House in Fowey, Cornwall, England - Quiet Location With Parking For Two Cars And Within A Short Walk To Town.

Our much loved family home is located in one of the prettiest of cornish coastal towns. Close to some of the most breath-taking cliff top walks, winding riverside paths through old woods that bloom with bluebells and primroses. The house offers every comfort for a memorable stay, delightful views, space to relax and the convenience of garaged car parking and only a short pleasant walk into town passing traditional Cornish cottages and historical buildings.

A town bus operates during the day to bring you back after a great day out and will happily drop you right at the end of the road.

Our family holiday home is very modern inside to offer every comfort during your stay. A spacious sitting room is well furnished with leather sofas and there are armchairs throughout, there is even an entertainment / TV room that is there for that crucial football match or simply relax with some music.

The first floor has a bedroom with wide views of the arc of the river estuary and the countryside beyond. The second bedroom looks over the terraced garden.

The garden is multi-leveled with some delightful sitting areas to lie back and sip a glass of chilled wine and read that book you brought along.

Hi, My name is Peter and my wife's name is Gill, we have enjoyed owning our lovely holiday home in Fowey since buying it in 1999 after a long search for... 'just the right one.' We are both retired and also live part-time in Oxfordshire. Our children are grown and scattered but they all love to come down to Fowey with our grandchildren to visit with us and enjoy all the fantastic Cornish beaches, water sports and a traditional friendly welcome with good honest food and drink. We hope that after visiting this site you will want to come and enjoy our home, The Bowshot Lady and our NEW addition Bowshot Cottage too.

Why Peter Gleed chose Fowey

We bought The Bowshot Lady. the name that we chose for it in honour of all the ladies in our family. The choice was easy, a modern house built in the 60's to an award winning design in a location overlooking the town, the river estuary, the NT woods and the open meadows beyond. We are easy to find at the top of the town and accessable without going through the town itself. The house is positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with no passing main-road traffic.

What makes this house unique

Our home has been extended, landscaped and tastefully decorated with lots of comfort features, including a spacious designer kitchen. The views from the house and garden are spectacular and the garden and courtyard areas are very suitable for relaxing or entertaining. We also have garaging and parking next to the house for our guests use. And to top everything we are only a short walk to the harbour and town and in walking distance to the beaches.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: A very comfortable family home to suit 4/2 adults and older children (see terms). Sorry no pets or smokers. Outside: There is a level patio area to the rear but the remaining garden is terraced on higher levels and thus not suitable for unsupervised children's play. There are two sitting areas with a table and chairs. The lower patio also has a table and chairs. Utility Room: This room is outside the main house and has a large Belfast sink, H/C water, washing m/c, freezer, condensing dryer and storage for boots etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen supplied and beds made-up. The house is serviced and cleaned weekly and supplied with fresh linen. All services to the house are insured for rapid call-out and maintenance. Towels are supplied for guests. Other: There is a side sitting room adjoining the kitchen, a small conservatory and further entertainment TV room with DVD.

Good location,very clean with fresh deco, great view from front bedroom.

We had a very nice time, the house is warm clean and well appointed.

Car parking space is essential in Fowey so 2 is a bonus.

Less than a 10 min walk to the centre with great pubs and shops.

A very quiet location no noise from roads or neighbours.

Only down side for me, the mattress on the double bed is soft and not good for a back problem.

A lovely week

The house was well furnished, comfortable, clean and homely. The house is a ten minute walk, uphill from the waterfront where the pubs/restaurants/bakers etc are gathered. It's quite steep but nothing you wouldn't expect from a visit to Cornwall!. There is room to park at the front gate and there is a convenience store in the road above he house if you don't fancy the walk back up from town. We enjoyed walks along the South West coast path from the house. We were also within easy driving distance of Lands End, St Michael's Mount, Minnack Theatre, Bodmin, Dartmoor, Penzance, Newlyn, Lanhydrock House, Eden Project, the Lost gardens. In fact a week wasn't nearly long enough to see everything that we would have liked.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Ideal for coastal walks, visits to horticultural gardens, the famous Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, sailing, sea fishing, coastal and river boat trips, canoe river treks, scenery painting, golf and of course water sports.

Coast/Beach:

The beach at Whitehouse is a delightful natural cove 5 min. level walk from the harbour ideal for a quiet sunbathe, Ready Money Cove is a little further at the edge of town about 15 mins. walk from the house. The beaches at Par and Carlyon Bay are 10-15 mins. by car and are good for kite surfing and the more energetic beach activities. There is a good coastal path from nearby Polruan to Polperro offering a healthy 7 mile walk in bracing sea air.

Travel:

Nearest airports locally are at Newquay and Exeter but the area is best served by the A30 main highway and the railway station at Par. Fowey is a deep water port and has visiting mooring facilities within the estuary confines.

Distances:

St. Austell is approx. 10km (6.5ml) and Bodmin 15km (10ml) from Fowey.

Further Details:

All pubs in town serve a good selection of real ales and popular lagers and ciders as well as excellent tasty food to suit all budgets. The restaurants and hotels offer various style cuisines cooked by creative chefs. Many have locally caught seafood on their mouth-watering menus.

The town has a deli, old-style butchers, wet fish shop, grocers, two main street banks, two post offices, newsagents, dentists, hair dressers, doctors surgery, minor accident hospital and fire station and lifeboat station.
