Rose Cottage is a cosy 3 bedroom property set in a stunning rural location. It overlooks roaming fields and has a beautiful loch less than 250 metres away. The property has a spacious lounge with exposed stone wall and wood burning stove. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with all of the appliances you need. It has an open fire and, with it's breakfast bar and fireside chairs, offers holiday makers an alternative communal area while meals are being prepared. The adjacent Sun room is set out as a pleasant dining room. Externally there is off road parking for 2 cars at the front of the property. At the rear there is a fully enclosed cottage garden with a small lawn and a patio area with a garden bench, table and chairs. The cottage also now includes free internet access via Broadband wi-fi. Rose Cottage is a great base for exploring the Borders or taking part in many activities. There is salmon fishing in nearby Rivers Tweed and Teviot. There are 21 golf courses in the Borders with the famous championship course on the Roxburghe estate only 3 miles away.

Great Break Away
A truly beautiful cottage, the owners have made it very homely and have thought of everything to make anyone staying there feel welcome and at home. The cottage is situated in an ideal location for days out around the surrounding area or to just stay local and take in the beautiful scenery, we felt we could just relax and enjoy our time there. previous visitors had left brilliant information of the area so went off their knowledge and it really helped, I couldn't recommend this cottage enough. Well done for the owners getting this perfect, we can't wait to go back..
Summer break in the Scottish borders
A wonderful cottage, located near the rural village of Eckford. A very cosy and homely feel to the cottage, which has been well stocked with eveyrthing you'll need for a visit. Also has a nice enclosed garden at the back for bbqs and somewhere for the kids to play.
If you're into your history it is perfectly located for exploring Jedburgh, Melrose, Kelso and Dryburgh amongst others.
A home away from home 5*
Having recently visited we very much hope to be back. The cottage is cosy, well equipped, spacious and I think very special. Terry, the owner, was very communicative and helpful. It is set in the most beautiful area, very quiet, tranquil and preaceful. I cannot recommend highly enough. If you want some quiet time away from the rigours of everyday life this is your place. It makes a great central base to visit lots of boarder towns and is also close enough to Edinburgh for a day trip, as well as a being close enough to the coast for another day trip exploring. Most highly recommended.
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely part of the world. We really enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage, particularly the open fire and the wood burner.

Rose Cottage is a beautiful cottage set in the idyllic Scottish Borders countryside situated between two the gorgeous towns of Jedburgh and Kelso. The cottage is very well maintained and immaculately kept providing a truly home from home experience with no expense spared in making your stay very comfortable. The cottage provided us with an ideal base to tour the Scottish Borders and neighbouring coastline and allowing us to return to extremely comfortable accommodation. From setting a roaring log fire in the lounge to the well equipped kitchen with integrated appliances, eye level cooker, fridge, dish washer and washing machine. The conservatory is set out for family dining which allowed us to eat in comfort. My family and I spent the Easter weekend at Rose Cottage and even though there were 5 adults, 2 six year old grandchildren and our 8 week old grandson, there was plenty of space and we never felt we were on top of each other. I would certainly recommend Rose Cottage to family and friends and look forward to booking another stay here in the future. 10/10 to Terry and Trisha for the excellent service provided. Thank you.

Berwick-on-Tweed (30 miles). The unspoilt beach at Coldingham Bay, the divers playground at St Abbs harbour and the seals at Eyemouth are all approx 40 miles away.
Edinburgh and Newcastle airports both approx 60 miles from property.
Car recommended to get to nearest general stores/newsagents and public house in Morebattle (4 miles). Supermarkets and banks in Kelso and Jedburgh (6 miles).
The market town of Kelso (6 miles) with the added attractions of Floors Castle, salmon and trout fishing on the River Tweed and National Hunt horse racing (jumping) at the friendly Kelso Race Course.
Jedburgh (6 miles), with the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots' House and Jedburgh Castle jail.
Melrose - home of Rugby 7's (15 miles)
Bamburgh castle on the miles of unspoilt beach (45 miles)

The Scottish Borders is excellent for walking/cycling enthusiasts with the circular Borders Abbey Way (64 miles in total) which takes in the spectacular ruins of Kelso, Jedburgh, Melrose and Dryburgh Abbeys. Also, the Pennine Way ends at the Border Inn at Kirk Yetholm (10 miles from property) just inside the Scottish Border. Kirk Yetholm is a lovely village at the base of the Cheviot Hills.
The Roxburghe Estate (8 miles) houses the Fly Fishing Centre of Excellence where you can book into some of the best Salmon and Trout fishing in the Borders.
The Caddy Mann Restaurant (2011 Which Good Food Guide) is only 3 miles from Rose Cottage
