port Andratx.You can buy essential items in in the village and the local supermarket has an online delivery service

All amenities close by and many activities can be arrange for you A local bike company will deliver bikes.We are close to Port Andratx where you can enjoy water sports or boat hire, not to mention a plethora of restaurants and bars to choose from .At the end of August we have the village fiestas which are great fun with something for everybody to enjoy

Whilst staying at L'Escaleta you are only 2 minutes walk from anything you might need - we have everything in the village - bars,a tapas/pizza restaurant ,a shop and banks. And since we have been operating as a small hotel for many years we can also offer as much catering, shopping, or babysitting services as you wish in order to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. L'Escaleta is suitable for families because the pool is in the gated area of the garden and we also have doors at the top and bottom of the staircases to keep your little ones safe.

  • Notes on accommodation: All the bedrooms have been individually styled and have comfortable beds and plenty of cupboard space . Outside: We have a mature garden complete with fruit trees and lush plants.There are 2 terraces, the large one is covered ,has a large gas BBQ and plenty of room for summer feasts . The other terrace is next to the garden bar near to the 8mx4m pool We have parking for 3 cars Utility Room: Washer, dryer, fridge freezer.
