About the Owner

I bought Heatherview 15 years ago from Margaret, a lovely elderly lady who kept a beautiful garden and sang to her plants. My parents thought it would suit them when they grew less energetic. They never came here so I brought the cottage up to date, including building a new kitchen and began holiday lets. This has been a big success, Guests love the quiet, the donkeys and ponies, the peaceful garden and living 'on' the New Forest with walking for hours straight from the gate. I enjoy people enjoying Heatherview and I like being available to help or advise at any time. I live in Heather Cottage next door but I don't interfere unless asked! I'm a grandmother. I worked as a teacher in special needs. I love the sea, The Forest ,and providing such a lovely base for holidays.

Excellent location and accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here on three previous occasions in the cottage and twice in the b&b and finally got round to writing a review !

We feel that it is a perfect location with the national park on the doorstep perfect both for walks straight out the front door or easy to get to lots of great places, all within easy drive too.

The accommodation is always clean and comfortable having stayed here as a couple in the b&b and a family with one and more recently two small children. There is potential to sleep a further two or just extra space for us. There is also a very handy second toilet downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need including washing machine, microwave and dishwasher.

There is always a warm welcome when we arrive and after a tiring day out we are all happy to get back to the cottage which feels very homely. The garden is great too !

Thoroughly recommended !

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented Henrietta's cottage for the winter months. We loved it.It is warm comfortable and very well equipped. kitchen and bathroom are modern while the cottage retains its period charm. The beds are comfortable and there is adequate storage.

Nothing is too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. The lovely small garden is secluded.with a good shed for bikes etc.and garden furniture.

A wonderful cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at this cottage a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed with it. It was clean and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Although the rooms were well furnished and spacious it still had a very cosy feel to it. We enjoyed the walks down the country lanes with our little dog and it was a joy to wake up every morning to the sight of horses and cows taking a stroll outside the cottage. We would definitely like to come back. Thank you Henrietta for making our week's stay a very comfortable and enjoyable one . Peter and Cynthia Ward (and Sam) x
